I'm so impressed. You are so talented! You've become one of my violinist idols. It's so impressive. I am 12 and I started to play 3 months ago. I'm such a noob...This song is one of my greatest dreams. I believe I will be able to play this piece in some years. I'll give everything I've got. You're so amazing. I loved your interpretation
Me yup. IM 12 TOO! except I've been playing for eight years, and even after eight years this song is way out of my reach. But I hope to play it in a couple years, I wish you the best of luck. p.s dont worry I'm a big noob too 😂 all I do is listen to classical music
Im 17 now, i have been playing piano for 4 years and although the piano only serves as accompaniment this is my dream too, i wish i´ll find a great violinist to play this piece with :D
Geneva just made the finals of the Naumburg International Violin Competition in New York, one of the most prestigious competitions in the world. Geneva was the youngest finalist by six years.
As a fellow violinist, this is THE BEST cover _because_ it's like you're enjoying it yourself and it's *beautiful*. Many ppl look too focused/tensed and the "music" seems forced ( hope you read this and smile )
i feel exactly the same, i just tried to play the guitar but couldn't learn a lot after i got bored of it but i'm going to save some money to buy a piano and then give my hands to it till i die :v
ExpertTennis I played violin for about 10 years, and unfortunately I had been off for the past 6 years now. But seeing such a wonderfull performance led me to take back my instrument a few weeks ago. It'll take long before I can play again properly, but still, thank you for the motivation you've inducted. Saying you play amazingly well wouldn't be enough. Thank you again for this (among many others) performances, keep going like this ! Best Regards from France.
i have no idea what other people say, staccato this, overplay that... i only now i'm sitting here with goosebumps unable to close my mouth. i.. i.. just wow
truly excellent playing...hard to believe u were only 16!...may i ask what age u are now?...i love your "biting" staccato!..hope u keep it up, as i think u have a wonderful future ahead of u...go well!..
It's an amazing performance and a beautiful sound. I noticed that the pianist sometimes was out of the rhythm, but when I heard it 10 times. Because of the nice combination and the well playing you don't notice the defects.
I grew up with an old vinyl recording of Heifetz playing this; it was one of my formative and favorite pieces of music. Your performance here - brought me exactly ZERO disappointments or disagreements. Not a one. Thanks. :-) You are a joy to hear, and to watch.
i´´m not into violin, but the music is beautiful, and the performance great, it looks really hard, but you make it look easy, like a genius. thanks for sharing!! :D
omg i feel you haha, mine gave me paganini 16. caprice i so badly want to play this piece it is truly my favorite. but i just finished with the bruch concert and its really really nice and so much fun to play so dont be too sad:)
don't be sad! I played Bruch concerto when I was 12 (this March) and now I'm playing Mendelssohn violin concerto, Introduction and rondo caprice, and Bach violin partita no.3 couple of months later! Good luck :)
Some of the best performance I've seen, full of details, subtle and very very expressive, full of delicacy and right strenght, keep an eye on her, Cheers for this goddes of strings !
I'm in the 8th grade and been playing the violin since the 5th grade I just finished your lie in april and found sheet music and downloaded it I have attempted it but gave up watching this and seeing you being at an early age (younger than 18) has inspired me to try again at this song.
When you want to play this (I really desire to) but you realise you can't even play "Twinkle, twinkle little star" on the violin. :'C Congratulations for such wonderful playing
what can I say ? She's got it. Imagination, a beautiful tone, no intonation problems, tempo and rubato all over the place when needed, etc... A real solist.
Wow! I wish I started playing the violin at a very young age. I am in my 20s now and I just started learning how to play; I am not sure if I will be able to play at that level. And, you are beautiful as well :)
Ok. I love Your Lie In April too. Its my favrouite Anime series and im obbsessed with it. But can you people ACTUALLY appreciate the ACTUAL music. Also wanna know something?? Kaori and Kosei are not actuall living beings. WOAH REALLY?! Shes a Wonderfull violinist, Not an anime character. Plus the pianist in the back couldent be Kosei because hes like 40 years old.. Lamfo
Piece of advice. Love this type and genre of music for the music itself. Not because you have seen it in Your Lie in April. Because if you only like this music because you've seen the show, once the show tapers off, or you got fed up already, you will lose interest. But, if you really take the time and effort to understand AND appreciate the music, and the instruments, even without the show, you will remain interested. Because you've come to a point where you like classical music because of its own merit. Not because of something else. That is the reason many are angry at people who come to this page because merely of the show. They're not appreciating the music for what it really is. They're like bandwagoning the music because they've seen it on TV. Classical Music is a high form of art. It takes takes time to learn and lots of discipline to master and perfect. We must give it the justice it truly and really deserve. BTW. I also watch your lie in April. But, I only got to it because I already listen to classical music before that. Watching the show increased my appreciation and compelled me to love music myself. At least I'm proud to say that, had I have the money, I would have taken real piano or violin lessons, and see myself perform onstage. But I only went far as nervously performing the first two pages of canon in c with only the treble clef. Improvising along the way. haha.
Music Savant Accountant I agree 100%. Classical tells a story beyond words and should be appreciated for what it is that makes it so great. Not just for an anime that featured it. Don't get me wrong, i had never heard this piece until the anime BUT I love this song for what it is and the emotions it brings in me. Not because it's popular. I love seeing the joy and love that the violinist puts into this piece as well. Thank you for putting things straight. And for those that haven't seen the other comments, PLEASE don't compare a real person to an anime. This song has been around longer then anime has and violinists have been slaying it for years. Amazing job
I watched Your Lie in April when I was like 11, that anime showed me my passion ^^ now I'm 14-15 and I go to a music school where I learn piano 😊 It's a good thing for some people But I'm not commenting "Kaori-chan and Kousei-kun >~
I echo TheConsultingViolinist in saying, "Brava!" This left me moist-eyed and open-mouthed. "Magnificent" doesn't do it justice. I can't wait for the super-stellar career that clearly awaits, to unfold.
SPOILER ALERT: 80% of comments are about "Your lie in april"
Yo people who came from Shigatsu wa kimi no uso, I'm glad you're enjoying this and that's why you should listen to more of these babies 😉😉
ChriZ Topher220 I liked classical music before watching Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso, but this was the chance to know more beautiful music 💕
Classical music and sad romance got together and made shigatsu wa kimi no uso
She is in love with the violin. you can see it in here face
and you can hear it in her playing :)
It's totally platonic
Gotta say, she's in love with music. Not just the violin. You can see that when she stops playing and the accompianist is continuing the song.
Almost as much as kaori

