Thanks for showing all the dragon attacks of BOF 4. When I played this game 20 years ago, I was not able to collect all the dragons. So that was kind of a regret to me. This video really brought me all the nice memories that I had with this game and also people that I played with at that time.
You can download the PC version for free and replay it.
Its one of the very few games I played more than once in my life.
I think I finished this game 4 times.
They're cool and all..but relegating the Dragon attacks to basically summons is such a downgrade compared to the Gene System in 3...Ryu had so much power and versatility at his disposal in 3.
I like 4...but the dragon powers disappoint me so much compared to 3 and 2. :(
In game lore, Ryu is nerfed because Fou Lu split with him along with majority of his power and spirit.
his hybrid transformation does add some arsenal.
2 had the same system as 4, with the dragon powers being just a very strong attack
this needs a remake as well would definitely buy
God I miss this game, gameplay, story is very good! A remake with better graphics is definitely worth it!

I played this game when i was 8 or 9. Although i unlocked a fraction of secrets/dragons with the help of a website I got stuck in a fortress/labyrinth part of the game. I have not seen the majority of these attacks until now. I never knew there were so many!
And Bahamut was like: "Thats cute ... "

yeah, i think some of the attacks are hardly inspired from mega, giga and tera flares from ff7

No. The design of the beasts is much more creative here than "generic medieval dragon".
Richter WLK That’s the thing, they could have kept the same gene system, but with more possible combinations and new types of design.
@@Rihcterwilker Uh, have you seen any of the varieties of crazy forms you can do in 3? I'm guessing not, because a lot of them are not "generic medieval dragon." You have hybrid forms, humanoid forms, pygmy, behemoths, etc. Not to mention variants on stats and colors that you could get from swapping in different modifiers. Did I mention them being beautifully crafted pixel art which matches the overall aesthetic of the game way more than shitty PS1 3-D models? I could go on, but this L is yours.
@@Renulph i've played 3. Pixel art is good, but 3d models can give you a cinematic feel, with different camera angles for special attacks. As an example, i can mention fou lu fight against the giant owl monster. There's alot of special attacks that use the fact that it is a 3d model to it's advantage.
Not to mention that pixel art in 4 is greatly improved.

Got to wonder if some of the summons attacks where taken out of Final Fantasy games, I live BoF 4 I really do wish I could play it again today. Just some of the summons remind me of FF games Kaiser reminds me of Bahamut Zero for example
And Flood tide like a mixture of Eden (FF8) Alexander (FF8)

Actually you can transform, but its only a hybrid form.
I got to the point where you Fight Fou Lou, or you merge with him. I feel like there's more of the game I missed out on, cuz I feel like I didn't get all these.

I liked this game a lot as a kid. Although the plot felt like Capcom tried to take some cues from Xenogears, the chilling atmosphere and the Shadow of the Colossus-ish dragon designs were pretty awesome for the time the game was made.

BOF IV's 3D animation is so good even almost surpassing FF8, they should've make a game with 3D battles like FF8
First Dragon looks like an early version of a Rathalos. So Capcom made Monster Hunter before actually making Monster Hunter?

I played this game so much, I got everyone to level 99 without using any kind of cheat :)
But I still didn't know all these dragon attacks. Most of them are cool-looking, but their overall usefulness isn't impressive.

変身から召喚獣になって、自由に使えないから面白くないなと思ってた。多種の龍に変身して自由に操りさせて貰った3番目を終了して、これを始めたら、えーとかなぜ操れないかーとコントローラーをポイして終了出来なかった。
でも、最近は昔からのゲームのユーザーさんは「リメイク」を作れ！とか「このゲームの映像は綺麗になったら、もう一度やりたいな」っていう。昔のユーザーは声を合わせたら、リメイクをしてくださいよってお願いしたら作ってくれると思う。需要あればね。

Yep. I liked a lot of the other systems they put in 2 but turning the dragon forms into simple summon spells wasn't one of them.

Im currently replaying 4 on my vita. Too bad 3 isnt on the sg store (or for any of the psn regions for the vita. Correct me if wrong). The sprite work alone in these games are reason enough to play them. 3 had such a beautiful array of dragon transformations bolstered by its beautiful 2d sprites. 4 has not aged well. These 3d dragons are not pretty to the eyes at all. 3’s gene system was leagues better than 4’s. Meditation system.
damn I remember I bought this game from Wal-Mart back in 2000. At the time I had no idea a new Breath of Fire was released.

No. It doesn't hurt to play the previous ones for some sort of "inside" jokes or references. But the story is independent!

metastrike.... To upgrade your dragons you have to play the minigames. I think this guy is hacked. I know every single secret in this game. Or at least I used to. I even got to level 99. The cursed sword is the way to go. You get it from rider.
