- Hi folks and welcome to the channel.
So we are at the V3 already for this 62mas homage from Seestern.
I’m not 100% sure that all the upgrades for this V3 are a success!
What do you guys think? Let me know your thoughts about this watch in the comments section.

This watch was meant to be on a rubber strap or nato.
beautiful review and landscape shots! WOW!!! Great work!
Impressed with the watch and your video production. I got the silver with a bracelet and have it on the rubber and other straps. I wanted to get a skin diver and not spent a lot of money. After wearing a Monster, / PADI Turtle and a new Seiko 5 this watch really has my Willard competing for wrist time. Outstanding photography.
Very well done review with some excellent macro footage! I absolutely agree with your conclusion. Personally I would have gone for the bezel insert with only the pip being lumed as it's the case on the original 62MAS. The awkward looking bracelet results from the latter being a watch designed to be worn on a strap. Hence every attempt to design end links for the watch are sort of an afterthought. A rubber strap is the perfectly appropriate way to wear this piece.
Thank you, very kind!👍🏻🙏🏻 Yes, I think this watch really shines on the rubber strap. It just looks and feels great! It’s a pity about the bracelet, but I just don’t think it compliments that lovely 37mm case in any way.
Great to meet you here Alex
Very good thorough review. And absolutely loved the shots with the stunning landscape, more please! Just one small criticism regarding the terrible music that didn’t do justice to the beautiful town and watch portrayed.
Very good points regarding the bracelet and damn you for such beautiful macros, I wasn’t planning on getting another watch.
Cool camera work, man. :)
Thanks!
Enjoyed the review and funnily enough shortly afterwards my own Seestern was delivered. I got the red one with both a black and a red rubber strap. I really like the watch and currently have it on half a red strap and half black just to be a bit different.
Shall check out some of your other reviews as liked your style on this one.
FYI the rectangular bit on the second hand is not a counter balance, if it was it would be on the short end.
Great review. I've the rubber strap and it wears great. Unluckily the NH35 is crap. Seestern promised me another movement, but I'm still waiting on that. Customer Service is crap too😞 Great watch, but no Seestern for me anymore....
Very Cool and professional Review ! Mach weiter so, alter !
Hi I'm late as usual seeing your review but great job, I was looking at this exact watch especially as its the only 62mas homage I can find that has the right dimensions. You've saved me a few Bob, I'm ditching the bracelet ! Apart from that it looks 👍 I'm subbed too!
Brilliant video - my first encounter with your channel. Your accent makes me want to buy the watch 😂. A great watch too. Thank you Chris
Great watch, super lume ( love it on the date window especially! ) Got the grey without the lumed ceramic bezel.Beautifully sized ! Great, comprehensive review! 😊
Completely agree! And thanks, very kind and much appreciated!👍🏻😊🙏🏻
Excellent video, high standard. I must be of the few who really dig that bracelet :P Love how endlinks match case. Probably my next buy. Cheers!
Hi Chris, Very good review ,thank you.
Thank you, much appreciated!👍🏻😊🙏🏻
oh wow! very creative footage! like the strap as well :)
I purchased this watch with the tan brown leather strap instead of the bracelet . Looks fabulous
I think I'd save some money and get the strap only, looks really great on that, the bracelet seems not the best. Plus the massive end links make it way too big on bracelet for me. The finish and fit look great too. Impressive. Nice job with the review.
Thank you!👍🏻🙏🏻 Yes, for me, this is a great watch on the rubber, but I would leave the bracelet.
Great little watch, if you love the 62mas style. A bit small for my large wrists, I own a spb051, which is 42.5mm and the bracelet is nice. I also own the sla043, which is really beautiful, but very expensive to boot. The sla is a smidge under 40mm, and wears nicely on my 7.5 inch wrist. It would have been nice to have a bracelet on the sla043, but at 4k, seiko didn't do one. I actually think they look better on straps anyway because it defines the case shape better. It also keeps the weight down and makes it more wearable for everyday wear. Even though I own a selection of nice Swiss and high tier seiko watches, I certainly wouldn't hesitate to get one of these if I was on a budget. The san Martin are also great value, but I'm not a fan of the new logo. It's ok on the crown, but the hextaganal logo just looks odd on the watch face. It's bonkers really that companies can produce such a nice watch , for a cheap price, compared to what seiko charge for the real deal. That said I don't regret getting the sla043, because it really is a special piece. And limited to just 1700 worldwide, I think it will prove to be a great buy. I Truely believe that the 62mas , is a well loved , and iconic diver from seiko. And the homages that have been made , seem to hold their value well, because it's such a beautiful design.
