This is a short tutorial showing the possibilities with Toontrack EZ Drummer 2.
My 10 year search for a drummer is over.
Sovereign King estamos en las mismas xd
Sovereign King so is mine -- but i've been searching for 25!
thanks, man..i downloaded the demo and i'm using it now and it really is something, and i've not even gotten the whole thing yet -- only bad thing is you gotta pay to get extra loops to work with. but it's worth it to not have to deal with shitty drummers and big egos...lol
i can see that already..i've been working on this one song for months, never able to get the drum part through loops and i even took it to a drummer to proceeded to suck the life out of it...in just a few hours,I've been able to find the groove myself with this ezdrummer. hey from north carolina.....
***** It's the next best thing to a decent drummer!
I've had ezdrummer 2 for a few years and I had no idea that the song creator parts could do any of this stuff. Holy crap, this is great.
Ummm... me too.. 🙄
Me 3, actually knew it, forgot it, now back to learning it. The key is tapping in something that sorta matches your riff.
With EZ Drummer 3 on the way, I'm really hoping Ola does an updated video! I've already got it pre-ordered through the discounted update (originally purchased EZD2 shortly after this vid was posted), but it's always fun and inspiring to watch Ola work with the tool!
There is a good drummer somewhere who dreams about EZGuitarist!))
Exactly like me.
@@giuliano8031 Check out shreddage 3 or Odin software ;)
@@ukaszkozakiewicz5345 you have to know what to write, good luck writing guitar without studying ;)
Shreddage 3 Rogue, and Shreddage 3 Abyss. 😬 I’m also a drummer who searched for a guitar playing human for far too long. Hope these help!
But computer can't give you that feel of a guitarist because guitarists improvise every note with their current state of mind which obviously computer can't and computed guitar music will sound same all the time with a robotic feel.
As a progressive rock guitarist and singer, having dealt with so many loud mouth, hard headed drummers over the years, this software will help me not have to deal with them. And will expand making better drum tracks for recording. Great review. Thank you Ola.
I still use these tips 4 years later. Awesome. Lets have more of this Ola. 🤘
That tap to find idea is freaking awesome. Almost worth buying the program just to have access to that feature.
"Tap to find" makes this an instant upgrade. Thanks for the tutorial!
This workflow is freaking AWESOME! Thank you so much for sharing this Ola... For a single musician who basically just wants to get the drums out of the way - but still sounding kickass and unique - this is the perfect workflow.
Hey Ola---- I am not a heavy metal fan but your video really changed my whole mindset. I was looking for information about EZ Drummer and your video is totally excellent in demonstrating the options available to create really good drum tracks. Whether it's heavy metal or jazz or country------ You made me realize it's all about rhythm no matter what the style of music. Wow it's really an endless subject.
Man, Ola coming through in 2021 for me all the way back in 2014. I gotta go buy this now.
That was extremely helpful and I appreciate it!! I just bought the EZdrummer and Metal EZX addition pack and WOW, I am a humble guitarist, and not a drummer, so this takes out a lot of the stress on piece mailing it like I was with the non ezdrummer loops and samples. I have Studio One and it took some doing, but I have it now, and I just needed your guidance there!! Thanks!!
I love this program. Toontrack I must admit is like the best option I found to use for drums. version 1 was awesome. 2 just makes it even sweeter.
Fast accurate and to the point without unnecessary hupla explanation. Ezdrummer seems like a breeze.
I wish more tutorials would be like this, straight to the point of how to use in practise, not an hour long vids of what each button and function does. Well done.
Yep lol
This is still the best tutorial in 2021. Thanks Ola!
Exactly what I have been looking for to begin home recording. I am going to fool around (far away from professional musician) and coming up with some pretty basic metal songs but had NO idea how to add drums. This is actually something even I could possibly figure out. Thanks for taking the time to share this with us Ola.
Excellent tutorial, Thank you ! You just saved me countless hours with my new purchase of EZ Drummer 2. I don't even have to buy this drummer beer to come over and jam :) Thanks again !
this tutorial is superb!!! no extra flowering words.. just teaching the viewers!!!! awesome
Dude, that intro riff is positively delectable!
Ola, this is one of your best tutorials EVER!!! Toon Track is lucky to have you as their Salesman! I have Superior Drummer 2.0, but this new version of EZ Drummer looks, well... EZ!
