Kakarot197: **a few videos ago** Oh hey, someone asked about the model numbers for mobile suits. That could be fun. Kakarot197: **now** I've made a horrible mistake...
Those Turn A designations are easy, they're seemingly random simply because they're from countries, armies or engineers in the dark history, who's existence is lost to time. It's like building WWII tanks 1k years from now and wondering why they have such random designations when the countries they were made by don't exist.
Agreed. I think there was something to that effect in the background of the series. For example, the Wodom could mean a unit of Neo-Japan from G-Gundam. Though I do not know about that Model U that was I guess recently added. I never saw it being used like that before now. Shrug.
I think the Wodom's model number is a reference to G Gundam considering the infamy of Turn A manages to mishmash AU Gundam series together as a single universe.
yeah! actually, i think he already did SEED and SEED Destiny, maybe. as for Build Series, i wanna see him go in depth and also explain its place in the Dark History (with my theory being that in that version of the Dark History, they did some sort of Plavsky Particle or whatever experiment on a Perfect Grade Turn A Gundam Gunpla (one can only WISH for a Perfect Grade Turn A. tho i would prefer it to be Perfect Grade Unleashed) and it went haywire and did the thing, which would also explain the lack of knowledge on who the pilot was, or if there even was a pilot when the Turn A first destroyed society)
7:36 - At first, it didn't make sense to me as to why the Leopard, the Heavyarms-esque Gundam of X, is named after a stealthy big cat; now it makes sense to me.
The W in the Airmaster's model number could probably stand for "wing" as it's an aerial unit, just as the T in the Leopard could be for tank, since it's an artillery unit.
and obviously the Nemo's beam saber is number 1 when it comes to killing. no but really, it's number 1 for reducing collateral damage since it was tuned NOT to cut in order to encourage stabbing (which i'm sure it is safe to assume that that is a holdover from the Nemo's AEUG days)
When i heard "giant robots controlled by a steering wheel" i imediatley thought of the power rangers RPM and operation over drive megazords being controlled by steering wheels

My theory with the "MR" and "MRC" is that it means "Moon Race" and "Moon Race Combat" since the only suit to use the "MR" in its model number is technically a Mobile Worker... but then that is completely shot down by the Bellona, a Mobile Worker with "MRC".
From my understanding the C was for Custom. And denoted that it was either a custom design or a mass production design that the pilot was allowed to customize.
Just a guess for Neo France's second suit. It might be a reference to the Foreign Legion or as its called in French, the Légion étrangère. I know the letters aren't in order but its also a triple language combo with Japanese, English, and French

Can't say I blame you for not wanting to figure out some of the Turn A units. The Gozzo especially is a tossup. I remember reading early information that suggested the Gozzo was from the Wing After Colony timeline. Considering units like the Wing Gundam had a large glass dome on the chest, said technology could have been refined into the Gozzo's cockpit hatch. Some current information though seems to hint the Gozzo to be from the Gundam X timeline. Really it could be either of them.

I'm guessing in Turn-A they only used MS for more general-use suits they excavated, and more specialized designations for specialized units: SPA-51 Cannon Illefuto most likely means Self-Propelled Artillery. TAF-M9 Eagail might just be "Transformable M9"? Like everything else in Turn-A, it's a mishmash by design. But my hat's off to you for trying to tackle it.
