"Joey is the best drummer in the fucking world"... "he's fucking my best friend" ohh .. this really touched my heart. Joey got so sad when Paul was gone.. :(
I read an interview where he told this crazy story: One night, a couple dudes were sitting on his porch, waiting for him to come home. When Paul got home, he was like "What are you doing here?" and the were like "Oh my God, it's Paul!". Rather than call the cops on them, Paul invited them into his house and offered them beer and a ride back home... What a nice guy. R.I.P.
Pretty amazing how both Paul and Vman weren’t really Bassists up until they joined the Knot… and upon joining the Knot they fuckin killed it… arguably becoming some of the best bassists in history.
You see at 2:18 Paul says "he was one of the founding members of the band" referring to Clown, but he didn't give any credit to himself. Clown and Paul started Slipknot. I've read that Paul contributed to a lot of things that he never took credit for, where a lot of other musicians would try to brag that they were the ones who did it. You can really see his character with this interview, you can see exactly what his band members were talking about at that press conference about his death, he's just a good dude, not a bad bone in him.
Makes you wish "Parents" really thought about the insane responsibly of bringing another human life into their world! Yeah. I think they've forgotten about that. But unfortunately, Paul's no longer around to keep them in line (esp Corey and Clown's egos) so yeah. Paul would be very sad to see the band's current state and how much they've crumbled w/out him there.

NewSitholl Eduardo Luna An autopsy revealed he had died of an overdose of morphine and fentanyl, a synthetic morphine substitute. Another factor of his death was his Cardiovascular disease.

Coming back here after all these years... The fact that Paul even mentioned his step dad shows how much a step dad can mean to person who grew up in misery. Like myself. Rest in peace, my man!
As we all know Paul has passed away from us and every year I come to this video to remember him and and what he's done to help me great through things through his bass playing. We all love you Paul Derick Grey stay (Sic) forever we all love you.
I knew they’ve always treated Chris harshly, but to actually hear Paul admit it makes me feel even worse for Chris. Hopefully one day they can reconcile, because I always did enjoy Chris’s backing vocals. Way more than tortilla face
I love this interview! It feels like he's explaining it all to someone who doesn't know him, in the afterlife. Paul is a great dude! Takes a lot to be like Paul, strong individual he was! Paul will be greatly missed for all of time! RIP #2 Till we meet again...
This video made me misty eyed. He loved his band mates so much. You can truly tell they were a family; they mean it when they call each other brothers. I'm always blown away when he tells the story of meeting Anders, and saying he could play bass when he hadn't a day in his life. From there he became one of the best bass guitar players of all time, certainly the best of modern music. Slipknot will never be the same without him, but his influence and presence will always be there, no matter what.

Damn he has amazing, dark voice. R.I.P Paul.
Right? He could talk forever and I wouldn't be mad. His voice is very soothing and calm. He's the kind of guy that you'd feel very safe and at ease to be around.
Seriously the current members of Slipknot need to see this interview again, change the Slipknot company back to the Slipknot family you guys were, it's sad how the band is been managed now, please solve your problems don't kick members just because there was a fight you guys are a family
on stage i always i fan of corey, the clown, sid etc... but off stage and as a person, i always liked paul the most out of slipknot. down to earth, simple guy... i would hang out with at the pub.
9:19 fucking sad man. the irony in what he says he is heartbreaking.
Shit killed me when I heard that part
dank memes
the irony i think is that he smokes a cigarette and talking about stopping. i first thought he means stop smoking or taking drugs, because he died because of drugs...
NewSitholl pain killers i think not to sure
NewSitholl Eduardo Luna An autopsy revealed he had died of an overdose of morphine and fentanyl, a synthetic morphine substitute. Another factor of his death was his Cardiovascular disease.
"yeah Jim's awesome. I love Jim." -that was so precious. I fuckin miss this dude with all my heart. 💔
Paul never left us!! he is here with us when we listen to the music and his old videos
He said it's not the same when they played without a member. It's not the same without him. It never will be, but the band will keep growing and he would be proud. #wemissyouPaul #RIPPaulGray ❤️
Notice how much he praised his band members and best friends, and totally downplayed how incredible a bassist he was. Such an incredible and unforgettable person. Thank you for everything Paul, rest peacefully with Joey
When I was a kid I wore Paul's mask for Halloween. Then the news came that he died. I've been a life long fan.
Joey and Paulie forever in our hearts
Man would I would give to just be able to have 10 minute conversation with Paul. RIP
Paul and Joey 💜
Oh Paul... I miss you so much... there are so many things I'm feeling right now... you were amazing! is still! you are in our hearts... we love u.
Rip the best bass player in the world, 2, Paul Gray
Paul gray was and will continue to be an icon for which I became a bassist 👊😔
Paul and joey are slipknot and that won't ever change for me no matter how much I love jay and Alessandro slipknot for ever🖤.
Dont forget chris fehn
@@rigobertomelgarejoguzman3574 ah very true
3:33 That spit it out from paul was just epic.
Number 1 is with number 2 again, long live Joey and Paul.
One thing I know for sure is paul and corey both loved the phrase "you know" lol :D
THE MUSIC IS ALL I GOT its more of a Jim root thing
Emmanuel Olaoye It’s a Slipknot thing lol
iDeath MaximuM II it’s not
THE MUSIC IS ALL I GOT it’s a generation thing. “Ya know” is like today’s “like” or “basically”
Lemmy did it too, a lot. I think it’s a 70’s 80’s thing.
@@Brandon_J Yeah kinda a Gen X thing. Ya know!? 😉
( I was born in the 70s & say it constantly to this day! So it could be a generational thing. I know cory & Paul are 70s babies)
This man was a truly gifted bassist. He did what he wanted with a bass guitar and it sounded beautiful.
Now Joey’s up there with Paul 😢 rest easy kings 👑 👑
This is my favorite slipknot interview, hands down. R.I.P. Paul love you brother.