After this video, I’ve found my new weekend diver…lol !!
Thanks for sharing.
👍🏻😄🙏🏻
Very helpful, I think I will get one. I was curious on how the build inside, as many reviews, never open the case to look. Most Chinese brand uses that plastic ring inside to hold the movement, this always ticks me.
One more thing is that lug holes, are more to the upper side if you compare it with probably SPB147J1.
Overall this watch looks nice.
Good comments. Seestern has changed the bracelet and now uses female end links in Version 4. I'm seeing price of $128 on a rubber strap on Ali Express as I write, but I think there are further discounts. I wish someone would do a head-to-head comparison of this watch and the actual Seiko 62mas.
Great review. With my 6½ inch wrist, I totally agree with you on the bracelet. The extended case length >50mm wouldn't be practical or comfortable.
Thanks!😊🙏🏻 Yes, unfortunately the bracelet only subtracts from an otherwise excellent watch!
Good review, love the blue version and yes, bracelet not for me. What a great everyday watch for the money.
I like the bracelet, looks unfussy and is true to prospex version of this watch.
Newest version comes with female end links.
Very nice and I bet that bridge at the beginning is about 1000 years old? History like that amazes me, being in Canada we have nothing that old here
Yes, it’s the Brig O Doon that inspired the Robert Burns poem Tam o’ Shanter. It was built in the 15th century, and it is a beautiful place!👍🏻
Thank you so much for this comprehensive review! Why don't you have an affiliate link to the sales site, it's a shame...
On the other hand, we see that the date is slightly eccentric up in the window. Small defect to report.
I'm a year late but great review! The end links are now female and I've just ordered one on the 11.11 AliX sale with the bezel lume and the extra strap for £117. Looks awesome in the blue and red (I'm trying to get more colour in the collection so I went for the red) and should wear lovely on my 6.75 inch wrist, fingers crossed
The red looked Amazon! I also just picked it up for the same price. Feel like we got super lucky buying them later than other people. Also got a San Martin pilot watch for $86!
@@minimalistmaverickyes, I tend to wait 6 months or more because they tend to sort out issues and bring in new versions at lower price points. I have enough watches on my list to be able to wait!
What else is on your list? I was hesitant on my choices, bc i'm not familiar with ali express (this was my first time). But bc of the holiday coupons / deals, I felt like i couldn't pass it up. especially seeing the price people who made vids like this had paid@@bcwatches
@@minimalistmaverick loads! But top of the list is a San Martin Abalone Turtle (SN047-Q). Solid bronze with the green dial. I love a turtle and need a bronze for the collection. I'll probably get it now during Black Friday as with coupons I can get it for about £117 pre taxes. Also up the list is a Rdunae R3, blue version 👍
Worth waiting for V4 for bracelet improvement.
If the bracelet is really important to you, then yes I’d wait for an updated bracelet. But if not, it’s a great watch on the supplied rubber.👍🏻
I’m gonna get the red one.
I like the watch and definitely prefer bracelets to rubber straps. However, I agree with you, the end links of the bracelet just don't look right. Possibly adding female links would help the end links to look a little smaller.
This would be stunning on a blue sailcloth strap .. agree about passing on the bracelet.
I know it is not part of the original 62mas but I do like a lumed bezel.
Love my v3 Seestern Doxa homage.
I think this would look good on a sailcloth! I loved the first two versions of their Doxa homage, what’s new for the V3?
@@seadweller44... if I recall it combined the best of v1 and v2. Lumed date window on v2 and the modified lum pip but on that version they also modified the way the bezel sat to make it slimmer ... the issue was that the taller bezel height from the case was closer to the original Doxa. So v3 had the lum pip, lumed date window AND the raised bezel height of the v1.
Ah right, sounds great!
Did you have to pay VAT on the import once it got to the UK? I found that most firms will add a VAT charge on their site though Royal Mail also occasionally withholds the item until you pay the VAT amount. Thanks!
