Day 465. I cannot believe that I use to operate hungover all the time. There’s nothing worse than being hungover at work and then having alcohol withdrawals at the same time.
Yeah for sure. You said it perfectly. Incredible that was our reality before. But thank god for miracles and people like you to share the truth. We hope you're doing well these days!
Exactly. It is hard to believe how much misery I have put myself through ever morning, just to feel better by 3pm, and then rinse and repeat. It was like a nightmarish version of Ground Hog day. 465 is amazing. Congrats.
It’s my first Friday night sober in about 15 years. It’s tough. Tomorrow is the big one though. This is day 6 of sobriety and I’m home watching this video and it’s helping. I managed to go out with friends from work and only drink soda water this evening. Thanks for the help.
Sobriety is like a broken leg. It needs time to heal. It doesn't need entertainment, a walk, a jog and certainly NO RUNNING. This is the time you need, you owe it to yourself. The relationship with yourself is the most important one. It's the only one that you'll have EVERY DAY. This is the time to work on your physical health, your mental health, new hobbies, exercise, diet, maybe some therapy, skies the limit. When you're ready to do more you'll know. Just don't jeopardize your sobriety! Comment often when you watch other videos. I will respond when I can. Between your video, and all of these inspiring comments, I'm stoked that I found this channel! After more than a decade of daily heavy drinking, I am 15 days sober today, and going strong! Thank you for this.
Hey Steve!! I'm glad you found us too.. UA-cam can be overwhelming at times. Stick with it. We need to prove to ourselves that we are stronger than what we believe we have become
@@RedboneRattler 4 days is awesome! Keep it up. I'm proud of you for taking those first steps. I'm on day 88 today and it feels great. Put your mind to it, and you will succeed.
I was drinking almost a fifth every day. Now ive weaned myself down to less than a third of that. 8 days from now will be my first day with 0 alcohol. Binging these videos instead of binge drinking 💪
❤ Same here...in 15 days it will be day one and I'm getting impatient, wanting to quit cold turkey but never sticks when I did that in the past so I'm trying it Jaes way this time...😂
@kristikiser8762 quitting cold turkey can be very dangerous. I once had two seizures from withdrawal and ended up in the hospital. Stay safe and stay strong.
38 days sober, I used to be so numb to my emotions while using alcohol. And the biggest thing I’ve noticed so far, is how intensely i feel my emotions now. My body also isnt in as much casual pain as it used to be, my back would hurt all the time. And im slowly coming out of the brain fog, its still pretty bad along with the dissociation, but ive noticed im able to carry out thoughts just little better. My mother was/is a alcoholic when i was growing up and it was normalized around me and also pushed on me. So ive been drinking on and off since probably 13 years old. Im 23 now. The biggest reason why i am able to begin my sobriety journey is because i started to heal from my trauma, and finally being in a healthy situation in a healthy relationship with someone who holds me accountable and gives me all the support i could ever ask for, keeps me going and pushing. You have to have a good enough reason why to stop drinking to actually get yourself to stop, and everyones reason is different. Im thankful that ive found my reason while im still young and able to make changes before things got TOO extreme.
One of the benefits of quiting alcohol is you create a positive butterfly effect. I mentioned this in one of the other episodes but to explain it further its when one small change results in many huge differences down the road. In this case positive differences such as. Your health improves in a big way, your family benefits, your financial state could drastically change for the better. Everything in your life gets better when you quit drinking. You've created a butterfly effect. And you can plan all kinds of butterfly effects in your life by doing things like, going back to school, volunteering in the community, giving music lessons to children. The possibilities are endless you just have to use your imagination. When you get sober you free your minds imagination. 😌
@HoboGardenerBen I know what you mean. When I quit alcohol and weed I thought I might as well get all the addictive drugs out of my body so I quit coffee too. Keep up the great work. Sounds like you are doing awesomely!!!
Thank you my friend. Thanks for your reply just the other day too. Love that “butterfly effect”. People may not truly grasp the exponential nature of this. But it is mind boggling if we rid ourselves of alcohol. Of course, for entertainment you could actually watch the movie “ The butterfly effect “ which I also liked way back. The movies sub quote is, “ Change one thing, Change everything………..”. I love that. All the best. Talk to you again.
I decided to quit drinking for a week. A week became a month and now has become 2 years. Motivation? Positive benefits. No one will ever regret giving up alcohol. It doesn’t really taste that good and it puts a negative spin on almost every person I have ever known. If someone wanted to claim that alcohol tastes great, how long would you drink it as much as you do now if the alcohol was removed. Suddenly a case of beer probably doesn’t sound so tasty. Truthfully after the first 6 months I could see the sudden difference in anyone’s personality after they even had one drink. Even the most good hearted person in the world will find a method to become an ass with enough alcohol... And frankly, it’s never a bonus. I don’t miss it, rarely ever think about it, and have lost interest in a lot of former friends and activities associated with drinking. If friendship and activities are requiring a bar, they’re we were the 1st things to fade away. Im loving life without. Literally
I appreciate your comment!! As well as others… Just Day #2 for me after going back and forth just to get sucked back in. But this time I Aim to win!! 😊
Recently quit for 3 weeks, had two beers the other night and was kinda let down …. Didn’t have the flavour I remember craving … back to no booze for me
4 yrs bottle of whiskey a week after my sweetheart died in motorcycle accident. I saved all the bottles, don’t know why. 2019 was very lonely. I too made excuses and took the fk it pill. Today 10/30/23 my “sobering “ wake up call with new symptoms and feeling like something bad is going to happen soon, decided I’d rather be fishing than having a stroke. Today is day one. BP 160/110 was always 122/77. Thank you for putting your videos in the universe. Be 60 in July. Next is the smoking. 45 yrs. One human to another, find a purpose, even if it’s fishing. ML&R
congratulations to making this very important decision for your health and your longevity! I never realized how bad alcohol is mentally i only thought about the pysical affects like being hung over. It gives you anxiety, depression, and low self esteem.
I turn 40 in 2 weeks. 25 yrs of "partying" has finally worn me out but terrified as well. Thanks for the vids, giving me a lot to look forward to & congrats on your own sobriety as well :)
Been sober for 80+ days. i am living my best life in close to 30 years of drinking every day. everything in this video is truth, thank god ive found your channel. god bless! the dizziness issue came up with me, and it turned out to be a loss of thiamine levels relating to an imbalance of blood sugar. A chat with my doctor got me on thiamine supplements. that made the dizziness go away and now it's levelled off after 80 days.
Dude, your channel is the best I've came across on UA-cam. I have been drinking heavily for half my life. I'm 33 and from the U.K. I'm a music teacher and father , I've decided its now or never I stop. I'm day 5 into my journey and your channel is making me feel so positive about my journey. Alcohol was the main reason for the breakdown in my relationship and most of negative aspects in my life. My friends want me to go out tonight for one of their birthdays. I watch your videos and no what I have to and more importantly want to do. Thank you and bless!
woaaaaaaaah!!!!! what a lovely comment and congrats to you on regaining control of the ship! some people are just lost our at sea with no direction and don't even know how badly they're even lost. you're making the steps, now it's time to keep putting in the practice and be patient. if you're not there yet, what do you do? @@CD-zy5te Hey man. I'm really good thanks! Hope you're keeping well. Firstly, Thanks for the message. I'm 15 days sober today! this is the longest I've been without alcohol and other substances since about the age of 15-16, I'm 33. I feel good even though I've had a cold the past few days. I have spent some quality time with my son and I'm more productive at work. I've been to the pub with friends and family and just drank diet coke, I didn't actually find it that difficult. That's not to say I wont in the future. Thanks for the love.
@@pblidg7858 that is fantastic! Thank you for letting know that you are doing great! I remember in the beginning of my sobriety journey I spent time daily listening to Jae and a couple other channels. I didnt know at the time how important that would become. You see I was building up knowledge and affirmations so I would not have to depend on only willpower later. When Jae and SamE get back from their road trip I hope to see you in the live stream chat sometime!
These videos are really opening my eyes and giving me hope again. I'm at the point of drinking a handle every 4-5 days. I'm starting my journey today of being sober again today. Wish me luck and pray for me
I have never heard anyone present the self sabotage loop in a more understandable way! I think I just didn’t know how to get out of the loop. When deciding to accomplish something (anything, I love how you even throw “make bed” as an accomplishment), VS drinking, that really is the moment to “break in.” Then just do it again for the next task until self worth improves via the achievements (instead of the white claw cans) that pile up. It’s so true: drinking alcohol leads to NOT accomplishing things, creating emptiness, leading to depression, and causing anxiety about the future… that leads to more drinking. Eloquently stated. Today, thanks to you, I wasn’t the mom who opened the next bottle of wine while I looked depressed and overwhelmed at the huge stack of laundry, the lunches to pack, the kids to feed, the obligations I haven’t yet started… only to wake up tomorrow as my future self with all the same problems and more. Today, I was the mom who started those tasks one at a time with sobriety, got them all done, and my tomorrow self is going to be so proud. (I did resist the urge to open the wine to celebrate my accomplishments - which clearly speaks to the work I have to do. But one thing at a time! Thank you!)
You are practicing, and it gets easier. Remember how hard it was to take your training wheels off, or to tie your shoes, or divide and multiply? This is just another thing to learn, get used to, and apply to your daily life. You deserve happy children and they deserve a happy and healthy mom. Make this your motto moving forward: I will EARN my sleep No more running away, no more avoiding, no more hiding. Naps are ok. but most of all, do what you need to do to reduce your daily stress. Maybe do more frequent laundry loads, instead of waiting until it's overwhelming. Another motto I'm a big fan of is: Just do it now There's no sense in putting things off, that's also just "tasking it to future you". You ARE future you. Be on the same team. Be able to count on yourself. Be the change you wish to see! Click here to watch our NEWEST videos on sobriety! ua-cam.com/play/PLddHUddS-QQjIYyRNl-E3bkOiEWWIZtEt.html
I’ve always been a binge drinker and I’ve always drank often. After a recent breakup I drank literally every day for almost two months. I drank a fifteen pack A day during the week and a flat per day on weekends. It was absolutely disgusting behaviour. I’m on day three without it and it actually went ok. Im going to try sobriety for a month and see how I feel. If all goes well I’ll go another month
I'm 29 years young. I have been in denial about being in denial for far too long. I feel like I'm the biggest hypocrite I know because I never practice what I preach. I feel like the 2 biggest problems with the world is impatience and laziness, and I am consumed by both. So with that being said, I feel quite grateful for randomly stumbling upon your videos Jae. THIS has given me more inspiration and motivation than I have experienced in a long... long time.
Sometimes we have to be the motivation we are looking for! Thank YOU for keeping ME on track! Make sure to subscribe, you're going to want to binge watch my now 95 episodes to get you thru this journey
Impatient and laziness that was spot all I needed to hear because that’s me I work and pay my bills but once I get off I go home and drink Hennessy and some beers even though I know I need to switch up my routine thanks
I've definitely experienced most of these benefits when I've gotten close to 90 days. I've never quite made it to 90 since I've started drinking, but I'm getting there (and much farther) this time. For now I've got 8 days done and the weekend conquered by walking myself out of drinking thoughts. 5 miles in the evening seems to do the trick.
@@GettingSoberAgain hey champ, rolling into day 13 today, tomorrow is 2 weeks!. Its's 4.45am here and just getting up to head to the gym. Hope you are well champ and winning those pool games 😉👍.
I just decided to quit alcohol, or stop and reset at least, so this video is definitely very helpful. I'm already down the road to recovery from being a pack-a-day smoker to a non-smoker now for over 2 years, so alcohol was the obvious next step in this journey. Thanks again and wishing you good health!
This is my first video from this channel. The channel description describes me. I'm almost 60 and have drank since I was a teanager. I quit for 6 months a few years ago and then went through a traumatic event and started drinking to cope. I so wish i would have held out after 6 months. I finally decided I had to make a change 5 days ago and started the journey again. Thanks for the channel and wisdom!
I have to admit that I did expect more...more happiness, the first time I stopped drinking. I suppose I made it more difficult when I left my husband, but I made it....for 5 more years.

