I'm with you on Exia. In the last battle when Exia returned in full form I teared up. Then I went and bought myself an Exia Gundam Kit with light up a GN Drive.
Carlos reyes i love Wing for the nostalgia since it was my 1st Gundam show, but Wing Zero, Strike Freedom and some other gundams are crossing the line back into super robot, the very genre Gundam set out to differentiate itself from in the 1st place by pioneering the real robot genre.
That is why i fell in love with IBO. Its a realistically fresh take on the genre. I also love their choice to not incorporate beam weapons in the story as giving gundam energy weapons can turn most fight scene into cheap flashy light show too fast. Not to mention that since IBO uses blunt weapons, its easier to visualize all the pain and suffering a pilot can experience in these series, not that it lacks any visualisation most dying pilots in this show. XD
I honestly don't have any issues with this list... Except one. Kira is NOT Kira "Jesus" Yamato, it just Kira Yamato. People just keep referring to him as Jesus because his character has so much plot armor he could probably tank a shot from the Moon Light Butterfly and then still tank the point-blank nuclear explosion of his Freedom Gundam and live. HOW CAN ANY "HUMAN" TANK A NUCLEAR EXPLOSION THAT OCCURS LITERALLY 10 FEET FROM YOU AND NOT BE KILLED! Also, the Strike Freedom uses the broken Voiture Lumiere propulsion system, that system can NEVER work the way it is described.
Epyon always seems to get kicked around as worthless,I liked it simply because it didn't Beam Cannons or Machine Guns or Extension Arms,even the Heat Rod had a limited range it was a close quarters/melee range mobile suit.
RX-78-2 always guys, always will be the #1 in a top ten gundam list and it's simple because it's the first Gundam, not only the idea of "real mecha" serie, not only eliminate the gigantor idea from mechas and their "brother/father image" of the mecha. It was so simple at that moment "The mecha it's a warmachine, simple as that", tha'ts the reason why Gundams are so popular since 1979.
I always loved the original because it had what it needed and nothing more. A heavy weapon, check. A beam rifle that could hit targets at a distance, check. A shield to block stuff with, check. And beam sabers for melee, check. It wasn't super flashy with over the top fire power but if Amuro needed something done the Gundam had the tools for the job.

Seed,Wing, and 00 are on the list but you know what? Without either of those additions Gundam would not survive to 2017. I would place Unicorn in top 3 because of the fact that its full psychoframe stopped a colony laser, and it travelled through time, basically made its pilot transcend the human form and then return. 00 QAN (T) also belongs for essentially the same reasons. Aside from the Turn A, those two are the most powerful Gundams ever.
Adrian Javellana Especially since it's more of an all-round Gundam and it doesn't really have a special gimmick/Ace-In-The-Hole besides its Blue Flame mode which would kill Mika if he used it for too long

Why the eff do so many like the stupid EW version of Wing Zero? The wings are impractical and it loses its shield that the normal version had in the series. The series version LOOKS like a Gundam. The movie version looks like it belongs in Evangelion or Code Geass or some bullshit like that.
Cordude And normally I'd agree with you on that. But #Prime92 personally pointed this video out to me, and said 'it is good'. So, I held my nose and dove in... and, truthfully, I was not disappointed this time. They actually took the time to do some damn _research_ and they listened to the feedback from the last list. The fact they said things like 'the Wing ZERO has more personallity that its pilot' and mentioned the infamous Kira Yamato's -fan- cultist nickname proves this.
My favorite is still the X-20A Strike Freedom and Kira as the Pilot. Perfect duality between don't wanting to fight and having the power to finish of everything in the blink of an eye

Then, first of all, good taste, I very much agree with you, but do you know about the Exia Avalanche? If not, look it up on the Gundam Wiki, it's from the Mobile Suit Gundam 00V manga. It's the Exia equipped with a high speed/high maneuverability armor pack called the "Avalanche" armor pack.

