ApplepieFTW Yeah it doesn’t but if you notice, professionals tend to have only one fine tuner on the E string, which *kinda serves as a display of their skill level.
Mind Twister Apparently it is believed that fine tuners on the tailpiece of a violin could cause buzzing and lessen your tone quality, even affecting sound projection(on steel strings),plus the E string is quite hard to tune with just pegs so......Leaving just one fine tuner on a violin is also a matter of tradition among pros and also *indicates that your violin is of high quality and uses strings made out of animal guts and connective tissue (strictly not always the case)
My thoughts exactly. He has more musicianship in his little finger than some adult violinists. His lyrical passages are exquisitely rendered. I can't wait to see what he will sound like in about 7 years.
Lest we all forget that this was written for the VIRTUOSO Sarasate... The composition alone is a tall order and yet we have an 11 year old playing it. props fersure
i feel like its a little bit disgracing for someone to put jascha heifetz as their username but i'll just play along with it. OMG JASCHA, YOU ARE THE GREATEST VIOLINIST OF ALL TIME.

Christian Li and Chloe Chua are my favorite violinists of all time. I admire them more than any adult players I've ever encountered. They both represent the very best life has to offer. God bless their precious souls.
He's always incredible, maybe once in lifetime violinist. Even his posturing and body language is all incorporated into the music. Music and musician are one. Words are inadequate! Enjoy and be amazed. Thank you Christian and all those who contributed to your musical genius. You're a joy and a gift to the world.
Would he have surpassed his original teachers by now? Must be amazing to discover a small child with exceptional talent in your class. 6 years of violin playing and this good plus the musical emotional maturity. Enthralling.
At the age of 11, you've already stamped your own hallmark in classical music world. I can feel you living in your music. You're truly a professional violinist Christian Li! ❤️❤️
He shows extraordinary musicality complemented by excellent technique. One of the best young violinists in the world today. Musically inspiring and exciting to watch him develop even further. A humble and endearing personality who will exceed expectations.
I doesn't seem possible someone of that age could have access to such emotions, but there you have it. Wow!!! I must be hiding an old soul in the tiny frame!!!
When I was 11 yrs old, I was just playing Bach concerto in a minor. Christian is such a big role model for me! I am looking forward to watching more amazing videos such as this one. Thanks!
When I was that young I was only playing the first movement of Mozart's A major violin concerto in a robotic fashion. This kid is truly a child prodigy.
Of one thing I am certain, and it is this - he is the clear-cut reincarnation of one of the world's great great violinists who passed on a long time ago, and have returned to complete what they feel they did not get to achieve in their time. There is no other plausible explanation - this wonderful musician is a fully-blown mature violinist of international standing.
Dynamite performance! What a talent! The whole thing: facial expressions, music quality, body language--just everything. Completely delightful! Thank you all who contributed to this performance, including (of course) Camille Saint-Saens! Blessings!
Bravo Christian!! Your interpretation is truly amazing. I would think this is a mature violinist's playing if I listen without watching the video 💐💐 Keep going!!
This was breathtaking. I’m incredibly happy to call myself a violinist when people like you are too. I’m am very proud of the hard work you’ve put into this beautiful performance. You are truly talented, but more than that, you have an incredible work ethic, discipline and consistency. You’re amazing, and I can’t wait to hear more from you in the coming years. I admire you quite a lot. Keep it up!
Thank you for wonderful music! Am so happy to start the day with Camille Saint-Saens and you make it so much more magical for this 76-year-old woman from the Sonoran Desert of Southwest USA!
Yikes....the poise, emotion and sophistication of phrasing...how music WORKS is more deeply understood and communicated than I dare say MOST professionals. Almost alarming and so natural sounding. Can't wait to see what's next! A zillion bravos.
I quite love ur interpretation!! it felt so different and unique at the same time! Amazing! and i spotted the pianist flipping the pages on her own!! hahaha she's also amazing!
It takes excellent technique and profound musicality to make an artist. Christian already has an abundance of both. He is on the threshold of a wonderful career.
I'm not going to comment on his musical prowess, to my untrained ear it sounds sublime, in spite of his age, but what struck me was the obvious pure enjoyment he gets from playing and performing and his ability to more than adequately convey this to his audience. Hope to see a lot more from him in the future.
The modern age has produced many extraordinarily talented people in many fields of endeavour but does not diminish this young person or other’s achievements
Christian Li, eres un genio!!, cuanto talento tienes por Dios!. Y lo mejor es que te vas superando en cada interpretación cada vez más! Felicitaciones genio!!!...
I’ve just started to watch these vids of this young genius. This is one of my favourite pieces on the violin. He reminds me of another young violinist Oscar Han who also played this at a young age. Both are brilliant, I think Christian shows more expression, they both play perfectly, all the right notes. Oscar plays the better staccato, unless Christian meant to play this way but it did need more speed. I’m not forgetting he was only 11 when he played this. I can see this young musician going a long way.
*has four fine tuners on his violin yet plays like a master.Truly the greatest flex ever.
Your tailpiece won't change your skill, it turns out
ApplepieFTW Yeah it doesn’t but if you notice, professionals tend to have only one fine tuner on the E string, which *kinda serves as a display of their skill level.
Why does a fine tuner define how good of a player you are in the first place anyways, all cellists have fine tuners too
Mind Twister Apparently it is believed that fine tuners on the tailpiece of a violin could cause buzzing and lessen your tone quality, even affecting sound projection(on steel strings),plus the E string is quite hard to tune with just pegs so......Leaving just one fine tuner on a violin is also a matter of tradition among pros and also *indicates that your violin is of high quality and uses strings made out of animal guts and connective tissue (strictly not always the case)