This is a wonderful series of videos. Thank you so very much for this. I have been sober since January 10 of 2010. I can relate to all of this. Keep on keeping on! Peace and blessings always.
April 1st will be 90 days for me. My waist is slimming and I just did my first motorcycle rally sober. That was the ultimate test for me and I passed it
I have finally became sober... Again just like the title 🤣 but for once I finally have found a way to maintain it. I'm now going just past my 6 week mark and I have never made it this far before. Each day is just like you describe, and each day is getting better. I have started on some supplements and vitamins to help get my energy level up and I'm finally able to do things like I did before my alcohol career. I just found this chanel about 2 weeks ago. I am glad to see someone is actually out putting it like it is. Keep up the good work.
Thank you brother!! Congrats on 6 weeks, it must be a good feeling right?? How long was your "drinking career?" Keep in touch I always love to hear positive updates :)
@@GettingSoberAgain my drinking career was for 27 years and I will never let that take control of my life ever again. It does feel so good to finally be getting healthy again.thanks again
I started alternate day fasting (46/2-40/8) a month ago. I was drinking on my eating days the first two weeks. One night, with one drink I had gotten a severe headache. Tried again 2 days later on my eating day and another severe headache. What a blessing that was! It’s been 14 days since that last drink and I have no desire to have another drink. I’m continuing the alternate day fasting for the autophagy benefits and cleaning out the toxins built up in my body from all the years of drinking.🥰
We certainly look forward to hearing your updates at 1 month plus! A lot of people get overconfident in the first few weeks, and we never hear from them again =(
@@GettingSoberAgain One month has passed and I still have zero desire to drink. I’m continuing ADF fasting and I’m loving it! The noticeable changes are- I’m happier and I am much more gabby, my skin looks better, my resting/sleeping heart rate is down 25 points, and my sleeping has drastically improved. 😍
The ability to recognize the positive outcome from staying sober is rewarding itself. I started with trying this sobriety for 1 months and that right there was rewarding to me so I did not want to break my streak and now I am 1 year and 1 month no alcohol streak. Loving every moment of this. It has helped me stay accountable for other things I’ve wanted to try as well such as , no coffee, no soda, no sweets for 30 days. Now I’m on this staying accountable and waking up in the early morning to workout. Oh and I’m also staying accountable and not coloring my hair. Sounds silly but be always colored my hair and with turning 40 this year I want to see my natural color. There is just so many benefits so anyone who wants to try this start small.. set yourself a short amount of time and then just keep going once you reach that streak mark. Thanks for this video and everything you’re saying is totally true. I have felt the same positive results. I feel healthy and my skin is amazing. If you don’t do drugs or smoke, why put poison alcohol in your system.

