- Breath of Fire 3 Easter Eggs and Secrets: all those, hidden messages or callouts on Breath of Fire 3 that might be skipped or overlooked by players not paying good attention to what Capcom was hiding below their noses... Breath of Fire call backs? Street Fighter? Pop Culture Cameos?
- Ігри
The ghosts in McNiels manor are named after business concepts, they are kinda badly translated though. Doksen=dokusen=monopoly Kassen=cash-in Torast=trust Galtel=cartel. The one you don't fight directly is Kanzei and amalgam is named conglomerate instead.
Hey thats a pretty interesting piece of info right there, didnt know about it
nice info!
The blue haired girl next to Jean painting imprisoned might be a dragon clan chick...and how does that frog has suck cute girlfriend?
idk bout those others but amalgam is just short for amalgamation.
Balio and Sunders fusion is based on Ultraman and it's also one of the reasons besides the Doraemon one that this masterpiece is hard to re release since it's an integral boss fight in the game.
has the psp version recoloured this boss. Game doesn't get re-release d until capcom need that nostalgia hit to smooth over the corporate side when Street fighter monster hunter and resident evil are on the downlow (I wish they would stop forcing resident evil and Street fighter three only so much you can do with these)
@@Spriggen1337thank you! Sick of capcom loving monster Hunter and resident evil a million times over, than look at this classic franchise. Hope there’s not any other copyright issues
That's if Capcomwould ever listen to the fans and bring this back instead of makeing a bunch of Monster Hunter Titles.
I played this game all over 3 times and never noticed Sakura and Chun Li watching the coliseum match but undoubtedly the Doraimon face was the most surprising one xD.
this game is soo good and full of mini references
There is an Akuma's attack shun-goku-satsu but called Disembowel in the game used by assassin enemies
and the fun thing is you can copy that :)
seriously? I might have missed that one
@@ElBribri It's also in IV, and it's even more blatant. It even has the kanji.
Magic Ball also looked like Haduken!
Peco's attack also looks like E Honda's hand slap attack, though E Honda does it with an open hand
There is Mogu and Bo on the very first part of the game where you put them into toaster.
Also Builder (eng: "Ox"), the one who knocked Ryu down. In the English language version of BoF3 he's named "Chief."
The Moment I saw Doraemon's face I was Devastated...
You sir Ruined Dragon Accession for me!
I don't really blame you but me for not seeing it sooner...
Well at least we can safely say that Ryu managed to get a cameo in anime with that face...Yes I know It's the other way around , don't ruin my Fantasy!
Its all ruined!
I find it pretty clever they decided to add Doraemon in there, very subtle, very neat.
Played so much of this game in 1999, I knew a few ones, but the Doraemon one is a surprise!
Probably the best one
I never noticed a lot of the Easter eggs with exception of the Breath of Fire 2 characters. Even then I didn't understand what Easter egg was so I figured it was strange to see so many past characters. Great Video makes me want to replay 2 and 3.
Thanks man, well I would encourage you to do so. Yeah, easter eggs are usually really interesting and funny but easily missable if you dotn pay attention.
Actually pay attention to the thumbnail of this video, you got the title, a chicken watching east and the eggs on the east....(I tried lol)
I'm replaying 3 on PSP right now and it's glorious.
Cool finds! I missed the hidden Doraemon despite playing the game 9 times!
Other than the Super Saiyan Ryu, I can only think of one that isn't on this list. Balio and Sunder merged form, Stallion is a throwback to Ultraman. ^^
oh man you are actually right! I got no idea why I didnt include it...I guess I just forgot about it...cool for pointing it out though
It is very obvious just looking at their utmost attack
I think there was also some info in the windia castle library about Nin'as grandmother being BOF1 or BOF2 nina
@@ElBribri they got copyright strike by ultraman company and later change the color scheme and attack animation on the subsequent releases
@@melonusk6120 interesting, didnt know about the copyright
Did not know about the Doraemon sprite. Thank you !