3 years later, it gets bodied by the Wing Zero, which later proceeds to get destroyed by the Burning G. My man, if you were to compare specifics, the Quant would have it hard against other Universes, specially those not heavily focused on Laser/Beam tech.
I like how Gundam 00 brought RX-78 as the first Mobile suit to ever use a GN Drive and gotta love how they renamed it Gundam 0, pity the antagonist piloted it to get destroyed by Gundam Exia

Jetfire48 This list (and the previous one) goes off how iconic and popular they are. And the original Rx782 is by far the most iconic Gundam and it will always be that way.
My two top favourite would be the wing gundam and the gx divider. As for terms of raw destructive power I'd say the Double X, Wing Zero, 00-Raiser and is it the GP-01 or 02 that fires nukes.
The thing is, in a duel, moonlight butterfly isn't that good, sure it's a super weapon but a quicker gundam can start destroying turn A before it can fire, not like regeneration is perfect either. Most powerful, turn A, but best overall, could be any of these really.

I think Gundam Zabanya from Gundam 00 movie is worth mentioning since it has equal or more fire power with Strike Freedom. That's just me since I thought that the Gundams in the 00 movie are all powerful.

Personally, I like Barbatos. The story. The sequence. And most especially the mysteriously of leading gundam, barbatos, that made from hundred year ago...
Without getting into too much detail, in the grand scheme of things the GP-03S Stamen really isn't that much of a stand-out Gundam-in-name. It has a common beam rifle, a common bazooka, -some Vulcan guns in the temples- a pair of common beam sabers, a compactable shield, and... well, that's it. In fact, other than an advancement of technology in only, like, _one year,_ the GP-03S isn't really all that different from what the original RX-78 offers except perhaps only its _lack_ of a Core Block System! It's nothing special _unless_ you add the brick-ish cargo carrier-with-a-big-gun Dendrobium Orchid to the mix, and _even then_ it loses its "Gundam" status (and thus position on this list) because at that point it's a "mobile armor" and not a "mobile suit". Strike Freedom can get away with being on this list because it _isn't incomplete_ if it's not attached to a METEOR Unit; the same goes for Exia (GN Arms Type-E), the RX-78 (G-Fighter), and Gundam Mk-II (G-Defensor).
No it can't. The Zero system only gives possible outcomes with the data it's currently collected. It wouldn't win every single time. Like if it fought a brand new Gundam. It would have no info on it, so the possible outcomes would simply be dependent on what the Zero system has learned from other battles. Anything new the opponent uses would be a surprise.
@@Prime92 the zero system in the wing zero is always active and it gathers data on the battlefield. It has been proven that it can adapt to changes in battle with no problems
My personal fav is the Strike Freedom, and close 2nd is Barbatos. Would love to see the RX-78 Gundam in a more modernized animation style like the latest Gundam-series are, but since i only started watching the Gundam franchise at SEED, i prefer the modern style.
neocyndaquil the series 00 would rank in the stratosphere compared to seed, but seed did produce some cool suit designs that were marred by the shit characters and need for beam spam
My favorite unit from G Gundam is the Devil Gundam, despite the fact that it's evil and decided to create what was essentially just a lobster shaped Mobile Armor for it's legs
I personally agree with you. Nothing beats the granddaddy of all Gundams ( this is only my opinion I'm literally sure that all of the Gundams in this list can destroy the RX-78-2) this should've been "iconic Gundams" than top 10 Gundams.
I was surprised to find God Gundam on this list because I feel like he's very underrated. Sunrise mixed two of my favorite things together: Gundam and martial arts and thus, G Gundam became my favorite Gundam series, and yes, I agree that some of the Gundam designs were plain stupid, like Zebra Gundam and Mermaid Gundam. But as soon as God Gundam appeared out of that huge capsule, I knew shit was going down. The plot was getting a lot better at that point too, not that the plot of the first half was bad. Anyways, here's my personal top ten (just Gundams): 1. God Gundam 2. Strike Freedom Gundam 3. 00 Raiser 4. Infinite Justice Gundam 5. 00 QanT 6. Gundam Astray Gold Frame Amatsu Mina 7. But not nearly as special as grandpa Gundam RX-78-2. Nice list. A huge step up from the first list. (Also shoutout the Exia. Another badass mobile suit!)
"Sir", actually. The Cult of Jesus Yamato is a very specific, very small and particularly ravenous group of _SEED/SEED Destiny_ fans. They claim that because Kira Yamato had three miraculous escapes from death (which would have annihilated any other competent character in either series), he is _literally_ immortal and hands-down thee very best MS pilot (and, by extension, thee very best character) _ever_ in the entire _Gundam_ franchise. The three miracles are as follows: *1* - the Aegis Gundam self-destructing at point-blank range while he was inside the breached/exposed cockpit of the Strike Gundam. The TV series never explains or shows how Kira miraculosly was transported to a PLANT, but it is described in the MSV _SEED Astray_ that the Junk Guild group just-so-happened to be in the area at the time and was covertly watching the fight, and took Kira to the PLANT. (Of course, if you don't read the MSV, then you don't know this!) *2* - _[I am soooo blanking on the second miracle right now, I'm sorry!]_ *3* - the explosion of the Freedom Gundam's nuclear reactor from the Impulse Gundam impaling it with its Anti-Ship Sword. NOTE: For _SEED Destiny Remastered, new animation was added_ which shows Kira hit the Neutron Jammer Canceller activation button a split second before the reactor was hit; thus preventing a nuclear explosion due to the mechanics of how NJCs work. However, this is highly contested by fans because a massive explosion still occurs, but the show's staff claim they added this moment because such an explosion is 'not nuclear' and thus explains how Kira survived the destruction of the Freedom Gundam _even while he was still seated inside of it._ (An example of Cultists at work; don't mind the enthusiasm of the voice- ua-cam.com/video/EcWHKT8eH8s/v-deo.html ) It is well known that both _Mobile Suit Gundam SEED_ and _Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny_ (both acknowledged by Sunrise and Bandai as intentional remakes/rehashings of the original Universal Century series _0079, Z_ and _ZZ,_ respectively) were plagued with plot holes and bad writing behind-the-scenes. However, Cultists ignore these blatantly-obvious production flaws and instead use them as convenient excuses for their own arguments and case, to prove that Kira "Jesus" Yamato is- in their minds- the greatest MS pilot _ever._