Hey Chris. Great review. I have had my eye on this one since last fall and may now be ready buy one. I love the small size as I have a 6.1 inch wrist. I saw one review that pointed out that thought the watch case suits a small wrist well the strap is too long for any wrist smaller than 6.75. What do you think? It won't matter to me. I have dozens of 20mm straps and am always looking for something new. But I am curious if the strap (a nice one) will be headed for the bin. Thanks.
Thanks!👍🏻🙏🏻 There is some strap left over for me (7.5 inch wrist), but not too much. It’s hard to tell, but I think you might just get away with the Seestern rubber. 👍🏻
Hi Chris. How white is the bezel text? Does it quickly shift to green or stays white for longer?
Great review Chris. Do you know what the size of the dials is? is it 28.5mm? Id love to buy this watch and slap a Seiko OEM dial on it haha. Thanks
Great video sir. Do u prefer this movement or san martin are offering an eta clone or sw200 version, but at double the price. How r u finding the accuracy
was the V2 larger? I would like one with only the 12-position lumed on the bezel insert. Some for sale feature that, others do not specify V3.
Agree 100% with you, Absolute shame about the bracelet.
Yes it is, but a very good watch if you choose it on rubber only imo.👍🏻
Og 62mas came on a rubber strap anyway so going with the cheaper rubber strap is both less expensive and truer to the original. Winner winner chicken dinner!
The bracelet is what's kept me from hetting this watch. That and the very strong tennis ball like, neon yellow appearance of the lume. I really think BGW9 would be a better a choice. A good, clean, crisp white on blue would be fantastic. This just looks a bit cheap. The rest of the watch looks fantastic!
I don’t really mind the lume, but I agree about the bracelet. Like I mentioned, I think it is a good thing that it is an optional extra.
For a 21 yo, this 62mas or a Seiko SUR307? Torn between the two, it will be his first watch. Already bought the seestern, but I find it a bit thick as a GADA... Any advices?!!
FYI: I really like the Seestern and would keep it for me 😊
Looks like for the V4 they switched to female endlinks? "Strap: FEMALE ENDLINK"
Nice presentation with the review but try to not drag the words out like if it was a script for a thriller mystery kind of movie..
Thank you sir..
Hi! Would you please measure the bezel insert?
Hi, it’s pretty difficult to get a completely accurate measurement as the insert is still in the bezel, but I measure it at 37.04mm.👍🏻
@@seadweller44 Thank you!! 😘
No problem at all!👍🏻
They've got the bracelet and strap all wrong, and it needs a blue seconds hand. I'd buy the turquoise DOXA Sub homage first.
Tempted. I'd want it on a nato. Buy the bracelet, straight to nato.
Yes normally I would completely agree, always buy the bracelet option, if there is one. As you can easily swap to a strap of choice from there, but if you don’t, it’s not always as easy to get the bracelet afterwards. The problem is, in this particular case, the bracelet isn’t very good. But just my opinion of course!
👀
The bracelet is horrible. The watch is very nice
My sentiments exactly!😄👍🏻
Strap looks better
Yes I agree. I think it matches much better with the size of the watch case as well.
Got mine (V3) today and i am not happy with it... 😐
The Bezel insert is not aligned to 12 o clock and the Date window frame is installed incorrectly (not parallel) - the backplay in the bezel is ridiculous...
The QC at Seestern is really bad... 👎
I can't recommend this watch/brand...
Keep yer tail, telling this tale?
😂😂 Yep, no witches when I was out filming the bridge!👍🏻
I really can't understand why companies keep designing male end links. It makes no sense ever. They need to change this in V4. They are straight lugs, so I'll get my own bracelet elsewhere.
Yes, 37 mm watches are very wearable on classic ballerina's wrist but in my 8.20 inches wrist will look like a penny. Nice review, but for me a ridiculous watch size...
Its not worth it without a bracelet imo... shame the bracelet is a complete failure.
The watch stem feels weak . Like it could snap . . The rest of the watch is nice . San Martin watches are better make I can feel it .
I much prefer the Tandorio versus a of the 62MAS with the PT5000 movement. And not as costly either. I've put mine on a Butterfly Jubilee bracelet. Brilliant. JANBOY. RN. Rtd