Screw the drums... what the hell are you cookin' under that guitar tone??

@@oiyabastard7275 i checked out that band and all i can say is thank you
He's using EZ Mix
Just got it today. Yours was the first video I watched. Awesome and simple!!! Thank you!
Thanks. That's the best tutorial I've seen on this. Really helpful
Awesome video man, really emphasizing the EZ part of their product too. I personally suck at making beats for my projects so this will help for sure!
Why does this guy sound slightly like an imperial guard from Skyrim?
+lostandout oftime really?... Because the words in skyrim are based on Scandinavians...
Racist! REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!
It's funny because he looks like a nord.
@@Gyrbae bc he is a nord
I used to be a metal guitar player like you.......then I took an arrow in the pinky.
I freaking LOVED this information! It is PRICELESS! Thank you SO much!
I knew about some of the options but the way you do it opened my eyes so much!
Stay awesome! \m/
Thank you Ola for this video, I was hesitating to go on EZ Drummer 2 but you definitely convinced me! The Tap2Find is a little marvel
Your reviews are really better when you speak, man!
you just sold a ezdrummer 2 copy. thanks for the amazing video.
I like that EZ has come along way since I used it…that ability to input your tempo and then finds compatible clips is really cool…may have inspired me to shell out the coin for the software
This was the best tutorial I've seen for this.
I miss Matt Damon too :( :D
Great video as always Ola!
hopefully i can get this downloaded. its so discouraging when you want to create music but have no drummer and making beats yourself is hard. Garageband drummer is so limiting but I cant get beats I want
Great tutorial and great guitar work.
so dude, i know this has been posted for awhile but thank you a million times and then some i had a handfull of tracks left for a solo project ive been working on for ever now. Used ez drummer for the last of it annnnd shit was i suprised what it could do had to do very minimal edits n moving around to make stuff work. Thank u brah gonna release a big bastard of an album to make up for all the time i didnt have digital releases out :) will be a blend of ez drummer, real drums and penciled in programmed drums
I've had EZ Drummer 2 for the past 5 years and never knew I could do this...
Same here
Sweet, pretty interested in getting EZ drummer now :P
Excellent pace and usable information!
Awesome tutorial bro. Loved it. opens a new window in adding custom beats. Thanks.
Would you say that there are any key features in Superior Drummer 2 that you would have a hard time letting go of if switching to EZDrummer, either in EQ'ing, Routing, or Sound/Sample packs?
Because this looks super user friendly and fairly feature rich, and sounds really good so far. Well done.
That tone... Not just the drums but the guitar. wtf... I need to get that haha
I use EZ Drummer 2 and like it very much. This tutorial helped me a ton!
the program is so worth the money. pure genius!! thanks for the video man!
Ola, how did each part magically end up to be 8 bars (the exact length) that you needed? Where and how to you set up bar lenghts for verse, chorus, etc. Do we have to work in song parts that are always 8 bars?
I think it's time to upgrade my rig and get this plug-in! Really cool stuff and it will add some life to all my dull music cause I'm not a good drummer and all my songs have those boring repetitive stuff due to lack of good ideas on rhythm that will fit my riffs.
I like this video. I must install this piece of ware on my PC!!!
I love EZ drummer , i use it for all my recordings. its awesome.
Ez drummer has changed quite a bit since I have seen it. Looks really good!
i need this in my life!
Is this a basic drum sound that comes with the software or one of the metal packs?
This is why I ordered EZDrummer 2 yesterday. That´s pretty cool, dude.
Excellent video mate, super informative. Your vid was the first time I saw that song structure feature. Thats a game changer
Ola.. this song is REALLY awesome! I LOVE that chorus! Man, where is your music so I can listen?!
The Haunted
where can I hear this finished song?
I just got Ezdrummer 2! Excellent video Ola. Nice and simple the way I need it. Thanks
Thanks Ola! This helps a lot, especially showed in Logic. Greatness!
This might be a stupid question, but can you still program the drums by dragging and dropping in the piano roll the old fashioned way?
+Alexander Simmons Yeap
thanks
was thinking abt the same
I'm pretty sure it's just through the DAW itself.
Yeah I was wondering the same thing. You can make your own custom beats that way. It's more appealing to me.