Easily the best one
Ryu uses hadoken position, well played
one of the best j-rpg. ohhh capcom make more like this one
oh yeah, this game is one of the best calssic Jrpg,,,its a shame CAPCOM doesnt do games like this anymore
they are busy with RE remake
The very first characters introduced in the game are callbacks to Mog and Gilliam/Bo from BoF1.
WOW @ the Chun-Li easter egg. NEVER noticed that! Crazy find!
- One of Momo strongest weapon is "GhostBuster".
- Scene you use conveyor sent mutant into lava is parody of "Terminator 2"
*Edit*
- Emitai’s Golems look resemblance Hunter from Resident Evil franchise.
You are right
I actually flipped the wrong switch and it was hilarious
@@suiken3149 that’s why this game have special place in my heart … except that desert of killjoy.
@@DoomfaceVagabond i honestly hated the big boat level or the plant facility where you encounter Peco for the first time ALOt more then the desert.
There's also the Super Saiyan transformation on Ryu.
yeah theres definitely something going on there, idk if it was intentional or not
@Daniel Vasconcelos I have yet to play 4, but that sounds pretty intentional!
The miners who awaken Ryu at the beginning of the game are nods to Gilliam and Mogu from the first game
Don't forget Builder at the end of the segment, who was named "Ox" in the English version of BoF1. However in BoF3 he was called "Chief."
@@sdlock83 I never caught that one, cool
@@sdlock83 So many Easter eggs and references are missed due to poor translations of the earlier titles. Breath of Fire V also has a couple of blatant references to past characters but most people have no idea due to translation inconsistencies of earlier titles.
what about plant42 in the myra station? i think its a nod to the plant 42 in resident evil 1
I think it makes sense, cant confirm, but judging by the game it would surprise me for this to be the case, you are probably right!
And little shop of horrors with the ones named 'Aubrey'
You missed Bleu from bof1 & 2 who is Deis here,
Garr former companion who retired in dragon slaying (I forgot his name) who is random enemy in bof2
Gobi from bof1 who becomes a merchant im both 2&3
Ax from bof1, a miner in dauna mines and also the last enemy you encounter while still a dragon before you get caught
The world tree from bof2 - yggdrasil
Mina in bird form from bof2 - when Ryu uses fusion gene while Nina is in the party
Spar when fused with shamans and turned into a seed - Peco
The mural in dragonier when you to juno us actually the events that happened in bof1
And I can't believed you missed Myria the main villain of bof1
Also you forgot Ladon the God of the dragons- the save point in bof1 and in bof2 he plays a main role in the story
Mygas - random enemy in bof2(i think bof1)
And i think you can spot Karn in syn city
Those arent easter eggs.
Easter eggs are hidden somehow.
Those are just refs for story.
I wish Deis was a playable character in this game. She's my favorite character in the BOF series.
The character called Zig resemble Zangief (street fighter)
I have noticed that.
It might be an homage to the Red Cyclone himself.
The skill Celerity is called Seven Senses in Japan, Saint Seiya manga reference.
Nice info!
Breath of Fire V has an item called 7th Sense, it raises all stats during the fight.
that doraemon one surprised me but goddamn i never knew most of these
The Doraemon is superb
4:29 ... coolest transformation of my childhood now a fucking joke ... thank you dude.
Announcer girls in Genmel are clearly Playboy bunnies.
what the fuck Doraemon has been there this whole time?
ikr, I was just as surprised when I found out...and its actually pretty cool, all these little details are what made this gaming era so cool, Capcom was doing some good work here, games were charming and had heart in them
Dog in Wyndia at the beggining of the game is saying "bow-wow" :D
You missed the 2 biggiest ones
Peco is this game spar
And the stain glass windows in the intro show everyone from bof 1.
Well, tbh, Ryu is is this games Ryu and Nina is this games Nina and so on... playable characters arent really "easter eggs"
Same with the Stain Glass, thats more like "part of the story" as its shown and talked about, and not necessarily an eastern egg
Well BoF 3 is a direct sequel of BoF, just many years apart, so makes sense to open with what happened at the end on the first game.
Not easter eggs.