the NRS-P701Gozzo could confirm its from Gundam X because the New United Nations Earth used NRX for many of its Mobile Suit model numbers so they might be related in some way

The S in the attack helicopter for Neo America could be for Strike (which is ground attack for aircraft. eg. F-15S Strike Eagle, the ground attack focused variant). The USAF uses both strike and attack as words for ground warfare aerial units
Question of the week (with regards to the model numbers): RGM-89 is the vanilla Jegan which appeared in CCA, U.C.0093 and 1988 in the real world. RGM-89D is the 'Jegan D Type' or aka 'Jegan Type-D' according to the HGUC box arts that appeared in Gundam Unicorn, U.C.0096 and 2010 in real life. Also in Unicorn, the RGM-89A2 is simply 'Jegan Type-A2', the RGM-89De stands for 'Jegan D Ecoas Type' and the RGM-89S stands for the 'Stark Jegan' and the 'EWAC Jegan' was numbered RGM-89DEW. The 'Jegan Type-D Escort Type' from Gundam Narrative is numbered RGM-89D-ESC. All that is understandable and reasonable. But when it comes to F91 I got super confused. According to the PB HGUC box art, 'Jegan A Type' is numbered RGM-89R rather than RGM-89A, which I have absolutely no clue about what the R stands for and why it is not assigned the model number RGM-89A. The same goes for the RGM-89J 'Jegan Normal Type' and the RGM-89M 'Jegan B Type'. The R, the J and the M after Jegan's model number do not make any sense to me and I doubt there is something to do with the order the anime released in real life as well as a reason in the U.C. universe. What is your opinion on this as the expert on the model numbers?
Personally I'd the JMA-0530 (Model U) Walking dome's model number is very similar to those used by Neo Japan Mobile Armors during Future Century suggesting it could be from there. While the NRS-P701 Gozzo's numbering scheme bears resemblence to those used by the New UNE from Gundam X and during scenes where it's cockpit and control seat are visable they bear an exact resemblence to those used by the New UNE from Gundam X. Furthermore the Gozzo is said to be one of the oldest machines the Moonrace had access to.
The Turn A gundam model number to me is pretty obvious because they call it the white doll or WD, then m for mobile suit, it's the only one so 01. WD-M01. Then for moonrace, I think the Sumo being MRC and the excavator being MR is in fact to stand for MoonRace, but the sumo being a fighting unit means MoonRace Combat. Since the excavator is a civilian unit it does not get the combat designation.
Maybe the r in the revolutionary mobile suits numbers stands for refurbished repurposed or retrofitted, I mean any one of those could fit with gundam x taking place after a war
question of the week. if you can send 1 mass production unit (with a sufficiently trained old type pilot) from anywhere in the UC timeline back to OYW to single handedly win it for whichever side you choose which would it be?
This is fucking easy to answer: RGM-89S Stark Jegan and piloted by an unnamed veteran of the Second Neo Zeon conflict. He had Marida Cruz beat if it wasn't for that heavy ass anti-beam shielding she had on the front of the co-pit of the NZ-666 Kshatriya. If you put that unit and pilot (mind you he/she is an old-type) on the EFSF side he would wreck Zeon so badly they would give up the fight within first two months.
You know I had a thought where Kakarot mentioned that he thinks the D in the UNE Model Numbers is actually due to the name of their machines always sporting Daugh at the front. Well, my idea would have Daugh being the actual company that developed and built the mobile suits. Or least the abbreviation for the company name anyways. Just a thought I had when he mentioned that during the video.
Question "Do you think Gundam Stats "make sense" vs their on screen depictions?" You use the information from the stats to inform your lore and development history videos but I've seen it said they have too many inconsistencies to be reliable (UA-camr boofire191 made a good video on this subject)
U know, someone from Sunrise & Bandai should publish a Gundam Encyclopedia w/ a glossary of designation suffixes divided into which timeline & faction, so it would make it much easier 4 us 2 understand. Someone should publish Jane's Mighty Mechs.
While I’m not exactly sure about most of the turn a mobile suits, the MA in the Wadoms name could simply mean moblie armour due to its large size and it’s not-exactly humanoid appearance but that is just a guess.
I have yet another question of the week from Gundam Unicorn, what happened to the Gouf that came out the castle we see it show itself but does not show up at the Torrington battle.
Can I make a suggestion with the G Gundam model numbers? Instead of year it entered service, it could be the expected year of exiting service. Some gun companies do that to show how long they expect it to serve in a military, law enforcement, or just how long they originally plan to make parts for it.
Well, I've theory that Gozzo's NRS is related to NR/NRX from After War era. Either an error in their database, or the Black History's After War era isn't exactly the same as After War era we know.