I'd just end up doing what I do now: write everything manually, except today I use guitar pro. My groove and fill ideas are pretty unique for the most part, and so I think samples just limit the composition and creativity. The only interesting think is writing in loop. But I think I'll stick with EZ 1, at least for now.
Awesome bro! I have EZ drummer 2 and I love it!! Just bought your album from iTunes!!! Sick man!!! Love it!!! Highly recommended!!
Love the video, this would make drum track composition a lot easier than using a drum kit through a midi keyboard or drum pad. Thanks for posting this one!
I have a question. So I mainly play/write metal songs and i really want to get into utilizing EZdrummer 2 but i dont know if the regular EZdrummer 2 will fit my needs or if i have to upgrade to the metal version. Basically what i am asking is: Will the regular version work for me or would you guys recommend buying the Metal version? Thanks! Any advice helps!
+Takaro depending on your budget I would suggest (in a best case scenario) get the base model version of EZ Drummer and buy just the midi packs from some of the metal packs of drummers like dirk veurbueren (spelling?) Matt halpern Thomas hake and so on. For the actual drum sounds I would suggest grabbing Adam Getgood's new Getgood Drums samples and using that for your final product. Overall the setup will have a few steps, first record what you have to the click and go into your midi library in ezdrummer to find a template that works. Do some light editing in the vst and then drag it Down to a seperate track where you Have Getgood Drums on an identical midi map then open up your daw's midi editor and finish up the work on the drum part and your good to go.
Julian Fitzgerald Have you been able to use GGD with EZDrummer 2?
Pierre-Claude Meriot yes, it takes some tweaking to get them to work properly but the extra work is worth the end product.
Julian Fitzgerald Good lord, how in the world did you get GGD into EZX?!?!?
i didn't get it inside i just drag the midi out of EZX onto a track with GGD as long as the midi notes lines up its all good. i use EZX for writing and demos and GGD for final production. When my midi is done i just drag it over. All midi is universal you can even take EZ keys midi and put it in GGD if you wanted to. like I said though to get them to work you do have to either adjust your GGD map so that when you drag over your midi they perfectly line up or select the groups of notes and redistribute them accordingly. For kick, snare, toms, etc your all good but for hi-hats i like to set them manually when i bring them over because there are a lot more sample options for them in GGD than in EZX. A little hint for final production would be to get the best possible drum sound with GGD and save it as a template so that when you are ready for final production you just drag the midi into your pre-produced project and boom, in a matter of seconds you have big budget album quality drums. This method requires a little extra work to start it off but it is incredibly worth it. Toontrack has great stuff especially with their midi stuff in ez drummer but i think everyone can agree that GGD sounds a lot better and honestly for not all that much more money than you would pay for an EZX expansion, of which in all of the expansions you can buy the midi separate for $30, so you save money and time. I can honestly say that when set correctly their is no discernible difference between GGD and ultra big budget organic drums recorded in a great room.
how was the drums in perfect sync, when he had recorded the guitar before hand?
think i found out, incase anyone else wondering. the "follow host" option in the ezdrummer, makes it in sync with the DAW tempo
Sorry I thought you were dumb for a second and didnt know what a tempo was, what do you mean they dont sinc right off the bat tho?
Great video dude. Good writing too, like the music. This vid pretty much solidified my decision to start using EZ2
This program is just fantastic! I`ll get it! Thanks for the video.
"i use tap to beat myself" lol! anyways great tutorial man, really helps alot.
Just curious how you were able to get your guitar track to play through ez drummer itself?
I know I'm new here on ez drummer i try it no luck hahah
It looks like hes running EZdrummer as a MIDI into his DAW, so you're hearing everything through that when he plays the full track, I dont know much though so I very well can be wrong.
You use another program like pro tools, ez drummer is just a track that you load into the other program
So its like a VST or plugin?
@@xxraventnxx Yes, a vst under the name toontrack, then ez drummer
This video changed my life. Thanks Ola. You shredder you.
Thanks Ola! This looks perfect for me. I cant wait to try it.
I miss Victoria Beckham...
R.i.p
Metallica debe ver este video.
XXVorteXX jajjajaajajaja

Between this and drummer from logic pro x, you can now have very useful drum patterns for projects, hell, even a whole album! I know the pain of programming manually midis, this is just amazing and useful!
EXTREMELY helpful, mate. Ty!