It feels like I have a time machine going back and forward watching your videos. Its so amazing you are over 2 years sober now! I am feeling better, day by day. I feel able to control my destiny, and the anxiety/panic is subsiding. I love your work Jae.
Sobriety is the best, and though I often thought that I was sober when I was drinking, like between bouts of drinking, I don’t think I really was. There was always a longing for alcohol and a kind of treading water between drinking sessions, not real sobriety. Waking up after a deeply restful night’s sleep is only the tip of the sobriety iceberg. Good luck to everyone starting an alcohol free life.
Need this video everyday. Ive struggled the past few weeks....i got bored, so i thought, fomo etc kicked in and my low mood felt like it was growing not shrinking in sobriety... but ive realised its not a thunderbolt shift....but boy its better than the anxiety hungover irritable non doing that drinking creates. 😢
Day 65 for me. It's about my 20th time trying and this is the record. This time has been much easier, quitting smoking took me a bunch of tries too, sometimes you have to just keep at it.
Ah, the much anticipated 90 day video!! It exceeded my expectations! @@manabj How much are you spending on alcohol and alcohol related expenses? How much time do you waste drinking, being drunk and being hungover? What do you stand to gain from a life without alcohol? What do you stand to lose if you continue on your current trajectory? Unless you're willing to ask and truthfully answer these kinds of bigger questions, you will continue to hide from the truth and keep yourself willfully blind. From all of humanity: Don't be that person. As far as I know, this is the only existence we get to be human with free will and the ability to experience emotions, love, struggles and overcoming those struggles and making them into successes. May 1st. Taper down slowly. Get there safely. Fill your schedule, create lists of to-do's, consider other healthy associations with quitting alcohol such as going to the gym and or going to therapy or counseling. Consider recruiting a sober buddy to do it with you for at least the first week or two. Science tells us that neurons that fire together wire together. It's vitally important to have other and new positive associations to cohabitate with your newfound sobriety. Start a project. Work on maintaining your home, your health, your happiness. And most of all, don't forget to rest. You wouldn't run your car at 8000 RPMs 24 hours a day, so don't do that to your body. Schedule. Time to lay down, take naps, go to bed early if you have to, but treat yourself with kindness. A fun exercise to do is that after the first week of sobriety add up all of the money that you would have spent on alcohol, shitty food, lyfts and Ubers, door charges at night clubs, parking tickets, other drugs are stimulus that may have gone with the alcohol and turn that into a realistic number which is what I refer to as alcohol and alcohol related expenses. After the first week, use that money to treat yourself to something. A new gadget, a dinner, a massage, a subscription, a down payment for something, a hotel, whatever.... So again I'll ask you, are you even subscribed? Take care 😂