Though it is officially recognized as "Char Aznable", in the earlier years translators and actors on both sides of the pond would often pronounce and spell his given name as "Shar" or "Shah". Leave 'em be, please. Oh, also, British accent.
GP-02 should have been on the list outright. Before the new OVA projectes in the UC timeline that thing was the gold standard of design for any Gundam not named the RX-78
If this were uploaded in 2019, Jona Basta's Narrative Gundam (especially C Packs) from Mobile Suit Gundam Narrative would be the 4th Honorable Mention after Gundam Alex, and the intro of this video would say that this Redux was also to celebrate the 40th anniversary. This is just my opinion, tho.

Someone at mojo has a vendetta against Build fighters. Not one yet. An I know that it is a show about toys, but it doesn't change the fact that some of those Gundams look, fight, and perform amazingly. An really, aren't all Gundam shows just toy commercials in the end? Lightning Zeta Gundam from try, and Star build strike would have made a good addition to the list. Edit: I rewatched the video I was thinking of and it was the top 10 Gundam pilots that said no Build fighters. Still though, this list needs a mech from build fighters.
Exia has nothing against the 00 Raiser which can teleport and exert massive amounts of power. The Full Armor Gundam of Thunderbolt should also be on this list. At least you added the Nu Gundam.
This is not a "most-powerful blue-colored Gundam ever" list, but rather a[nother] "most popular blue-colored Gundam according to Watch Mojo" list. _But to be fair,_ they at least fixed their mistakes from the previous _Gundam_ listing, _and_ show clear signs of actual _research_ this time. Debate the order on this list all you like, but give credit where credit is due, please.
Its their favorites, not the most powerful. I LOVE that they put the Original Gundam at number one and the RX-78 deserves it. Strike Freedom for me should've been 3 with the Wing Zero at 2. Sorry but the angel wing Gundam remains the most iconic gundam mobile suit in the series. And they also got rid of that dreadful Star Build Gundam. I liked Build Fighters but their mobile suit gunpla need a list of their own.