Are you David Guetta xD???
Ashwin Thakur his brother
Hahaha
Ola Guetta 😂😂😂
13 steps to nowhere... just the first chord :D... okey >>>>>>>[]
Thank you for posting this video! Best EZDrummer tutorial!
this is perfect! especially when you do not have time to learn drums to do your tracks, and also finding someone who would do drums in a small town is the worst yet! but this is a real game changer :)
How in the hell is a 5+ year old program still $180 USD
Jordan Jenson can get it for $180 in Australia in AUD.
the answer isL: its a good program.
That riff is ridiculously heavy
Thanks Ola! This is the first tutorial I watched where I understood what to do. I dont know why Toontrack changed everything in version 2. I bought version 2 months ago and wasted hours trying to use it then went back to version 1. Now I can upgrade again and use 2 thanks to you. \m/..\m/
Hot damn! I've been manually adding MIDI notes one at a time because I couldn't find the particular beats I wanted. 'Click to find' got me close, but I kind of assumed I was limited to what the search found. I had no idea how versatile it got from there. Thanks much for the tutorial!
In my opinion this completely takes away from the creativity of song writing... just dragging and dropping pre-made stuff? Really? What happened to people coming up with their own drum tracks and actually having the knowledge of rhythm to do so. This does the entire amount of work for you. People are going to be using these programs as crutches to make up for their own lack of knowledge and rhythm. Just my opinion on the whole thing.
idk, having cool new tools assisting workflow isn't gonna stonewall creativity. Most would just end up with similar sounding grooves... Isn't this just the same argument when it comes to loops or by extension, samples in general?
As long as you achieve the same result you hear in your head, it doesn't matter what to use.
I see what you are saying. I use these types of tools as a basis, then go in and make it my own.
some adults have jobs and dont have the time and just want to create music
What about musicians that cant play drums? or amateurs just starting out with no or little knowledge of making tracks? in my opinion this is just a tool making it easier to get the results you want.
Great video. They did an amazing job on this.
Great guitars and great song! Tnx for the help.
This is actually surprisingly nice, I couldn't imagine that there would be any actually interesting songwriting features, as I usually don't like that sort of thing. This seems like they've done a great job though, as it actually gives you control over the process rather than simply presenting a bunch of premade MIDI files that you just drag and drop. Cool!
This one "old" video just saved me HOURS of a learning curve with EZD2, which I just bought (with Metal add-ons) to do some demo songs! Thank you, Ola!
what metal kits do you reccomend?
@@Dienex Hm, good question. I like both Metal! and Metal Machine. Metal! has fewer "kit" presets, but more choices for "playing/part" presets. Metal Machine has more "kit" presets, but just a few less choices for "playing/part" presets.
My preference is the Metal! package, though. It has more playing/part presets to start from. Still, I'm glad I have both.
Exactly what I needed, thanks dude!
Amazing software. I'm already using bit thanks for the tips!!
This drum machine is woww....Next level...Good show this video...Thank you and greetings from Auckland New Zealand
Holy Shit-I am so freaking backwards. You had your guitars recorded first, then you went looking and matched the drums to what you were playing? Didn't know I could do that!!
I playing the rhythm guitar and writing a song verse by verse, then adding a drum part by drum part, manually match a drum for verse, chorus. Damn I think I better take a look at the manual again. THANK YOU SO MUCH.
awesome, great tool greatly demonstrated!
I bought EZ Drummer 2 and recorded 2 originals. It is amazing, and kinda easy to use. There were a few times that I got a little frustrated cause I couldn't get exactly what I wanted for some parts of the songs, but eventually you come up with something...
I have used Addictive Drums 2 and loved that, but this seems like another level! Thanks for this!!!
Now I have found Superior Drummer 3! Perfect for a solo artist as myself for my original works, to my grunge "band" and my metal "band".. Thanks for the walkthrough!
Thank the allmighty for Toontrack and ALL the EZ products!!!
Thank you Ola; very nice and informative video. Thank you for sharing
Most helpful video I've seen. You just saved me a lot of time. Thanks. \M/
Your videos are so helpful man. Cheers ola keep rockin
Excellent Work Ola - Thank you for the tutorial \m/
very informative! Thanks, I am definitely going to pick this up!
Nice vid man!! Love the guitars too.
Badass!!! Wicked riff too!
