Honestly their biggest problem is that their budget was through the roof but their practicality and spending habits were absolutely horrible and they bled through resources faster than Zeon during the One Year War ever did. The Hazel series is the prime example to me of both why this strategy worked really well and why it ultimately killed their finances. Yeah it allowed them to make Zany and sometimes lightning in the bottle successful test beds in some cases, but in others they were gigantic pits of money that ultimately went nowhere. I think if the Gryps War went for longer than it did they definitely would've gone Bankrupt or severely weakened to the point where they might as well have been non competitors.
Rolling out new units regularly is a necessary part of innovation and adaptability. All factions and all armies do it. I am not convinced it is evidence of mismanagement or any kind of inexperience whatsoever. Actually, I'm going to go one better, I am going to say this is way more evidence showing that the Titans had a well-oiled and experienced fighting force able to apply force projection across the Earth Sphere, and NOT that it was a floundering bunch of pathetic flunkies. One way we know the Titans had a streamlined and efficient MS program that was second to none is that we have the advantage of peering into the famous and well-documented Titan Test Team operation of research, development, and production of cutting edge tech, mobile weapons, new MS, AND their ace in the hole gamechanger: a standardized/universal system implementing modular compatibility across ALL CURRENT MS MODELS/ and across ALL CURRENT support ships/vehicles, plus ALL relevant equipment and weapons. The Titans were rightly feared from Jupiter to Earth and those who balked at them and didn't give them their due respect or viewed the Titans as a joke found out REAL quick! and it was usually the hard way...F around Find out!
The Hazel really is the progenitor of 90% of units from the 0084 all the way to the Laplace incident. Also, love that one of my favorite grunt units got dedicated video.
@@valentetellezperez6538 From the F-90 line and onward it really is the first big major first assemble with no ties to any of the Zeon vs Federation era of the U.C timeline. The F-90 itself was a big leap forward with regards to increase performance, while making the unit smaller and easier to produce. This would come ahead with the F-91 and the various units that would follow.
MK II: "Barzam might look different but is a mass production of me." Bright: "Barzam went rouge with the Titans and then Zeon Remnants whom murdered many." MK II: "Barzam is adopted."
I love all the Barzams. It’s just so unique it’s doing it’s best, and never got to replace the clunker that is the Hizack. Visually I feel it fits the titans well while not just being a Zeon retread in aesthetic. However the Refined Barzam is my favorite for all the reasons stated here. It’s just cool.
Titans were still falling back on the Hizack that late into the war gives me the impression the Marasai never really took off. That unit's blandness and unremarkability just continues to astound me.
The Titans didn't want to rely AE who was also funding the AEUG and disliked that the Titans wanted to be more self reliant with their ms rather than buy what ever AE was cooking up.
I genuinely love how good the Barzam looks in the MSVs. The OG? Not so much 😅 I hope they release at least the Refined Barzam as a kit. Seems pretty simple to pull off.
the refined barzam (ill always call it the custom since im a gbo fan) is honestly a really solid design and def would of been the true mass production mk2 and a very very strong mass production unit its one of those suits that had great specs solid versatile design able to be adapted and customized and piloted by aces and non aces and sadly it never got to reach the full peak/ potential and deployment rate it was worthy of
I never watched anything the barzam was in. I’m mostly just watching this video because I like your videos. I say this to establish that I do not know the barzam well. The moment you clarified that the refueling port is in the corner of the barzam’s crotch plate was complete whiplash for me. I thought it was a perspective view of a recessed part (ie, like a thruster or mega particle cannon) for the ENTIRE VIDEO until you said those few words. My perspective on the barzam entirely shifted, and undoubtedly not for the better. How dare you, corner-mounted refueling port.
The refined Barzam is my favorite mass produced suit in the uc Gundam universe. Why we never got a official kit for the refined is beyond me. Now I know how the GM sniper 2 fans felt before the official kit came out. Great episode. ✌️ Refined Barzam for the win!
Considering the Titans likely had better funding and more manageable logistics than Zeon due to being a simple military force rather than a secessionist nation really makes the fact they fell to the same failings as Zeon even more embarrassing...
The Titans made the same mistake Zeon made during the One Year War. Focusing too much on experimental mobile suits, and by the time they found a solid model to mass produce it was far too late.
You know, A development History of Barbatos for both seasons would be a good look into IBO tech in general. That's for my look in Alternate universes. As for UC, The Jesta's/Jegans would be nice
The Barzam is in such a weird spot. It's introduced too late to really have that much of a meaningful role - in-universe and out - and I wouldn't say aesthetically its base design is amazing in itself. At the same time it clearly had a great deal of potential that could be explored by mecha artisans.. and boy did they. I will say though, the Refined Barzam is personally one of my favourite MS designs, It's the Gundam Mk-II, but Zeon-y!
I was perplexed at how Barzam was supposed to have Mk. II inner frames. Like... how!? The thighs were much bigger, the arms were much longer, the torso was much wider, etc. It didn't seem to match the lore. Thankfully, ROZ gave some stuffs about the Barzam development project.
Also are u ever gonna do a video on re zeon kakarot? Cause I have seen not much talk about it be it from lack of material or untranslated stuff so I was asking if u ever gonna do a video on it
Funny. Just got the AoZ ReZeon Barzam kit a few months ago, when I got my hobby shop to preorder the Aqua Hambrabi II kit once it was announced. I'll likely be putting it together in the next month or two when the latter arrives. It's neat to see all the variants and derivatives in one video, as well. A lot of weird variants I never knew existed. Bandai-Namco, when are we getting kits of the BR-GM and Barzam II? :P
But yeah, awesome video! This really makes me wish for all these sides stories to be animated soooo much. Are these books and Manga available outside of Japan without paying astronomical import fees?
That AI generated meme of the Thousand Sons legion making wacky vocal components for their spells is absolutely perfect timing for that Commander Barzam. "D1K lazers" aside, that Barrzam 2, Aqua Barzam, and the Commander, all look really cool.
You know, I always imagined the GM III as the true mass production version of the Barzam considering the backpack similarities but that might just be me trying to relate my favorite GM with one of my favorite Gundams lmao
I’d like to see a development history on the GM III I feel that it’s the one generation of GM that’s heavily overlooked due to mostly being in ZZ, but I love it because it’s the Federation going back to basics and also making a Mass Production Gundam Mk II, which really shows in the backpack and its compatibility with the G Defenser Infact, I just like Federation grunts in general as they’re mostly “the previous machine, but better” which creates practical, effective, and cost efficient units as opposed to Zeon and the Titans who constantly blow their budgets on souped up prototypes that simply aren’t practical for most pilots I think that’s why I like the Geara Doga too, using the old power piping tech to keep costs down while making sure they stay within the limbs so they don’t make for easy targets and basically just using tried and true tech unlike the previous Neo Zeon machines
The main problem with the GM III is simply that it was essentially a full overhaul to the GM that came way too late to really do much. It was the GM Custom to the GM II and laid the groundwork to the Stark Jegan in a lot of ways but by the time it would've really seen some action the ensuing Arms Race that happened during and after the end of ZZ rendered it obsolete fairly quickly. It didn't help that the Jegan entered preliminary testing through Londo Bell way quicker than expected and that the Jegan dwarfed it in not just ease of use but in pure cost effectiveness. The GM III got a lot of use but it ultimately hit the same wall that the Jegan itself would hit years later before being replaced by the Heavygun. When does cost effectiveness and a stubborn want to fit with the same philosophy as an Ace Unit of the time become a hindrance for it's overall appeal as a Unit and usability against newer threats? This question is ultimately answered by the GM III and the entirety of the Later Jegan line and I think we all see how that worked out against the Crossbone Vanguard.
Love the look of the Barzan Owsle, that suit reminded me very much of the Talgeese hopefully it faught as well as that beast of a suit. Also I wouldn't mind getting a development history for the Gouf, Dom, or even the multiple amphibious units Zeon made like the Gogg, Z'gock, Acguy, and Zok.
this has always bothered me about the barzam. while it may have initially been intended as a mass production version of the MK-2, the final product has literally nothing in common with it, the inner frame is entirely different, the weapons, armor, thrusters, control system, sensors and core concept are all completely different. there is nothing of the MK-2 in the barzam. full stop. the existence of the refined barzam only proves my point that bandai had to go out of their way to introduce a more MK-2-esque version of this mobile suit because of how weird it would be otherwise
I still want that 8 bit version of Believe. I can't find it anywhere. But again, great history on MS I was not aware of. I want a refined as a kit now for my grunt collection.