Except the JMA is strictly a moonrace machine. The only mobile suits that were dug up were zakus and capules...and i guess whatever the queens old flame piloted...
@@seabookarno1664 i was thinking about what was dug up on earth. I know some of the moonrace stuff was dug up too. But to say something is japanese when it was dug up by the moonrace seems weird
10:16 reminder that the Gadeel (the mobile armor shown here) was defeated by the 15 year old Gundam Airmaster. hell, the Airmaster beat TWO of them, tho in all fairness, barely.
Question: How do pilots control a mobile suit really? I know that most MS cockpits have two levers/sticks similar to the throttle lever we have in airplanes, and they're also equipped with foot-pedals. But how do MS pilots control the roll, the yaw and the axis movement of the MS, not to mention the individual hand or arm movements we see when an MS tries to grab something, etc...
There is a video that show how an ms is controled: ua-cam.com/video/y4HSI4_yNF4/v-deo.html There is also the intro scene in Unicorn the pilot using multiple buttons in the throttle from the stark jaegan.
I'm suddenly regretting having no images for the units from my novel... They're easy! EMMF - Earth Machine Mobile Forces, the Gundams developed on Earth in secret; OC-X are mass-produced Mobile Suits developed by ONI from one of the missing Gundam blueprints; MNSF - Martian Naval Special Forces, the Gundams developed from the other three missing blueprints; MAGB and MAGB-T2, the letters are Mobile Armour follwed by the nation to which it belongs, in this example Grand Britain, followed by sequential numbers as per tradition, while T2 refers to the small build number Whalebanes, so big they require two pilots, though they're not much bigger than the kind of Glider seen in Stargate SG-1, each pilot operates either flight or weapons, it can be swapped round mid-flight should such a need ever arise!
As a Turn A fanboy, I can try to take a stab at the model numbers for the series. The Turn A's System-∀99 could have it's multiple meanings. The System could refer to the I-Field Beam Drive System that makes it move its limbs and provide thrust, or even its Nanomachine Regeneration System that keeps it well repaired. The "∀" is self explanatory, and 99 can mean anything. -The WaDOM's lettering is close to Neo Japan's (JMA) as people stated, but that might be a coincidence as Gundam X has the RMS designation for the Space Revolutionary suits, a designation for certain Titan suits. -Speaking of the underrated series, The Gozzo's NRS designation might be a Gundam X reference, since it's cockpit is similar to the New UNE's, which had a similar model number, NR. Considering the Gozzo is a Long Range Support type, maybe NRS means "New Renpo/Federation Support" or simply "New Renpo Suit" -I also noticed that every suit the Ghingham Fleet has always has a G in front of it, the G-838 Mahiroo seems pretty self explanatory, probably the number being when it was designed since Gym and his buddies were in Cold Sleep for a long time, and the G-M1F Bandit and G-M2F Zssan are both stationed on the moon, so the M could stand for that, and F meaning Force/fighter, since one is built to suppress other Mobile suits and the other is a assault type. -Concept-X 6-1-2 Turn X is a tricky one. The "Concept" can be the name of the designer, or simply just the meaning of the word. X is also self explanatory, but the numbers caught me off guard. I speculate that those numbers represent the 9 parts the Turn X can separate into. The "2" being the hands as one has the Shining Finger, the "1" representing the X-Top which serves as the cockpit, and the "6" being every other one. For the rest, your guess is good as mine. But I hope this helps anyone who's interested.
Oh, and one more thing I found out about the Mahiroo from the Newtype 100% Collection ∀ Gundam Vol.2; The model numbers represent G = Ghingham, 8 = the number of constituent molecules of the muscle fiber polymer motor, 3 = the number of data buses of the drive system control system, and 8 = the degree of freedom of the drive shaft of the muscle fiber polymer motor. Volume 1 also states "System-∀99" means "99 products of System ∀."
turn a is simply explanation for the sumo its the MRC means moon race combatant, for the others well im under the impression that they are all produced by different manufacturers
Quick question which gundam mk ii kit would you say is the most solid and posable? I am really stuck between the rg and hg revive and don't know which one to get
Could you make more video like why zeon/titans are defeated? Also, a question, why does gundam in seed destiny made by ZAFT doesn't follow the aesthetics of their other MS: having the monoeye.
