i know this is an old video, but I got a chuckle out of the " and the cowbell, for when you need 'more of it'!!! Good show BIAB!!!! You have a pleasant narrative voice, thanks . . . .
Man, I used to have SP2 but no longer have it and want to score a copy as I'd rather not waste the space and money on SP3. But can't find it anywhere :(
You can select an instrument for tweaking by right-clicking on it, instead of choosing it from the dropdown menu. This can be done in both the standard view and the classic view. Nice review though!!
i was originally under the impression that in superior drummer you can mix and match pieces from all the ezdrummer kits and expansions, is that true or untrue?
Can you play on the drumsets with midi? I got a electric drumset home, but it doesnt sound very good, so i wonder if i could buy superior drummer and use my drumkit with the program...
Hello mate, you mentioned the clip when you first load a snare or other kit piece. I noticed you have the cached button selected, having that selected is what is causing the clip. Without it selected it loads in all the samples in advance. The downside of that of course is that you end up using a massive amount of RAM when using a large kit with lots of bleed. Anyway Cool videos take care
You don't appear to have the grooves choice on the menu up there.. Is that only on the 2.1 update? Its a very useful feature like Ezdrummer has, so making SD even better!
I have a question. Can you program your own grooves in superior drummer or do you need to do it in another program before you load the sounds in conjunction with your groove?
Hello, i've just bought SP 2.0 and i have some trouble with the path to the library. The instalation went fine but when i launch it on my DAW, the vst doesn't find the sound library, even if i indicate the good repertory. It seems to be an usual problem with SP 2.0 but i can't find any solution. Does anyone has a clue ? Thanks for your help.
@Jamesmsv I do too for the most part but it's tedious as hell clicking in everything for a blast beat etc. You can customise the midi loops too so I find it speeds up my work alot.
all fine though you say NOTHING about how to trigger the drum sounds... i'm supposed to record a drum track by hitting and cllcking the mouse in real time? hmm don't think so
Andrew Bonica yes - well I have a drumkat and was just trying to find something that would tell me if it was in some way triggerable from that - or only via some other method...
forgive me for sounding like a novice... but what is torrent? I'm about to purchase superior drummer and I'd like to access lots of grooves to download! thanks in advance
goldensleeves torrenting is essentially, very basically, downloading stuff but instead of whatever you're downloading being on one server, lots of people have it and have to give out little bits of it so other people can download it and then proceed to give or seed it to others. make sense? torrenting is usually done to acquire software, videos, music, etc. "illegally", so it's sort of frowned upon by most legitimate businesses, etc. but some people use it for legal things. an example being some Linux distros. Anyways, technically you can get pretty much any software you want for free, but it's also technically illegal. well.. that gets into the legality of distribution vs downloading, and then the moral issues etc etc etc, so... i guess just think about if you wanna support the developers or not. a lot of people try out the software by torrenting it to see how well it works/if they like it, and then if they do like it, they'll buy it. that's a good method. that's what demos are for, but sometimes demos just aren't enough. anyways, think about it for yourself and see what you come up with. if you wanna go legal, buy from the company. if you wanna do things a little differently, google a torrent for whatever software you want. if you do so, you'll need a client like Transmission, Deluge, or Utorrent to be able to download. Remember, be a responsible, respectable pirate. support the developers if you use their software~
Why use it at all. Is this used to record along with commercial music, while recording it on the computer? I'm not a pro and i'm not a fricking sound engineer. And WTF? does SD2 have to do with the bible?
DO NOT JUDGE SUPERIOR ON THE PRESETS - i.e., all the sounds used here. They are *all* absolute garbage. With some tweaking it sounds so ridiculously much better. Most people who use Superior don't actually use it very well.
i know this is an old video, but I got a chuckle out of the " and the cowbell, for when you need 'more of it'!!! Good show BIAB!!!! You have a pleasant narrative voice, thanks . . . .
Just got hold of this software and found out quite how much there is to get my head round. This is a good, concise overview, cheers!
Love this! Yep, you're seeing my real picture....I'm a 55 year old female drummer amd play till I die. : )
i would bet a lady drummer would be major great in the sack
just a theroy :). rythumic,swinging, hard hitting
Rock out sister!
Gail Yarbrough who cares
i used to be a lady!
Thanks for the review, very helpful. Btw what are some contradictions in the bible?
For those, wondering about the dislikes: He made a (good) joke about the bible.
And an accurate one.
Thank you, I was very curious, with how good this video seems.
That joke was so smooth. That was my favorite part along with fitting in the use of the word punctilious.
All those who downvoted for religious reasons: I, hypocrite.....
Man, I used to have SP2 but no longer have it and want to score a copy as I'd rather not waste the space and money on SP3. But can't find it anywhere :(
Great review!
YOU HIT THE COWBELL ONLY ONCE? WTF MATE?
ua-cam.com/video/l3eDi0QjJy4/v-deo.html thank me later
i like the idea of your reviews and im hoping for the pillar of electronic music MASSIVE synthesizer review
liked for the humor!
oh my god.. loved this.
Is it worth upgrading from Ezdrummer to this???
You can select an instrument for tweaking by right-clicking on it, instead of choosing it from the dropdown menu. This can be done in both the standard view and the classic view.
Nice review though!!
Thanks for the tips mate
i was originally under the impression that in superior drummer you can mix and match pieces from all the ezdrummer kits and expansions, is that true or untrue?
@ViciousHead Do you mean midi as in drum loops? If so, no way! I like to write all my own parts, even if the double kick can get a bit tedious.....
@ViciousHead I didn't know you could customize the loops, thanks for the info, probably would be worth checking out in that case.
Can you play on the drumsets with midi? I got a electric drumset home, but it doesnt sound very good, so i wonder if i could buy superior drummer and use my drumkit with the program...