Have a beautiful day! All the best to you! From a Vietnamese Mandolinist ❤
Thanks grandpa Tchaikovsky
he miss some notes tho', but for his age, this performance is still amazing.
Nope, this is 100% practice and 100% perfection
Amen. Exquisite.
This is not a prodigy anymore , he is now an accomplished musician.
Stanley true af
Prodigy means a very exceptionally gifted young person.
jesinon true but a professional status is more appropriate , most prodigious musicians don’t have this level of interpretation.
@@stanley1596 It is not about being "prodigious" (huge or enormous) but about being a "prodigy" - early development. He is a prodigy for sure.
qrst2008 nice opinion
Remarkable performance, at any age. At 11 years old, it is extraordinary. He has a maturity in his playing that is beyond his years.
Waaaayy beyond
My thoughts exactly. He has more musicianship in his little finger than some adult violinists. His lyrical passages are exquisitely rendered. I can't wait to see what he will sound like in about 7 years.
that is true. He is a pro, and is still a boy. Fantastic!
Gosh fellas reincarnation hasn’t occurred to you yet?
yep! the emotional charge in your music is of unexpected maturity!
he attac, he protecc, but most importantly- he plays impecc able
I will quote Twoset: "You can't hear he's 11."
My dear, you're on your way to stardom! I wish I could watch you live some day.
As said, although lingling is only 11, he still practice da 40 hrs a day
sammiechuu I’ve seen him live in Cheltenham, UK and met him on a train back to London. He’s pretty awesome!
If I watched him live, I'd go home and bathe in low self esteem and cry myself to sleep.
@@nanzhao8986 According to the BBC News article a couple of months ago he practices 4 hours a day.
@@Gillie2tat so it must be 4 hours of perfection and the efficiency of that 4 hours is literally 400%

I wish they were still alive today to see children playing these pieces.

When I was that young I was only playing the first movement of Mozart's A major violin concerto in a robotic fashion. This kid is truly a child prodigy.

I like how he checked his intonation with a soft pizzicato before the next part at 7:54. Let’s be honest, all violinists can relate to that.