Congratulations on your 90 days of not drinking. I quit drinking several decades ago and for the first couple of years took things one day at a time, that definitely works. So does searching out some help, in my case that was AA, it's really tough to obtain healthy sobriety on your own, there's so much going on besides just the drinking. If you continue down the path of sobriety you'll be able to look back and know that this was the greatest gift you could give yourself, to stop drinking. Life is so beautiful sober. Believe it.
Day number three so glad I found this channel, lots of encouragement and positive energy. When I’m feeling low, I’m just gonna fire up one of these videos.
I’m on day 69 today without alcohol. I’m 41 and started drinking daily in the last 10 years. Before that I was a “weekend warrior”. What resonated with me was Jae’s clarification on reasonable expectations when quitting drinking. I guess I assumed I would regain the energy and stamina of my 20s and it would happen within the first 40 days. Well, not so much, but my back pain has almost completely gone away and lost 10 pounds in the first 3 weeks, but plateaued after that. I would agree that this time right now, days (60-90) has its own challenges like not seeing much improvement during this time yet getting cravings more often than a couple weeks earlier. I’ll push through to 90 and see what I’m able to achieve next.
Hi Jae, This is by far the most informative and helpful vlogs on quitting alcohol I have seen and I have seen loads! I quit for 3 months after 20 yrs of drinking 2-3 gasses of wine daily. I was surprised that the only improvement was better sleep and slight mental clarity improvement ..... or was it? I was unaware of the things quitting, had helped, and had not put down to alcohol consumption. IE as you mentioned, itchy skin and spots, mucus and coughing in the morning, dizziness aching muscles. What really hit home was the time it takes to see positive results. I expected 20yrs of drinking a 2-3 glasses of wine every single day to be completely reversed in 3 months! I am in my first month of quitting again and this time I am determined to succeed as I feel I am now in the right frame of mind and knowledge, through your documented experiences. I want to do it rather than I should do it. The main reason is that I always feel head pressure and dizziness, and I now realise, and expect will maybe take a few years to reduce, and now after watching this I have renewed determination. Thanks so much for you inspiration and sharing your experience with us all. xx

