Best coach out here, I work out for my own sanity. I don’t do it for competition for anything, it’s more for me and my mental. & man can I say, you make working out better for me when I go to the gym now, it’s different. If I don’t feel connection to any of my exercises, I adjust. I can lift heavy, but now I’m more worried about what I can control, contract, and push.

I'm sure a lot of people want shorter videos. But this guy's content is an exception. I envy the beginner lifters who discovered his videos cause they get skip all the bullshit and don't miss any gaps of how to actually bodybuild. Keep up the great Content 😀.
Thank you Mike. My training has gotten more fun and I honestly feel the muscle I'm working so much more. I lower the weight, concentrate on said muscle, and FEEL IT.

These videos have helped me SO much! I am not a pro bodybuilder or anything, I am just working out at the gym, but learning the proper technique of all these movements is what keeps you away from injuries. Mike, thank you very much for all the knowledge that you are giving us.

Great video big mike thanks for sharing that makes a lot of sense. I was doing 100lbs dumbbells bench and I admit I was not squeezing my peeks. I was just lifting them heavy ass weights.
Never disappoints! Fully guilty of pretty much all the stupidity mentioned in this. I was actually wondering why my outer chest/shoulder issues persisted after replacing barbell benching with dumbbell benching with much better wrist position. Mike, you absolutely are a saviour and saver of joints.
I've totally been going to heavy on the rear delt machine. He nailed it on how I am doing it wrong. I do the whole stack on the fly machine also. I'm doing it wrong, just like he shows.
Brilliant..... Just brilliant. Thank you very much sir. Continue pumping out this excellent content. I listen to every second of your content and replay it again. Next video can you do a rear delt .... I feel that muscle group is under rated and butchered
I’m going to implement this chest technique tomorrow. Thanks for your continued tips and information. I’m learning to manipulate these machines better as I practice your techniques. I’m actually learning to like machines I use to hate or hurt. Mike, thanks a lot!!
Man, i am so happy for the tips and motivation. I wish i could just visit you. Im in a chemotherapy combined immunotherapy treatment, trying hard to maintain my muscles, and fight the side effects with hard training. You motivate me and make me everyday exited to hit the gym. Thanks man for these great videos you make. You’re the best.. 💪🏽💪🏽
Mike, your input and analysis of the various exercises are perfect. I can tell that since I started watching your videos, when I lift something heavy and not connected in the gym, I remember your words that you must feel it and get connected, then I drop the weight by 20-30% and perform the exercise again till I can feel my muscles. Sometimes, we forget about it, and we are tempted again to lift heavy, not build but lift as you say. So I always remind myself to skip ego lifting and focus on building muscles.
Such great no bullshit straight to the point advise. No ego. Watched a podcast by Dr Andy Galpin (sports scientist) , and he basically said pick any exercise BUT engage the mind/muscle connection. FEEL the pump. It's not all about how much weight, but what you do with the weight that matters.
These videos have been invaluable for me since I started back after the great gymn close. Always useful for People to put away their egos at the door and listen to great general exercise advice and remembering the basics. Appreciate how much I’ve learned that I need to be mindful of in my training.
Monkey see, monkey do. I've been running gyms for years. No matter how much experience and knowledge you give some people, they'll still follow these bums. Love it! Keep your shit up!
If every gym had a Mike in it, imagine how many injuries would be prevented, imagine how many frustrated gym goes/trainers/bodybuilders would be making better gains and physiques being built. These videos on here are invaluable. Everybody can learn something from them. I know i am
If every young bodybuilder listened to this when they started they’d be worlds ahead of all of us lol unrelated to chest but related to connecting, I threw incline Db rows in my back day to hit mid/upper back recently. I had a hard time connecting to the movement and didn’t like the instability so instead of just grinding it out, I said fuck this exercise and I’ll find something I connect to better that serves the same purpose and doesn’t force me to work as hard for stability. Thanks again Mike!!!
Mike thank you again for another awesome video! Your explanation and demonstration of proper techniques is absolutely spot on! It makes total sense, and proof is in the pudding. I have been implementing your lifting techniques and feel everything so much more. I am starting to see results, and I have to give credit where credit is due. You have taught me so much. Please keep it coming! I appreciate you taking the time to do this for everyone that it is helping. Thank you again. You are truly one of the most knowledgeable people when it comes to bodybuilding I have ever met. 👍🙏
The only downside for me watching your video's is finding more shit I'm doing wrong, Back to square 1 for me, lol. Another awesome video & a big thank you Mike from australia :-)
Doing chest and back on mostly machines has helped my growth so much,I basically never do free weight presses because I always feel more shoulder than chest.
All the gym bros press dbs straight up because they can use a lot of weight. There is literally no chest contraction or activation. You can observe their front delts doing al the work. But as long as they can brag about progressive overload to their buddies on Instagram its all good! Mike is absolutely spot on here. I was watching old Lee Priest footage and he pushes the dbs together at the top of the concentric just like Mike to generate a chest contraction.
Mike, I need to lighten my dumbbell so that I get that squeeze in the middle. I do not go heavy but need to make sure my form is correct and then increase the weight. Do you sell thermal shirts?
I used to not do dumbbell for the same reasons but the other day I did them superset with flat bench just to try something new again but I did them lying on the floor where my elbows stopped the spread the motion was small but it actually felt pretty good but you gotta go light I was using 17 lbs with good slow open good focus squeezing
Thank you sir for your knowledge. I need to figure out whether on my weight lifter or a bodybuilder. And I’m also blind and I used to have the muscle connection with my chest and my back I just lost it because I was trying to impress. Myself lol