Karlo DC Epyon may have had _a degree of_ bad-ass, but the fact it had zero ranged-combat weapons cuts it right out as a contender, in my opinion. Considering Shenlong/Altron/Nataku can best it in every way just by itself (not to mention the other CQC Sandrock), it's difficult to say that the too-OP-must-nerf EPYON System compensates for this. ...Ah, who am I kidding? _Gundam W_ had a lot of stupid shit happening in it and I dis it as much as possible!
Gotta agree with the person above. Epyon is designed for close combat superiority and somehow got defeated by wing zero which is designed for range battle in a melee fight.
Why do you exist? Epyon was great, and technically, it was more powerful than the Wing Zero as it was faster *AND* more heavily armoured, but Epyon was DESIGNED to cap the Wing Zero's power, and therefore, (along with the sense of honour or both the primary pilot (Millardo Peacecraft) and is builder/Designer (Treize Kushranada) it has no ranged armament (except arguably head vulcans after joining White Fang, but that's an argument all on it's own.) Also, anyone else remember when Epyon sliced through an entire colony with it's Variable-Output Beam Saber connected to the Suit's main power supply? Now, obviously you're allowed to have opinions, and if you don't like Epyon, well, I'm sorry for you. But that Epyon is less powerful, that it's weak, that is stating a fact, and an untrue one at that, next time, so your research before you comment next time, at least most of this can almost definitely be found on the Gundam Wiki on Epyon's page.
I personally like these Gundams for their special reasons: 1. The RX-78 (& RX-78-2) for being the icon of Gundam in its entirety 2. The Barbatos for its tenacity and unrivaled melee prowess (plus its upgrades) 3. The ZZ (& Zeta) for their packs (plus for being one of the first transforming Gundam I know of) 4. The Freedom (& Strike Freedom) for its high power and plethora of cannons (plus for getting more OP upgrades, even in the upcoming Freedom film) and 5. The Aerial for being the first all-new Gundam in the 2020s. Watchmojo, it'd be nice if you could create a top 20 Mobile Suit Gundams list given how far the series has come up to 2024 (Happy New Year to all!).
This list, it's three times faster-I mean better than the last! Much better choices and glad to see WatchMojo making references to shows cos they ACTUALLY WATCHED them.
People seem to forget that the Turn A's moonlight butterfly can literally end civilization. Well this video was... better than the other one... but Strike Freedom sucks, aesthetically. At least the RX-78-2 is getting the respect it deserves here, and Nu and Zeta made the list. At least they used correct clips for every suit. Remember last time when they thought Wing Gundam was Wing Zero? There is still a lot of improvement to be made.
Turn A has only ever ended civilization once. You act like it can do that all the time. It's not about functionality, but popularity, appearance and iconic status, so the Turn A is of course going to be low based on that criteria

What Jetfire said could actually true since it is still a theory. But yes it did actually ended a lot of civilization from other gundam series like Wing, X, G and UC if you've seen the dark history. The only theory about this is whether the entire gundam franchise is happening in a single universe or rather on a multiple universes. But we cannot change the fact that the Turn A did destroyed those civilizations mentioned earlier.

I honestly don't have any issues with this list... Except one. Kira is NOT Kira "Jesus" Yamato, it just Kira Yamato. People just keep referring to him as Jesus because his character has so much plot armor he could probably tank a shot from the Moon Light Butterfly and then still tank the point-blank nuclear explosion of his Freedom Gundam and live. HOW CAN ANY "HUMAN" TANK A NUCLEAR EXPLOSION THAT OCCURS LITERALLY 10 FEET FROM YOU AND NOT BE KILLED! Also, the Strike Freedom uses the broken Voiture Lumiere propulsion system, that system can NEVER work the way it is described.

RX-78-2 always guys, always will be the #1 in a top ten gundam list and it's simple because it's the first Gundam, not only the idea of "real mecha" serie, not only eliminate the gigantor idea from mechas and their "brother/father image" of the mecha. It was so simple at that moment "The mecha it's a warmachine, simple as that", tha'ts the reason why Gundams are so popular since 1979.
I always loved the original because it had what it needed and nothing more. A heavy weapon, check. A beam rifle that could hit targets at a distance, check. A shield to block stuff with, check. And beam sabers for melee, check. It wasn't super flashy with over the top fire power but if Amuro needed something done the Gundam had the tools for the job.

I would place Unicorn in top 3 because of the fact that its full psychoframe stopped a colony laser, and it travelled through time, basically made its pilot transcend the human form and then return. 00 QAN (T) also belongs for essentially the same reasons. Aside from the Turn A, those two are the most powerful Gundams ever.
You can't go wrong with Barbatos, when it comes to hand-to-hand combat.

