I haven't met anyone who said "when I grow up I want to be an alcoholic"...so it is a disease.Alcoholism is the only deadly disease that can be put in total remission.
I’m not sure about “total remission.” I’ve read about “sustained remission,” but I’ve found that only a daily reprieve and putting the solution first DAILY can and will sustain remission from the disease of alcoholism. The solution is the steps and principles of the Alcoholics Anonymous program.

Dude, I am stuck in a massive relapse. I saw you recover from yours. How?
Medical Detox, then in patient rehab(if needed), then 90 AA meetings in 90 days(to start.) When you’re desperate enough, you’ll do the same.
@@SoberJames Best possible advice here !
I’m just relaying what was suggested to me by AA’ers that came before me, and what I finally did.