@@orlandosouza4415
The 2nd one is .
Bow and Sten are dressed as Bow and Sten. Fahl and others who are the same race as previous characters do not feel like real Easter eggs.
Bow and Sten are great
Kamehameha!!
doraemon is very subtle
As it should be, amazing!
I read somewhere that Garr as a "rare chance" of shouting "Shoryken" when landing a critical hit. Any confirmation?
I tried it myself over and over and over and so far, for me, it is false since it never happend to me no matter how hard i tried and how much time I spent trying to trigger it
doraemon sure surprised me 😂😂😂
4:16.. Epicc! How can you find something like that? I played this game for so very long time and never noticed that Ryu, is actually Doraemon.. 😂
Awesome 😉😀👍👌
Doing the VIP work right here, thanks
Zig is Zangief.
Bunyan is banyan from bof2
Mikba is a reference to deathevan
Those spark enemies are actually from an old capcom game, too. I forget what its called but the main character's name is Lou.
Missed like 30 refs my bro lol
"Zig" (jp: Jigg) is NOT a reference to Zangief. Bunyan (jp: Babadel) is simply a reoccurring character throughout the BoF series like Ryu & Nina. Mikba was simply an older character design that is used in-game, no different from Gaist and BoF2's random encounter monster Efleet... nothing more.
THIS IS MY FAVORITE GAME SICE 1999 and play this manymany time and inish the game many times not to know just TODAY that
chun li. Sakura has to be found. Aaaand TFK IS DORAEMON's face.. ive never seen that until today!!! I hate you capcom. . .
This game is fantastic, all these little easter eggs just make it even better
the frames go so fast you cant really notice without pausing somehow, sakura and chun li are also easy to miss because one doesnt expect it and doesnt even look at the crowd since you clearly see all them are the same sprites basically and just focus on the entrance of our characters.. i remember i read somewhere that the bunny announcement girl is another character from bof2..or 1, i cant remember
My favorite jrpg of all time
Lol I never knew about Doraemon.
well, apparently everyone was as shocked as me lol
Ok this made me want to play BoF 3 so bad brb grabbing ps1
GREAT! Thats what I like to read!
wtf doraemon!! lol..im literary playing this game nth times but doraimon hahaa!!
ikr, I was just as shocked
the doraemon one lmao
What is Munmar from?
is this game music 2:52 or is this other music... i liked it!
Totally in-game music, this game ha some fantastic tracks, jazz-like
is the ingame music when you are in the mc neil mansion
LOL @ Doraemon
Wasn't there also a mural of all the Heroes from Breath of Fire 1?
Actually yes, in a hallway before meeting the elder dragon
isnt htat just the same mural that appears when you start the game?
Not really an easter egg.
Nobody is going to comment on the fact that this is a Breath of Fire III Easter Egg video, but the very first screen of the video mistakenly uses Breath of Fire II's logo?
My bad. Coming back to this video now I realize the Breath of Fire II logo was supposed to be for the BoF2 cameos in BoF3. Hahaha. Sorry about that!
My fav. BoF.
Garr remembers me of General Arma from Demon's Crest.
He really is look-alike
Both are Capcom games, so probably why. Though Gaist looks more like Arma to me.
This comment doesn't quite apply since it's from 2, but the gargoyle enemy sprites both in-battle and on the overworld look A LOT like an amalgam of Firebrand and Arma.
please someone tell me the Doraemon easter egg is fake... OMG hahah
Missed that one
Joh Joh
I hear it was removed in the psp release
I'm not about to play with whoever made this 😂😂😂
I don't know why they never made another good breath of fire after 3. Such a waste.
@ninja 4 was good...but it would have been better if you got to tear Yolm's nose off and feed it to him before he bit it. What a jerk!
V is a masterpiece. About the only title in the series to actually age well.
@@MistyKathrine V ? Please tell me you dont mean the horrible embarrasement that was "Dragon quarter" the game that practicly killed the Series?
4 was great. but Dragon quarter killed the series.