Just found this channel as i was look up withdrawals on alcohol, i have withdrawn a fair few time and i hated it, it was the worst time ever been tryimg to get sober for two years now, had some months off it here and there but as soon as i feel good i think "oh yeah i can just a few on the weekends like back in the days when i didnt have a problem with alchol" but then bad started small and just built back up to full blown drink everyday, so now going for my sixth time sober, good luck everyone i know its a hard journey

Really enjoying your channel. I’ve had a bad week of drinking and feel like absolute dirt inside and out. I’m so disappointed in myself. Thank you for sharing your journey.
I know what its like pal it sucks. But it happens to everyone and it happens so easily. I know I've been there many a time. But the flip side is you always get a reset. So dust yourself off and when you get your willpower built up again you'll be ready to shoot for the stars!!! Good luck!!! :D
I totally feel you I’m on day 4 getting off all my vices and I’m feeling sick. The room is spinning and my vision gets tracers. I drink water take Benadryl then try to sleep it off
The only good thing about hitting the bottom of the proverbial barrel is that there is only one way out and that is turning around!! You got this! If you did then, or if you are now, you can turn around and climb out of the barrel! Try not to beat yourself up too much, that just distracts you from climbing out, really. None of us is faultless.
Hi J. My partner and I started watching you when he was still in the midst on drinking and you inspired him and gave me hope. We just re-watched this episode to celebrate his 90 days of sobriety. I want to thank you for the work you are doing and for sharing your flaws and experience. I greatly appreciate your wisdom. Even though he is sober now, we will continue to watch and learn from you. Yay you, and yay my partner and everyone else trying to deal with this terrible disease.