I own a Yamaha DTXplorer kit, can I run it through this software to get more sounds from it?
I have a question. Can you program your own grooves in superior drummer or do you need to do it in another program before you load the sounds in conjunction with your groove?
i have a question: i don't know how to use keyboard for Superior drummer, how to add the keyboard input for Superior Drum
everything sounds pretty good besides that awful kick
Hello, i've just bought SP 2.0 and i have some trouble with the path to the library. Hello! I'm pretty sure you can. A friend of mine got and electronict drum set (Roland HD-1) and he uses it with Superior Drummer.

HI BRO
I AM KINDLY ASKING FOR HELP ON HOW TO INSTALL ToonTrack Superior Drummer ON WINDOWS 10. WAITING TO HEAR FROM YOU.
how would you link it to logic pro? Would it just come under "Audio Units" in the channel strip?
It is a vst so once installed logic pro should pick it up as an instrument.
Thinking about getting this, I have Steven Slate but the Toms and overheads are awful. Though the kicks in Slate are better by miles.
is this in kontackt
no, this is a standalone vst

@davidthegreat06 You can add the grooves option to SD 2 by installing Toontrack EZ Player Pro.
"More contradictions here than there are in the bible" - LOL!
:) thanks
there are no contradictions in the bible. your mistake shows clearly that you never opened a bible
no take backs
You're a moron. The bible has more contradictions than any other book in history.
I concur. I prefer BFD
@Jamesmsv Hey James, get hold of some of midi packs (from toontracks site). If you are working with metal they are essential.

Pretty sure I saw a copy for Atari 3600 recently..
all fine though you say NOTHING about how to trigger the drum sounds... i'm supposed to record a drum track by hitting and cllcking the mouse in real time? hmm don't think so
+antigen4 you use a midi keyboard or an electronic drum set..
That's because this was a review of the software, not the basics of electronic drumming.
Andrew Bonica yes - well I have a drumkat and was just trying to find something that would tell me if it was in some way triggerable from that - or only via some other method...
+antigen4 Of course you could. Plenty of examples online. Also Toontrack has their manuals online. Good luck.
Andrew Bonica yep - i'm just not familiar with all this VST stuff. I record to tape mostly lol
lol so true
This guy LOVES to pronounce his words correctly,
"If you're hipster and want to show how old school you are" HAHAHAHA!

Kenny Ken Hey maybe just support the software developers and get them paid for making these huge sounds?
of course. its fully programmable with lots of samples for each drumhits. so its sounds truly real...cause it is real.
More cowbell lol
lol, more samples than contradictions in the bible
GOOD REVIEW. LOVE THE BIBLE SHADE AT THE END, SO TRUE. HAHA LOL
I prefer xln audio AD in kicks...
Why use it at all. Is this used to record along with commercial music, while recording it on the computer? I'm not a pro and i'm not a fricking sound engineer. And WTF? does SD2 have to do with the bible?

Nice slam on The Bible toward the end. Not necessary, dude.
+Patrick Skelton It's sad that him saying there are contradictions in the bible made you salty enough to comment.

Too much waffle.
Great review. However, there really are no contradictions in the bible only people who doesn't know how to read it correctly. In my humble opinion :o)
