- Our hearts go out to Joey’s family and loved ones at this time of tremendous loss. Joey Jordison’s art, talent, and spirit could not be contained or be held back. Joey’s impact on Slipknot, on our lives, and on the music that he loved, is incalculable. Without him there would be no us. We mourn his loss with the entire Slipknot family. We love you, Joey.

I am from Saudi Arabia and I saw this band by chance in 2014 and the first person I loved was the drummer Joey, but I was surprised when I read the news. I felt as if electricity had electrocuted my entire body... Rest in peace... Joey... I will never forget you.😢

Joey and The Rev were the reason I picked up sticks, Psychosocial was the first song I ever played on a kit. I owe a lot to Joey. I loved his talent, his relationships with his bands, his art, his legacy. This is going to hurt for a very, very long time. I just hope he's up there jamming with Paul once again

Slipknot was his life and they screwed him over. And they didn't just kick him out they totally abandoned him, even so petty to unfollow him on IG. But he never bad mouthed them....because he really I think believed in the brotherhood of the 9 and he really loved them and didn't want to bad mouth them. It's very sad that they never brought him back once his leg was working again.

@@defridox999 He had a disease that killed him when he was only 46, I don't remember which one exactly. This seems to be the reason for his exit from Slipknot, he couldn't play anymore because he had a leg immobilized, if I remember correctly

@Lachry Matory i fully agree with the hard work part. Definitely doesn't come easy even to those who are musically talented or inclined. I know personally how much work i put into to learn guitar and i still continue putting in that work today. The moment a person stops putting in hard work, they stop making progress.
Sorry to see Joey pass. He was a genuine dude who cared about the fans. He did two signings in my city (Auckland, New Zealand) over the years, one with Slipknot, another with Murderdolls, so I think that shows his love of the fans. Thanks Joey.

They live with us
He lived next door to my parents the last few years of his life. They described him as extremely kind, quiet, and a little strange. They would take him Christmas goodies every year, and he'd always want to invite them in to show them around. He even signed all of us a drumstick for Christmas a couple years back. His music, for me, was a haven and an escape for a long time. Lost too soon, RIP

If you grew up, and were deemed “weird/different” in the late 90s-2000s, you knew how important this band was. You also knew how fucking insane Joey was… RIP another legend gone too soon.
This is exactly why I will always love this band. I was lost, trying to find who I was in middle school, and then I discovered Slipknot. Being weird and from Iowa in the 90s-2000s, they really resonated with me. Seriously changed my life.
I remember around the time i started listening to slipknot, i just thought i wasn't into music that much.. at 11 years old all my friends were hyped up on Eminem and similar stuff , i felt like the strange one because i just didn't give a shit for what they were listening to.. then along came IOWA 🤘
Hell yeah. In 1999 most of my closest friends thought I was weird because I jammed to Slipknot with my friends from a different town. I was 15 at the time. Shortly later though they gained a love for the Knot as well.
Be different is a gift, but we didnt realizes when we are young.

It has been nearly two years since Joey passed. Ever since I heard about Joey's passing, I have started to become a huge Slipknot fan because I think that is what Joey would have wanted. He would wanted us to all be Slipknot fans. Joey had a gift to be "dare I say" one of the greatest drummers in the world. Thank you Joey for everything. Thank you for the memories and we all wish both you and Paul were still here. Your legacy and impact on Slipknot and the heavy metal world will never be forgotten. Many of us understand where your coming from. Joey was slipknot. And its very sad to see that they are only now saying how much he supposedly meant to them. Especially when they were his freaking brothers in his eyes. Slipknot as of now has become the one thing it never should have been. A commercialize pop rock act that is more concerned with profits then making good meaningful music. With the loss of joey I feel the true slipknot has now died.

This happen the day after my birthday when I first heard that he passed away I didnt believe it and I was heartbroken because he is my biggest inspiration to me and when I turned 17on July 25th of this year for a whole month I was having extremely bad luck had to get stitches the day of Joey's passing and alot of other things. Rest in Peace Joey gone but not forgotten.

Truth but with what was going on with joey the right business move was to go on without him as I'm sure with his illness the insane touring schedule with slipknot would have been to much for him. Regardless tho I'm glad they have Jay as a replacement because Jay kills all of Joey's parts and plays them with a passion and respect. I hope we see a loving tribute at the upcoming knotfest

Man. Words can't explain how much I miss this guy. My brother introduced me to slipknot when I was only a child for as long as I can remember.i fell in love this band at such a young age. Joey was always my favorite. The instrument, the mask, the talent, he's aesthetic as a whole I loved. He inspired me to buy my first drumkit at only roughly 5-6 yrs old. I'll never forget you brother. Maggot for life 🤟💕