Hope you have a good one and win some $$rs at pool 😉😎👊. Thanks again for setting all this up champ. Legend 🏆 and another great video, keeps me focused.
I feel like that pink cloud/honeymoon phase is hitting me right now since the last week or so. I stopped alcohol, pot, and nicotine. Touched none of it in 90 days now. Seemed easy for me after only 4 days sober because i was excited to be getting away from it all again. Ive come back here since it seems the excitement has worn off and find myself thinking about those things a lot recently.
@@GettingSoberAgain I only needed that short period of time to get the ball rolling again because about 3 months prior I was totally sober for 78 days. Then I hear about these great benefits of going past 90 days and knew I should have kept going! Hearing that it's common to have these kind of feelings around 60 to 90 days has really motivated me to keep going. Much more important things to focus on...
First off, thank you! I’ve have struggled with alcohol since my teens ( currently in my late 30’s) I have been arrested due to alcohol and the decision I would make when under the influence.I have stopped so many times but always go back.your content helps me stayed motivated and understand what I’m going through mentally and physically as I become sober, again! Great Video Jae!! So much info in here, I could watch it again and still learn more! Thanks! Going sweet over here. Working at night keeps me busy and offers a schedule ruled by self care to keep me sane. Eat, water, sleep, make music, work, repeat. It's nice and consistent.
That's great to hear! I am also very addicted to my routine. Please do watch over and over lol. I am actually going to be making an update later today for episode #90 announcing a contest to make the video go viral!...
Oh and a good tool for me when stressed and anxious about things, was to stop and think about what I could actually do in that moment to help the situation. Like if it was a Saturday and I couldn't do anything because I couldn't contact anybody at the bank or something I'd remind myself of that and that Monday would be the day to tackle that. Just an example but baby steps are still accomplishments and they feel good at the end of the day! The very best wishes to anybody on this journey!

I'm happy to hear that you've made it this far! How do you handle cravings? What has been working for you so far? What made you come to the decision to PRACTICE sobriety?
2.5 years after my last band was destroyed by a brother turned snake who left us for a management deal which collapsed 6 months later and it took this long to start a new band with the ultimate lineup and an investor/studio producer .. now we are rehearsing every week in prep for the dark veil of lockdown being finally lifted this summer.. nothing better to look forward to with the principle motivation to stay sober being the unassailable ambition to be the best bassman I can be in the best band I can co-create in the glorious Southwest of England ..

Great video I feel awesome when I don’t drink alcohol. I used to drink every day, actually for several years and now if I drink two or three drinks I feel awful
Thank for saying so Richard! I think that alcohol gives us "cold feet" to warming up to living life to it's fullest. There was a time where I couldn't do much without my alcohol crutch in my hand to navigate the world. Thank you for sharing your experience and feel free to share more! We have thousands of new people checking out our videos everyday. You never know who you will inspire!
@@GettingSoberAgain no doubt, I was a shy kid in school but when I discovered alcohol and certain drugs I went from a nobody to countless one night stands and relationships with many women , some older, some married and others just unfortunate enough to fall in love with me at the time. This went on for over 35 years and when I finally stopped, I didn’t have cravings, just a lot of guilt which was a trigger so one must not overlook the power a guilty conscience has over an alcoholic when they stop drinking. With that being said, one must understand the importance of their higher power to get them through.
Hey hey alright!!!! this was episode 90, we just released episode 171 recently. let me know when you catch up lol (and make sure to comment on every video so I can write you back!)
Enjoyed this one. I look forward to earning some of these benefits as time progresses. Had a very challenging weekend with multiple opportunities and offers to indulge. but I reluctantly declined. I smoked more cigarettes than I had hoped, but getting through the weekend without a shot was my first challenge. (Day 7 for me). Thanks again for the time and encouragement Jae.
I hear ya Tomahawk! One step at a time, one day at a time. If a cigar helps you to not drink, and then not drink and drive and not make other piss poor decisions, well, that's what works for you 🥳

