Stay off the roofs. Invest in proper safe ladder equipment and use water pressure from booster pump, zero G hose and sweeper nozzle. A respectable gutter cleaning service needs a 24' and a 32' ladder with Werner 97P True Grip standoffs and auto ladder levelers. Blowers and hoses do not remove bird nests in covered gutters on the 3rd floor.

fastest money I make! 140-unit townhome complex $20 per unit do it in approximately 2.5 to 3 hrs with one guy on roof with handheld blower and one guy on ground with backpack blower dispersing debris into the grass and off driveways, decks, sidewalks and stoops so it looks like you were never there. Charge extra if you have plugged downspouts which is usually the outlet, sticks and leaves or granules and sometimes water bottles or kids toys or use your imagination. I am not able to do it all year unfortunately, maybe I should try single family homes... Thanks for the video!

Good footwear is important and some good thick jeans. Ladders with ladder arms so ladder isn't directly on the trough, go up with a bucket and leaf bags and blower. Put debris in bucket then blow off any debris on roof. I make $1000+ a day from late October to early january in the Toronto area.

I live in a Poor neighborhood in Atlanta ain’t nobody paying $200 for a one story I tried to get $125 and they still said no so I went down to $70 and they said that’s more reasonable price help me out should I work more around rich neighborhoods?

Try different neighborhoods yes, you gotta think about why people need it. Your neighborhood has more people who can climb ladders if they're day laborers, more 1 story homes and less two story etc. etc. and it's not worth it to pay someone else to do it. A richer person has a home that takes longer, two stories, taller homes etc. and they have less experience with manual labor. It makes more sense for them to pay someone else.

When you blow all of the debris out of the gutters, your clients don’t get mad when it is all over their lawn? Or do you pick it all up?
(I honestly am wondering if it is a better strategy than just scooping it and putting it in a bucket.

    • @tuanas458

They'll most likely rake up most of it and then use the blower to clear out the remaining. If its wet, I would use a bucket because if you use the blower it leaves a huge mess for weeks.

Not a bad question, but probably a bad idea. Thats a lot of water spraying right next to the roof, and the under side of tiles/shingles is right there. Also it wont be guaranteed to clean everything. You definitely want to avoid the pressure going on the roof under any circumstances. Although a pressure washer can be useful for uclogging a downspout I wouldn't use it for much more than that.

I do a lot of town homes and some/a lot in some cases have a buildup of granules. Stihl has a gutter cleaning attachment for doing it from the ground which seems like it would be a guessing game however, I take one section of the 4 it comes with and attach it to the end of my blower so it actually gives me greater reach (and I can stay further from the edge of the roof). Also, I use it to scrape the gutter and then blow out the granules. Please make sure no one is sunbathing below it becomes very awkward I know... normally it's the outlet that gets plugged and can be blown and relieved and sometimes you have to use your hand to unplug it but if it's in the downspout you may have to physically disassemble the elbows and or downspout to unclog it. Hope this helps. P.S. I have another person with a backpack blower on the ground blowing everything into the grass.

If it's a small one story where you can walk the roof, blow it out with a leag blower, and the drive is close, you could do $150. But if you have to ladder around the whole thing, the debris is wet, etc you should charge more. We generally start at $225-250 minimum

@@Tristan.Kalina my last five estimates that came in from Google the people are telling me that my price is at least twice as much then they paid the last time and they're going to go with somebody else. This is after lowering my price by at least 20% I want to say 20 to 30% from the previous season. But the lesson is stay strong because out of 5 estimate I did win one in the same neighborhood as the other person told me they can get it done for $110.