I think the MoonRace model numbers are probably meant to show just how disorganized that faction(s) is as frequently shown in the Anime. They're entire military is literally run by 2000 year old simulation warriors who thought 🌎 was a bunch of Barbarians that would simply roll over for them. Also the factional infighting and blatant discrimination against anybody who came from Earth more recently.

Justyeet I read the mad Wang manga and the mech designs are weird and should be considered au instead of uc
4:55 Its beautiful
The Turn A gundam model number to me is pretty obvious because they call it the white doll or WD, then m for mobile suit, it's the only one so 01. WD-M01. Then for moonrace, I think the Sumo being MRC and the excavator being MR is in fact to stand for MoonRace, but the sumo being a fighting unit means MoonRace Combat. Since the excavator is a civilian unit it does not get the combat designation.
For the airmaster I think the W mean wing.
Even in the future century aquatic mobile suites look like they where made by aliens.
im huge fan of this number series. can you cover next the ships across different gundam universes ?
Maybe the r in the revolutionary mobile suits numbers stands for refurbished repurposed or retrofitted, I mean any one of those could fit with gundam x taking place after a war
Looking forward for the CE series.
There was info before on what the OMNI Enforcers numbers meant... But that was more than a decade ago
question of the week.
if you can send 1 mass production unit (with a sufficiently trained old type pilot) from anywhere in the UC timeline back to OYW to single handedly win it for whichever side you choose which would it be?
This is fucking easy to answer: RGM-89S Stark Jegan and piloted by an unnamed veteran of the Second Neo Zeon conflict. He had Marida Cruz beat if it wasn't for that heavy ass anti-beam shielding she had on the front of the co-pit of the NZ-666 Kshatriya. If you put that unit and pilot (mind you he/she is an old-type) on the EFSF side he would wreck Zeon so badly they would give up the fight within first two months.
The flag with Graham Aker,
@@ten_of_diamonds7575 thats the AD timeline not UC but a Flag would wreck shop
7:50
Maybe the w stands for wing
Mark this as the day Kakarot started to lose his mind.
I think he already lost it when he first made hazel madness series
eh, wait till he renames his channel to Jobby3
Maybe the Da was the 1st mobile suite in the timeline before after war.
Maybe to X DT means
Defender
Terran
DT either Dah type of Dah Technology, like it's named after the developer.
9:10 OH LAWD HE COMIN
Every now and then I go back to this video and skip ahead to the Turn A part so I can grab a secure password.
I’m gonna guess the W on the Airmaster from AWX stands for “winged” since it flies in atmosphere
Yey, it's here, buuut I'm expecting the Cosmic Era.
U know, someone from Sunrise & Bandai should publish a Gundam Encyclopedia w/ a glossary of designation suffixes divided into which timeline & faction, so it would make it much easier 4 us 2 understand. Someone should publish Jane's Mighty Mechs.
The NRS-P701 seems like a X design and the TAF-M9 looks like a SEED design. So, combined multiverse... Yeah.
TA is destined to be a “Sum up”,so every universe model conversion before TA can be showed
I came here with one hope, one hope to find out what the fuck "XXXG" stands for. My hopes were crushed.
While I’m not exactly sure about most of the turn a mobile suits, the MA in the Wadoms name could simply mean moblie armour due to its large size and it’s not-exactly humanoid appearance but that is just a guess.
DT is probably Daughtress Type
I have yet another question of the week from Gundam Unicorn, what happened to the Gouf that came out the castle we see it show itself but does not show up at the Torrington battle.