I was drinking a bottle of whisky every 3 days and about 3 cans of beer a day, I did this for about 3 years, things started to go really wrong, I woke up one day and said that's enough, that was 15 months ago... haven't had a drop since.......
Very thorough list of all the benefits. There’s the obvious health and financial aspects, but I appreciate you sharing a bit about the emerging delicate emotions and being able to “feel more” instead of feeling numb. Good to hear this while out walking about a week into my journey.
Love, Career, Friendships, Family, Sobriety....all of these journeys are hard to predict, but one of the special things about this community is that we help eachother to not continue living in the dark! Letting the truth out is a key factor in winning this battle!
@@CD-zy5te I’m still going strong with my decision to take a break from alcohol for 30-days. Haven’t felt the need to drink at all even during the holidays.
Now your at 20! Congratulations! If I think about having a drink, or someone offers, I tell myself or them "I don't drink". Seems more affirming than I use to, I quit, or I'm on day ___. But the first few days and weeks? Yea im counting every second! When I'm home and think about it i also make myself do pushups. Take care!
Day 90 today of no alcohol, after 40 years of drinking. ...not really drunk all those years, but definitely a consistent, steady social drinker, with more than a few binges and over consumption in that time. So what have I noticed as far as changes.....probably the biggest is the healing of anxiety and deprrssion. I do sleep better, and have better energy levels. Blood pressure has dropped back into the normal range, although was not high previously, but was elevated. Perhaps a slight weight loss, but do crave sweets and things like chocolate that I didn't particularly care for in the past. Surprisingly, the first 30 days, didn't really have any desire for a drink, but have found in this 60 to 90 day period, had more than a couple of times wanting a drink. But the craving has been short lived each time, usually, just a few minutes. Probably the biggest change ...and I don't mean for this to sound as to much information. ...is my sex life....and the change in my poop.
Congrats to you on hitting the huge milestone of 90 days sober!! You deserve the benefits and I'm glad to hear you've made noticeable improvements. Hi Jae!!! On day 9. Its going good. Painted the shed today and it was really sunny and warm. Said to the wife, you know if there was a good day for a nice cold beer this is it. She was like oh no lol but I was fine. I found that mental preparedness is helping this time. Before when it was sunny and warm that was my excuse to hit the beer store but I found that if I'm mindful of nature like sound of the birds and bugs, and maybe the bikini next door lol just kidding, it feels really good to experience these things sober. I have a lot more energy also to get things done around the yard because I've been able to put the dope away too. I was using as a crutch if the acohol cravings got too much but I haven't needed this time. Really starting to feel better. Like you said though I do have bouts of depression too and I think that's par for the course. And I found meditation helps alot with that. That's about all I got today. Hope your health is getting better Jae. Got finish watching you video. Tty later pal be good!!! :D

That disassociate part is real, I was starting to feel like I was in a dream. Not real
nice comment chuck!!!
The movies sub quote is, “ Change one thing,
Change everything………..”. I love that. All the best. Talk to you again.
💯
Literally

Make this your motto moving forward: I will EARN my sleep
No more running away, no more avoiding, no more hiding. Naps are ok. but most of all, do what you need to do to reduce your daily stress. Maybe do more frequent laundry loads, instead of waiting until it's overwhelming.
Another motto I'm a big fan of is: Just do it now
There's no sense in putting things off, that's also just "tasking it to future you". You ARE future you.
Be on the same team. Be able to count on yourself. Be the change you wish to see!

How'd you go?
Only 2 months? It's been almost 4 years. Not one day off. This is fucked
How much is “a flat per day”?
Can I ask you - what is a "flat per day" ?
For those wondering a “flat” is a 24 pack

I'm 29 years young. I have been in denial about being in denial for far too long. I feel like I'm the biggest hypocrite I know because I never practice what I preach. I've definitely experienced most of these benefits when I've gotten close to 90 days. I've never quite made it to 90 since I've started drinking, but I'm getting there (and much farther) this time.
May you receive all of the blessings coming your way!!
It's never too late to get yourself back! I'm happy to hear from you, and I love your name 😎
I have to admit that I did expect more...more happiness, the first time I stopped drinking. I suppose I made it more difficult when I left my husband, but I made it....for 5 more years.
Day 54 and feeling great !! love the channel, it's a big help

@aedanfiretiger im 35 also. And I've decided to quit for 90 days and see how I feel. I'm pretty active but need to get back into shape! I'm kinda getting fat 😕 lol

Glad you're not riding a motorcycle when you're not sober any more. Sheesh

It's been almost a year since you posted this, I sure hope that you are still doing great, if not reread your own post
If you don’t do drugs or smoke, why put poison alcohol in your system.

haha alright!! I designed the videos to be like having a friend giving you a daily pep talk. I'm glad they are still working 💪🏼
One week sober and my panic attacks are GONE
Sobriety is the best, and though I often thought that I was sober when I was drinking, like between bouts of drinking, I don’t think I really was. There was always a longing for alcohol and a kind of treading water between drinking sessions, not real sobriety. Waking up after a deeply restful night’s sleep is only the tip of the sobriety iceberg. Good luck to everyone starting an alcohol free life.
Love the positivity Patrick!

