This seestern looks pretty nice! I love that vibrant red dial very nice. The indices on it are very similar to the vanbanner that we both fancy! Nice satin finish on the brushing on the bracelet looks great! Even the case profile looks similar to the vanbanner.

Yeah, it’s just evolution bro, we keep pushing on and improving, little things here and there. I can’t lie that Van Banner is a banger and I definitely hope to get one in the future.

Excellent review, good to know when there are issues. I'm sure they'll improve over time. That red fume is very like the new Phoibos diver...... though looking at it more closely, the Phoibos is darker. I do like the colour, it's also similar to my red Heimdallr Monster, though a completely different watch. That was a great comment about the date. I've never had to check that on a dive. Lol! Nice touch though!

Thanks for the video, I watched quite a few reviews of this watch before I pulled the trigger on a red one, with the FKM rubber strap.
I didn't see your review until just now.
The other reviews were mainly positive or really positive, and the watch I received from the Seestern Official AliExpress store is absolutely perfect, so it seems you were unlucky and got a lemon. Hopefully you got it sorted with Seestern.
The bezel lines up spot on, no QC issues, and it's running at +3 seconds a day, even better than my Seestern V3 Doxa ceramic bezel homage at -4 seconds.
My 62 mas came with the lumed bezel, which really sets it apart, but the main reason I'm leaving this comment is the price they are available for now. I paid less than £100, including taxes, delivered to the UK in 7 days.
Astonishing value, especially considering the San Martin is still well over £200 all in.

Nice one mate and I’m sure I was just unlucky as since this watch, which was some time ago I’ve tried a couple more, the full lume Pilots watch I featured a little while ago and another one I’m currently in the process of reviewing.
Suffice to say I’m happy to say the hype is real and they are doing some very, very good stuff 👍👍
@@WatchtheTime I've got their Sugess Breitling Deux homage as well, a beautiful watch. Something a bit different to all my AliExpress divers, and manual wind.
I wear it occasionally, it's probably not a good daily as it seems the Seagull ST1901 is a bit more fragile than the trusty Seiko autos

Late to the party catching up with the weekend's videos 😁 I do like the 62mas case design just a little small for my taste. That QC issue probably goes to show there is no QC which is pretty bad given the price but I guess that's part of the uncertainty of buying from Ali express.

Honestly, I've only heard of a few QC issues from them, and they always seem to take care of their customers. That being said, I don't think you'll have any issues getting a new one, but it's still a shame you have to deal with the headache. The San Martin is way too big for my liking. They have male endlinks as well, and I believe it puts their lug to lug around 54mm. I'd much prefer the size of this one, but it's all subjective, of course. Great review as always my friend!

@@WatchtheTime I have bought 2 San Martin watches and both have had problems. The first I bought from wrwatches and I had to send it back for repair at my expense. This was one with the Swiss movement and I ended up having to pay VAT and handling twice because the shipping company wanted payment both times. That was after I sent them proof I had received it and sent it back a couple of weeks before.
The second time I thought I’d buy direct from San Martin and see if them using a non express shipping company would make importing it cheaper. Knowing Royal Mail only charge £8 or so handling and don’t stop every parcel.
That one had a pt5000 movement and again it suffered from the rotor spinning madly when you hand wound the watch. They wanted me to film the watch and send them the video so I had to open the watch and show them the rotor spinning no matter how you held the watch while winding it.
They replied that this was normal and they wouldn’t refund, replace or repair the watch.
I said this wasn’t true and it’s a known problem if the reverser wheels on the automatic winding works are under or over lubricated or dirty. Continuing to use it like this would be likely to damage the teeth. I even showed them that the rotor was so stiff due to these wheels it wouldn’t spin in both directions even when pushed using a piece of rodico or a gloved finger.
Obviously I have given up on San Martin after this as the risk isn’t worth the premium they charge over other Chinese brands like seestern, steeldive etc, both of which I have yet to have trouble with in my admittedly small sample set of 2 or 3 watches from each brand.
Sorry to hear about your own experience with San Martin and I can understand, in that situation why you would be done with them.

It's a bummer you got a copy with a QC issue, thank you for pointing it out. It's the luck of the draw of course. I cannot accuse them but according to my experience the customer service of AliExpress brands aren't very helpful sorting these kinds of issues out, they try to ignore the problem or claim you don't know how to use the watch properly. So it would have been interesting to see how they react. It's a bit disappointing to see that because I've seen other reviews of Seestern watches with impeccable quality.
I have sent the watch back and am awaiting a refund so let’s see. It’s a shame though as it could well be a nice watch.

The red is amazing but why did they go for a green hued lume? I would get it if they'd go for a "vintage" yellowed patina/ orange-y or white for the lume as the green/red combo is a bit ridiculous.

Just send them pics of the defect, ask for refund, most probably you'll get it, could even be a total, not bad if you keep the watch too...
Anyways, Seestern is here to stay, and i'd get this grey (here, did my rhyme 😜), specs and vfm are there.

The polished catch, although not practical(going to get scratched up), is actually nide design wise.
The damage is NOT ACCEPTABLE... Hope you can get a refund/exchange without any issues.

Yikes. I ordered the v3 a couple of weeks ago and have been waiting for it to clear customs. Since placing my order, three UA-cam reviewers have posted reviews with glaring QC issues. I'm not feeling confident, right now... I will say the San Martin 37mm is $313+ whereas the Seestern with a fully lumed bezel and lumed date is $209+ (or less if you go with the rubber strap, like I did).
I hope yours arrives in good working order Bradley and if it does you’ll have a very nice watch on your hands.

Some weird design choices here, why isn’t the logo on the dial and what’s going on with the polished catch. Sending a watch for review with so many QC issues is worrying, if they don’t care about the quality of a watch a reviewer has, they aren’t going to give a feck about us proles.
That is a good point Chris. It probably won’t do me any favours with companies when I upload videos where there are such bad QC problems but I paid for the watch and want to paint a real picture of the watches I receive, I feel duty bound to do that.
