This video really resonated with me. I actually started my roof, gutter cleaning/ pressure washing business after discovering you on tik tok and getting inspired. As you have also experienced i was working many 9-5s from grocery stores, moving companies and phone companies. Im now at a point in my life where i was able to quit my 9-5 job as a delivery driver and im running my own licensed and insured business. So just wanted to take the time out to say thank you and keep doing what your doing and progressing in life because the actions you are taking in your journey truly are impacting peoples lives in a positive matter! Much Love
If you don’t mind me asking man I literally just 2 days ago decided to start my own gutter and window cleaning company I’m having a very difficult time getting clients what did you do to get clients? I’ve been making flyers putting them in peoples mailboxes and also joining Facebook groups but I’ve only had one customer so far
@@jonron5238 Hey Man, I started off door to door just to learn the craft and see what i would need on the day to day. But what helped me alot was running automated ads that brings clients to your store front. Id recommend picking up @SpencerClaeys book on ads, Link to this can be found in the about tab on his home page! Hope this helps!
This is guy SPOT ON. Much better to work for yourself than to work for someone else and you can! Just get a push lawnmower and start out mowing small yards. It's that easy. Save up, get a weed eater. Start literally that small. Get hedge trimmers, pole saw, trailer, better weed eater, start cleaning gutters....mainly it's looking nice, not smoking all the time or playing on your phone, be courteous, do what you say you will. They will tell their friends. Get into small repairs..... OR focus on one task. It's not hard to make it in America IF you want to work.
What's up Brother. After a year of blueprinting my small business and knocking on doors without sales, I finally landed my first one today. What you speak is all truth.
Hey Spencer, maaan that's the spirit! You got a new fan right here! I'm painting murals for a living and I can relate to so many things you're saying. Your videos are very relatable and you seem like a humble, hard working dude. I just love when people are passionate about their business. Keep it up brother! 💪
Really impressed by your channel, usually this type of content is full of scams and weird schemes but you actually offer a real product and put in real work! Good on you for being honest in this sphere.
Thank you Spencer for the motivation!! you the man. One question, because you're up on the roof what type of safety measures do you take? I like the Idea but I don't trust myself or feel safe walking around up there like you do.
Hey Spencer, Thanks, im 58 years old and looking for a new career. Im just starting a new job spraying grass and would like to give myself a year to start my own business and get it off the ground. I'll buy your book. Does the brushing damage the shingles?
Confused on the book course, you say all you basically need is a brush, ladder and leaf blower. But then you're talking about soft washing it, which is a lot more equipment. Can you clarify? Seems like you're saying to soft wash it and zinc treat you, which is alot more equipment.
I’ve done the Alaskan Fisherman thing to , I was in Kodiak 2018-2021 salmon seasons. I have a chimney cleaning business now but it looks like I need to be cleaning roofs to.
Hey bro great video, keep up the good work…was just wondering what size & brand ladder do you use? It seems pretty long so surprised you can move it on your own, I’m assuming its not heavy at all? Maybe it is? You are in pretty good shape lol
Those who always comment “oh but you have this, or you have that, and you have privilege” will most likely NEVER make it big in life. Not even moderately successful. Never take advice from someone who looks for excuses of how he can’t do something. That is a poverty well which has no bottom.
Exactly, like 50 cent has said “life isn’t fair, you can complain or do something about it” doesn’t matter who you are do what you have with what you got
Do all houses have roof anchors? I wanna do this but I could see myself getting scared on the edges lol. If I could harness up on every job just until I get use to it that would be great 😂.
What is the powder you're applying to the roof? Laughing after hearing that people have actually said "oh well it's easy for you" the startup cost for this and many other service businesses is very low. Unless you have a physical disability that prevents you from doing the work there is really no excuse...
one thing thats always confused me is there whole speed is king concept like if the job is done fast isnt that taking more money away? like if you take 3 hours, wouldnt that make you more money rather than like 1 hour? if you charge hourly
How was buisness during the pandemic ? Alot of people had no work or income to pay for extra services. Did your buisness take a hit ? Were you able to still work ? I know you work outside but people were really funny about having anyone anywhere near them