I am trying to quit. I did abstain for 82 days earlier this year. Then, I relapsed. I have set May 1st as my new quit date. Struggling with the process. Since this is a no judgement community, seeking a few words that will lift me up.
A few words hmmmm.... OK! How about:
1. create a checklist of all of your enemies to your sobriety such as people, places, things, activities. What stresses you out? Who encourages you to make worse decisions. How do you deal with boredom and anxiety? What places trigger you drink? What Activities? What routines? Complete the list, repost it here, and I'll know you're taking this seriously Manab! You have 24 hours to complete this challenge for your next instruction =)
Btw have you subscribed yet? You'll search the rest of your life for a sober content creator to get back to you this in depth. Use this opportunity wisely.
@@GettingSoberAgain What stresses me out? Boredom
What places trigger? Natural settings with my friends.
I need to change a lot, and I am willing to embrace that change. Thank you for the support.
Take care 😂

Keep going!!!

Thanks so much for you inspiration and sharing your experience with us all. xx

Day 6, lifetime to go! Excited to keep following your content
Hey hey alright!!!! this was episode 90, we just released episode 171 recently. let me know when you catch up lol (and make sure to comment on every video so I can write you back!)
90 days today 🎉
Let's goooooo!!!! YOU DID IT!!!! 🥳🥳🥳
Thanks for the video got a long way go
Enjoyed this one.
Awesome!! I look forward to hearing more progress from you (I also smoke more than I had hoped lol)
Great bro 👍🏻
Interesting, every time I go to a party I stop to get a cigar or pack of cigarettes to keep me from drinking. Helps for sure but no good
I hear ya Tomahawk! One step at a time, one day at a time. If a cigar helps you to not drink, and then not drink and drive and not make other piss poor decisions, well, that's what works for you 🥳
@@GettingSoberAgain Thanks man! Want to thank you for your work. Your channel will grow brother, all the best!
Well you can thank me by sending something nice to my brand new P.O. Box if you want :)

I was drinking a bottle of whisky every 3 days and about 3 cans of beer a day, I did this for about 3 years, things started to go really wrong, I woke up one day and said that's enough, that was 15 months ago... haven't had a drop since.......
Wow, I can totally relate to that! Congratulations on your GREAT SUCCESS! VERY NICE!
WOW! Thank you for this.
Hi Victor just checking in to see how you are doing! this is a great community here at getting sober and I am glad you are here!
@@CD-zy5te I’m still going strong with my decision to take a break from alcohol for 30-days. Haven’t felt the need to drink at all even during the holidays.
@@victorongpin7354 that is really great to hear Victor! 👍
Great encouragement. I'm on day 17!
Take care!
Great episode, Jae! You touched base on much-needed topics!
oh wow! this one was pretty good. the intro was a little long for my liking these days lol. I might trim it in the future 🤷
We most recently put put an episode about sugar cravings after getting sober. Look for it in this playlist.

Great video as always. Super detailed and informative.
Curbing the spring/summer cravings would be a good video topic. Not sure if you’ve covered that one yet
Great idea brother thank you for the tip!
And I appreciate all the love as always! I worked really really hard on this episode and I'm very proud of it. I'm hoping that this will be a timeless piece that people will resonate with or the next 10 years
@@GettingSoberAgain “thoughts and cravings are not the same thing” that resonated with me. Makes total sense.
I hope this video blows up for you and you grow even more. Hard work pays off- keep er goin’
Came for the info, stayed for the micro giggles in between each benefit
AAWWWWWWWWWW!!! you're an angel haha. You'd be surprised how many people send me negative messages for my giggles. Keep being you!
Hi Jae!!! :D
Day 9! Nice work 👊
@@bigrus0078 thanks pal!!! :D
One week sober! Looking forward to hitting one month and then three months