The thing is, in a duel, moonlight butterfly isn't that good, sure it's a super weapon but a quicker gundam can start destroying turn A before it can fire, not like regeneration is perfect either. Most powerful, turn A, but best overall, could be any of these really.

Without getting into too much detail, in the grand scheme of things the GP-03S Stamen really isn't that much of a stand-out Gundam-in-name. It has a common beam rifle, a common bazooka, -some Vulcan guns in the temples- a pair of common beam sabers, a compactable shield, and... well, that's it. In fact, other than an advancement of technology in only, like, _one year,_ the GP-03S isn't really all that different from what the original RX-78 offers except perhaps only its _lack_ of a Core Block System!
It's nothing special _unless_ you add the brick-ish cargo carrier-with-a-big-gun Dendrobium Orchid to the mix, and _even then_ it loses its "Gundam" status (and thus position on this list) because at that point it's a "mobile armor" and not a "mobile suit". Strike Freedom can get away with being on this list because it _isn't incomplete_ if it's not attached to a METEOR Unit; the same goes for Exia (GN Arms Type-E), the RX-78 (G-Fighter), and Gundam Mk-II (G-Defensor).

No it can't. The Zero system only gives possible outcomes with the data it's currently collected. It wouldn't win every single time. Like if it fought a brand new Gundam. It would have no info on it, so the possible outcomes would simply be dependent on what the Zero system has learned from other battles. Anything new the opponent uses would be a surprise.

My personal fav is the Strike Freedom, and close 2nd is Barbatos. Would love to see the RX-78 Gundam in a more modernized animation style like the latest Gundam-series are, but since i only started watching the Gundam franchise at SEED, i prefer the modern style.

I was surprised to find God Gundam on this list because I feel like he's very underrated. Sunrise mixed two of my favorite things together: Gundam and martial arts and thus, G Gundam became my favorite Gundam series, and yes, I agree that some of the Gundam designs were plain stupid, like Zebra Gundam and Mermaid Gundam. But as soon as God Gundam appeared out of that huge capsule, I knew shit was going down. The plot was getting a lot better at that point too, not that the plot of the first half was bad.

They claim that because Kira Yamato had three miraculous escapes from death (which would have annihilated any other competent character in either series), he is _literally_ immortal and hands-down thee very best MS pilot (and, by extension, thee very best character) _ever_ in the entire _Gundam_ franchise.
The three miracles are as follows:
*1* - the Aegis Gundam self-destructing at point-blank range while he was inside the breached/exposed cockpit of the Strike Gundam.
The TV series never explains or shows how Kira miraculosly was transported to a PLANT, but it is described in the MSV _SEED Astray_ that the Junk Guild group just-so-happened to be in the area at the time and was covertly watching the fight, and took Kira to the PLANT. (Of course, if you don't read the MSV, then you don't know this!)
*2* - _[I am soooo blanking on the second miracle right now, I'm sorry!]_
*3* - the explosion of the Freedom Gundam's nuclear reactor from the Impulse Gundam impaling it with its Anti-Ship Sword.
NOTE: For _SEED Destiny Remastered, new animation was added_ which shows Kira hit the Neutron Jammer Canceller activation button a split second before the reactor was hit; thus preventing a nuclear explosion due to the mechanics of how NJCs work. However, this is highly contested by fans because a massive explosion still occurs, but the show's staff claim they added this moment because such an explosion is 'not nuclear' and thus explains how Kira survived the destruction of the Freedom Gundam _even while he was still seated inside of it._

Surprising that the ASW-G-08 Gundam Barbatos was #9 on the list, but very few scenes of it's final stage as Barbatos Lupus Rex: "the Demon King of Wolves" along with not showcasing more of Mikas' utter brutality beyond killing Crank Zent, a good scene to have used would be one of the following:

GP-02 should have been on the list outright. Before the new OVA projectes in the UC timeline that thing was the gold standard of design for any Gundam not named the RX-78
If this were uploaded in 2019, Jona Basta's Narrative Gundam (especially C Packs) from Mobile Suit Gundam Narrative would be the 4th Honorable Mention after Gundam Alex, and the intro of this video would say that this Redux was also to celebrate the 40th anniversary.