@@mermidion7552 Breath of Fire V was a #1 best seller in Japan, it definitely did not kill the series and is in fact the best game in the series by far. The game that killed the series was Breath of Fire VI.
Ok video, but aside from mentioning the names of the things it doesn't really tell where they are from, as in what series, franchise, game, etc.
I will take this into consideration on future videos, thanks for the feedback
Wow❤🎉
Amazing right?
ahh the music, the sprites, the lore. Everything was awesome about breath of Fire
The game is incredible, I REALLY enjoyed it from start to finish, the sprite work is 10/10
3:13 there is also Majin Boo from DBZ, 7 o'clock from Chun Li
and 3:52 6 o'clock from Sakura, right behind the name tag you can see its head
Koxis Verserken. I dont think you can consider that to be a Majin Boo.
where's plant42? :(
I only finished RE for the very first time in my life ever since it came out and I finally get why they called the enemy in this game 'Plant42'.
i dont get it
Kirra Yamato plant42 is a boss in RE1. In bof3 there is a regular enemy with the sprite of a plant that is named plant42. You have to wonder what happened to the other 41 versions of this plant on this game but turns out this is an enemy cameo from another game, which if you haven't noticed already BOTH are made by Capcom.
I would like to note that the fact that you showed what the reference is to does not explain what the reference is to, next time please clarify what game the reference is from (I know that, but it’s not pleasant at all). Thank you!
You need to explain what these Easter eggs allude to or their significance. Otherwise they just seem like weird things in a weird game.
Thanks for the feed back, actually I'll take this in mid for the next one
Rand, Jean, Bow and Sten are one of the Breath of Fire 2 characters that travel with BoF 2's Ryu. The Street Fighter cameos should be obvious.
LightStreak567 haven’t played BoF2 in about 15 years,
@@RubianGaming Its one of the playable SNES games on the Nintendo Switch along with the first Breath of Fire. I'm playing it right now on my Nintendo Switch Lite.
LightStreak567 oh nice. I didn’t know the Switch added them. I should go replay them. I have the SNES carts somewhere. Thanks for the heads up!
Any RPG like this jewel for PS4?
Elías Alba. Of course! This one called................no, forget it.
Maybe the next Dragon Quest (11). It's like 8, that was great.
@@eliasalba4857 DQ11 ist the only
@@abdurrahimakbulut9675 Thx. I played yet and was awesome. 100% completed.
Sten in an INN in windya trying to share a room qitha girl
Sten and Rand descendants are just hanging out in some suspicious places, I see.
Ox's descendant captured Ryu after he was knocked out.
Mogu's descendant already died in the intro after Ryu killed him with his Whelp Breath btw.
Hey nice video I might check this game out!! If you want you can check out my channel and maybe like and subscribe keep up the good work!!!
this game is actually pretty amazing i'd recommend you do, sure, ill stop by at yours thanks!
Talk... smh
The first person you fight in the tournament is named Claw which I assume is a reference to Vega from Street Fighter since his name is Claw in the Japanese version of those games. I can't believe I missed seeing Chun Li in the crowd though.
hey it could be true, it makes sense
That's not true at all. Vega is named Balrog, Claw is a nickname given by the community to avoid confusion with the swapped names between versions.
It might be helpful if there was some context as to what these easter eggs are even refering to. DAFUQ is Doraemon? Who is Sakura?
I dont want to sound mean at all, but easter eggs dont need "context" in this case, video is showcasing what easter eggs are on the game (most of them pretty easy to get once you see them since its genereal pop and videogame pop culture), not the story behind each one of them. If you dont get one or any of the easter eggs and you know nothing about CAPCOM at all (Sakura), or even japanese pop culture (Doraemon) you can quickly go to google and check it out. The video is not assuming people know everything, BUT in the same way one just cant stop to explain every single bit, since it would also be needed to stop and explain who Ryu is and who the guys from BoF2 are and so on.
was that a Rand easter egg? clothes dont match and there are other horse people.
These aren't really easter eggs
why?
ท่ากระโดด ก็เป็นแบบ rock man
It could be