It’s not talent she practiced 40 hours a day like ling ling
Nothing is impossible

I do indeed smile while reading your comment. Thank you.
Some are like this because some violinists like Brett in Twosetviolin express it all to the playing
7:00 When the brawl begins... xD
That part was very amazing :D
Francox 300
Who the fuck would dislike this :(
+Alexandre BEAUCOLIN Indeed but it still enjoyable.
Probably because its speeded up
+Alexandre BEAUCOLIN What? The piano is just the accompanist. The violin is supposed to OVERPOWER the piano. Smh for the dislikers.
+Bruno Rugani why do you say it's sped up? this is the speed of the piece...
I dont think so. its no use arguing about it, its a very small difference
bowing level: angelic
Nobody cares if you are here for Shigatsu wa kimu no uso. Just enjoy the music.
To me cares
Guess who doesn't deserve their hands anymore?
/points to self/
*sigh*
i feel exactly the same, i just tried to play the guitar but couldn't learn a lot after i got bored of it but i'm going to save some money to buy a piano and then give my hands to it till i die :v
Lets crash our hands together

It's an amazing performance and a beautiful sound. I noticed that the pianist sometimes was out of the rhythm, but when I heard it 10 times. Because of the nice combination and the well playing you don't notice the defects.
Daniel Hamzai I'm not the only one that listen to this 1000 times
Daniel Hamzai same, i noticed that they were kind of out of sync sometimes but it still sounded great!
Daniel Hamzai i agree
Wow, I love it when I see someone so young playing this tough piece (one of my absolute favourites) so beautifully in command!
I grew up with an old vinyl recording of Heifetz playing this; it was one of my formative and favorite pieces of music. Your performance here - brought me exactly ZERO disappointments or disagreements. Not a one. Thanks. :-) You are a joy to hear, and to watch.
She was born in 1998 and she is from New Zealand. She currently lives in the USA (California)

Awesome! Perfect! a piece of art!!! :D She's GORGEUS!!
When you tell your violin teacher you want to learn this but he says no and gives Bruch Concerto instead :(
U shouldn't be sad about it. Bruch is great too!
why so?
omg i feel you haha, mine gave me paganini 16. caprice i so badly want to play this piece it is truly my favorite. but i just finished with the bruch concert and its really really nice and so much fun to play so dont be too sad:)

Joseph Guardafavo Kousei would never hold himself back as in this piece
Joseph Guardafavo ikr
Why you guys calling every violin and piano player Kousei and Kaori?
"oh someone plays piano and violin well together they must be them!!!!!"
I thought grandpas don’t watch anime
That guys like 30 wtf
Some of the best performance I've seen, full of details, subtle and very very expressive, full of delicacy and right strenght, keep an eye on her, Cheers for this goddes of strings !

To be honest the bow work is so freaking perfect like nothing can beat that
Beautiful, Geneva!!! :)
what can I say ? She's got it. Imagination, a beautiful tone, no intonation problems, tempo and rubato all over the place when needed, etc... A real solist.
she did such an amazing and perfect perfomance. Words can't express, really beautiful.
Wow! I wish I started playing the violin at a very young age. I am in my 20s now and I just started learning how to play; I am not sure if I will be able to play at that level.
