I got the same 3 months ago. It's a v3 and I find no faults. It works great. For the money it is a really good watch. I'm about to modify it by changing the dial to a replica seiko spb147.
You keep saying budget brand, but the lense is sapphire, the body is stainless steel with 200m water resistance and the movement is seiko mechanical. As far as I'm concerned it is a seiko for a fraction of the price of a signed seiko spb147.
This really got me involved in watch modification. Tools are affordable and the parts are plug and play. So I started a rolex project. My own submariner 1:1 replica under 1k. Disclaimer: It will be for personal use only.
I'm glad that you folks had such great experiences with these watches and with the customer service. I ordered one from the Seestern store on AliExpress and when the package arrived it had nothing but an old, outdated cell phone cover in it. I messaged the seller and he said that I would have to take this up with shipping company! I called my credit card company and cancelled the transaction. I then ordered the watch from the Seestern company store and it's all clear sailing now. I really like the watch and the shipping was much faster this time. I'd say stick with WR Watches! Thanks for the great review.
That's crazy! I've ordered literally hundreds of items from Ali. I've gotten the wrong item sent a few times, but they've always resent the correct item or refunded me.

I did cut stem short once or twice while building my own mods.
Now have around 10 spare stems for NH and 7S movement ;-) just in case.

WR Watches actually has great customer service! I've had my eye on this watch for a while, but I still haven't pulled the trigger. The first batch had a misaligned date wheel, but I've heard they fixed that in version 2. I'll probably pick it up as soon as I see your review, so don't dawdle, Pete! 😂😉
I've dealt with WR watches customer service as well, and I agree, it was a very satisfactory experience. They are very quick to respond to emails. I had an issue with a wobbly crown on an Rdunae/Retangula, and asked if I could purchase a new crown and stem. They just mailed me one, free of charge.

I just received a Seestern Doxa homage and I love it. I think they calibrate the movement that they received from their vendor. I’ll head this watch on for a week I swear it has not been plus or minus anything believe it or not right on the money. They have a lot of nice watches I think I’m gonna buy more from them now it seems like they have a good return policy too thank you very much

I have a WR watches customer service story: I bought a titanium MM300 that had a bit of a wonky bezel feel to it. I emailed them, and two days later they sent me a video they had made specifically to show me how to remove the bezel fix it and put it back together. Just outstanding, and clearly made in response to my email. Very friendly in the emails, perfect English by the way, and fantastic customer service.
That's great, it's nice to see them really making an effort

Great review. I've the same model and issues with the movement. Runs way out of specs. Quick response and after some suggestion, the movement was still rubish. I could send the watch back, but I suggested that they would send me a new movement and I'll replace it myself. They agreed and now I'm waiting for the new movement. In the mean time I'll try to service the original one. For me I see it as a hobby;)
To bad that the build quality isn't that great. The watch itself is amazing!

Most of the Chinese watch brands seem to be very responsive to issues..... and to review feedback on their watches. You'll usually find that if certain negatives are highlighted in reviews, they'll soon bring out a V2 with the issues resolved. So they do try, they do listen and they do learn. Got to hand it to them.

Bought an Emperor Tuna homage watch from WR Watches. Had an issue with the screw down crown. Date wheel would move when I screwed in the crown. Emailed WR Watches and they had me send the watch to their guy in the USA. He fixed the watch and returned it to me. Didn’t even pay for the shipping
Excellent Pete. Good result. I'm an old man now learning stuff from you but my memory plays tricks. I thought that I saw you on a recent video doing a wristwatch check wearing a red Seestern 62mas. Tell me I'm wrong. Myself, for reasons of cost against likely wrist time, I bought a sterile Tandorio. It's about 40mm and bigger, has a navy kind of fumé dial but the lume is absolutely pants. Not very good at all. The lug distance is 50mm as well and almost overhangs my seven inch wrist. I have one Seestern, and it seems I should have got one this time as well although the Tandorio is otherwise a good watch. Peace from England. ✌️

@@ChillinwitWatches Now that red 62mas is gonna drive me nuts.... The Tandorio, it's good but they've cut costs I believe on the lume and the thin rubber strap. Otherwise it's all good. NH35 and drilled lugs but a bit on the large side. The colour is nice and the domed sapphire crystal with the midnight blue dial. I nearly bought their Kanagawa but got the San Martin instead so as not to take chances on poor lume. I was right. Thanks Pete.

SO this watch had two batches, the first one was PLAGUED with issues (including the one you had, misspellings on the caseback and the biggest issue: misaligned date window only visible with single digit dates). Did they send you the same one or the new batch? I ordered mine directly from the Seestern site and they replaced mine with a new one, no questions asked. Its a fantastic watch.
Also, ive heard that in January, they are releasing a bracelet for this watch.
Thank you. Can I ask you a question? I want that Seestern with the historically correct sunburst dial but I am concerned about legibility with my weakening eyesight. Since both of us also seem to own the graphite-dial Seiko DresskX - how would you say the two compare in brightness and overall readability, particularly in sunlight? Seems the Seestern dial is only slightly darker, maybe warmer with a more pronounced sunburst glare. So I'd expect them to come out somewhat equal in terms of legibility. Could you state your experience? Thank you so much.
Can I please ask- Do you know what size O-rings and Glass Gasket size this Seestern uses? I need replacement gaskets.. Thank you
Nice! I just bought this exact watch during the 11.11 AliExpress sale. Hopefully it won’t have any QC issues. Though, truth be told, I’m using it for a mod. I’ve been waiting for a 38mm 62MAS homage for a long time, so had to get this one.
Killer mod base, I absolutely love this case.
@@ChillinwitWatches No kidding! I’m directly dropping in my already assembled Namoki stealth mod (dial, hands, NH38) into this case. By the way, I’m starting to understand what you mean by having all these parts laying around. I really have to stop modding!
My seestern has a problem also- it’s impossible to get the date adjusting click. It’s either setting time or winding. Messaged them… nothing. Then every 30-days they come out with a V2 or V3… I have an idea… why not get it right the first time instead of screwing your customers. Never again with seestern.
Had a few customer service problems myself recently with a UK microbrand , Smiths and Timefactors ...... Eddie Platts is the worst , I'll never buy a watch from him again and i hope other people stop buying his watches !!