Someone at mojo has a vendetta against Build fighters. Not one yet. An I know that it is a show about toys, but it doesn't change the fact that some of those Gundams look, fight, and perform amazingly. An really, aren't all Gundam shows just toy commercials in the end? Lightning Zeta Gundam from try, and Star build strike would have made a good addition to the list.
Edit: I rewatched the video I was thinking of and it was the top 10 Gundam pilots that said no Build fighters. Still though, this list needs a mech from build fighters.

Exia has nothing against the 00 Raiser which can teleport and exert massive amounts of power. The Full Armor Gundam of Thunderbolt should also be on this list. At least you added the Nu Gundam.
This is not a "most-powerful blue-colored Gundam ever" list, but rather a[nother] "most popular blue-colored Gundam according to Watch Mojo" list.
_But to be fair,_ they at least fixed their mistakes from the previous _Gundam_ listing, _and_ show clear signs of actual _research_ this time. Debate the order on this list all you like, but give credit where credit is due, please.
Its their favorites, not the most powerful. I LOVE that they put the Original Gundam at number one and the RX-78 deserves it. Strike Freedom for me should've been 3 with the Wing Zero at 2. Sorry but the angel wing Gundam remains the most iconic gundam mobile suit in the series. And they also got rid of that dreadful Star Build Gundam. I liked Build Fighters but their mobile suit gunpla need a list of their own.

Epyon may have had _a degree of_ bad-ass, but the fact it had zero ranged-combat weapons cuts it right out as a contender, in my opinion. Considering Shenlong/Altron/Nataku can best it in every way just by itself (not to mention the other CQC Sandrock), it's difficult to say that the too-OP-must-nerf EPYON System compensates for this.

Gotta agree with the person above. Epyon is designed for close combat superiority and somehow got defeated by wing zero which is designed for range battle in a melee fight.

Why do you exist? Epyon was great, and technically, it was more powerful than the Wing Zero as it was faster *AND* more heavily armoured, but Epyon was DESIGNED to cap the Wing Zero's power, and therefore, (along with the sense of honour or both the primary pilot (Millardo Peacecraft) and is builder/Designer (Treize Kushranada) it has no ranged armament (except arguably head vulcans after joining White Fang, but that's an argument all on it's own.) Also, anyone else remember when Epyon sliced through an entire colony with it's Variable-Output Beam Saber connected to the Suit's main power supply? Now, obviously you're allowed to have opinions, and if you don't like Epyon, well, I'm sorry for you. But that Epyon is less powerful, that it's weak, that is stating a fact, and an untrue one at that, next time, so your research before you comment next time, at least most of this can almost definitely be found on the Gundam Wiki on Epyon's page.
I personally like these Gundams for their special reasons:
1. The RX-78 (& RX-78-2) for being the icon of Gundam in its entirety
2. The Barbatos for its tenacity and unrivaled melee prowess (plus its upgrades)
3. The ZZ (& Zeta) for their packs (plus for being one of the first transforming Gundam I know of)
4. The Freedom (& Strike Freedom) for its high power and plethora of cannons (plus for getting more OP upgrades, even in the upcoming Freedom film) and
5. The Aerial for being the first all-new Gundam in the 2020s.
Watchmojo, it'd be nice if you could create a top 20 Mobile Suit Gundams list given how far the series has come up to 2024 (Happy New Year to all!).

People seem to forget that the Turn A's moonlight butterfly can literally end civilization. Well this video was... better than the other one... but Strike Freedom sucks, aesthetically. At least the RX-78-2 is getting the respect it deserves here, and Nu and Zeta made the list. At least they used correct clips for every suit. Remember last time when they thought Wing Gundam was Wing Zero? There is still a lot of improvement to be made.

It's not about functionality, but popularity, appearance and iconic status, so the Turn A is of course going to be low based on that criteria

What Jetfire said could actually true since it is still a theory. But yes it did actually ended a lot of civilization from other gundam series like Wing, X, G and UC if you've seen the dark history. The only theory about this is whether the entire gundam franchise is happening in a single universe or rather on a multiple universes. But we cannot change the fact that the Turn A did destroyed those civilizations mentioned earlier.