Can I make a suggestion with the G Gundam model numbers? Instead of year it entered service, it could be the expected year of exiting service. Some gun companies do that to show how long they expect it to serve in a military, law enforcement, or just how long they originally plan to make parts for it.
I was thinking the numbers could be what iteration of that ms.
You are entertaining for gundam info
I got a laugh out of seeing the Megas XLR.
p- 143S dubbed the Ugly Duckling
P-143S is clearly Parry the platypus
Well, I've theory that Gozzo's NRS is related to NR/NRX from After War era. Either an error in their database, or the Black History's After War era isn't exactly the same as After War era we know.
Doesn;t Moonrace uses machines fromDiferent universes/timelines thats why the JMA-0530 is Japan Mobile Armour (like in G Gundam)?
Except the JMA is strictly a moonrace machine. The only mobile suits that were dug up were zakus and capules...and i guess whatever the queens old flame piloted...
@@bryfunkenstein Actually. Apparently, it is now said to be dug up from the Moon's Moon Cycles before the start of the series.
@@robertdrexel2043 could be...could be...
@@bryfunkenstein Muttowoo, Zssan and Turn-X was MS that dug up by Moonrace.
@@seabookarno1664 i was thinking about what was dug up on earth. I know some of the moonrace stuff was dug up too. But to say something is japanese when it was dug up by the moonrace seems weird
MG P-143S pescatore & also PG Nether Gundam with motorized windmill unit when Bandai?
For the NEL-75C how about Neo England Labor(er) - 75C?
10:16 reminder that the Gadeel (the mobile armor shown here) was defeated by the 15 year old Gundam Airmaster. hell, the Airmaster beat TWO of them, tho in all fairness, barely.
for neo England the t in their model suit could type so net6-ms could mean Neo England Type 6 - Mobile Suit.
I have a question, what happened to Sweetwater after Char's Rebellion? I have looked every where to answer this question but I can't find anything...
There is a video that show how an ms is controled: ua-cam.com/video/y4HSI4_yNF4/v-deo.html
There is also the intro scene in Unicorn the pilot using multiple buttons in the throttle from the stark jaegan.
They use OS for MS, something that only explored by SEED-Destiny although not in very detail manner.
Oh Boi Gundam Seed is up.
Nel could be Neo England Liason
Considering the Gozzo is a Long Range Support type, maybe NRS means "New Renpo/Federation Support" or simply "New Renpo Suit"
-I also noticed that every suit the Ghingham Fleet has always has a G in front of it, the G-838 Mahiroo seems pretty self explanatory, probably the number being when it was designed since Gym and his buddies were in Cold Sleep for a long time, and the G-M1F Bandit and G-M2F Zssan are both stationed on the moon, so the M could stand for that, and F meaning Force/fighter, since one is built to suppress other Mobile suits and the other is a assault type.
"W is Wumbo" - Patrick Star
Neo England Lease
Best guess I have.
Clearly NEL means Neo Elegant Lad
That Mexico mobile suit looks like a kappa hahaha
Day 1 on asking Kakarot to do a G generation Crossrays Playthrough. 🤣
Xabungle has steering wheels XD
I can't believe your actually doing this lol.
Quick question which gundam mk ii kit would you say is the most solid and posable? I am really stuck between the rg and hg revive and don't know which one to get
@I am Petitgguy I really want a new experience as hg's are essential the same build
So I am curious what did both sides do with both the dead and survivors of any given engagement if the 1 year war and other wars?
Could you make more video like why zeon/titans are defeated? Also, a question, why does gundam in seed destiny made by ZAFT doesn't follow the aesthetics of their other MS: having the monoeye.
He does have old videos on why Zeon and the Titans lost
I think the MoonRace model numbers are probably meant to show just how disorganized that faction(s) is as frequently shown in the Anime. They're entire military is literally run by 2000 year old simulation warriors who thought 🌎 was a bunch of Barbarians that would simply roll over for them. Also the factional infighting and blatant discrimination against anybody who came from Earth more recently.
No, the A in the Murphy's model number stands for AMERICA!