Is there a reason tr-s is not included? Barzam is basically a simplified mp tr-s according to aoz
When [What if Amuro Got the Alex Part 7]? I think it is one of the best 'what if' scenarios on YT and really hope, that we will get continuation soon.
How about no.
Raid can go and die in a ditch somewhere.
pls do woundwort video
awesome video btw
Say Kakarot how’d you feel about doing development history videos on non-MSG Mecha?
The Titans' penchant to just keep rolling out new models over and over is a testament to how poorly managed the organization actually was
For the Anti-Zeon group, they really seem to have have taken most of Zeon's playbook.
Made worse by how long it took for them to actually start doing that!
Honestly their biggest problem is that their budget was through the roof but their practicality and spending habits were absolutely horrible and they bled through resources faster than Zeon during the One Year War ever did. How many different designs did Zeon roll out during the ONE YEAR war?
The Barzam's debut when it charges at Kamille's Zeta Gundam was an all-time badass moment for the unit.
The Barzam is the child of a blunt rotation between Ex-Zeon and Titans engineers
The Hazel really is the progenitor of 90% of units from the 0084 all the way to the Laplace incident. Also, love that one of my favorite grunt units got dedicated video.
"Wait, it's all just Hazel?"
"Always has been." 🔫
At this point, I wouldn't even be surprised if the Hazels inspired the stuff from F91, Victory, G Saviour and even Gaia Gear

Same. I literally just rewatched it this week.

Blue Destiny: "Is there any line you won't cross?"
Mk II: "I don't hurt children"

At least they have the AoZ version. That's still one(two techically) of my favorite grunt kits.
OK I WAS FLOORED WHEN I SAW THE MKII NEXT TO THE BARZAM WITH THE TEXT "You're still adopted"
Been waiting for you to cover this for so long! Excellent work as always!
Simply put, it's Zeta's Gelgog, cool video as always.
Finally one of my favorite MS gets a development video. I do like Barzam especially it's refined variant.
I would love for Bandai to give us the Refined Barzam,Bar-GM type C2 and the Musica
That Mega Particle cannon looks like a prime opportunity for some Teabagging.
I love your development history vids! Do you think you can do one on Leo's and their variants?

Once the Barzam is mass-produced, the Federation will...uh, have to acknowledge it for a while!
mann the BR-GM looks so badass. I wish we'd get that as a model kit
I'd LOVE to see a dev history on the union flag custom
I just love love the Feddie colored Barzam

i been a long time since you do MS Development History
More Development of Advance of Zeta Plz I like it
Please do the Jegan next
LETS GO BARZAM GANG!!!!
this has always bothered me about the barzam. while it may have initially been intended as a mass production version of the MK-2, the final product has literally nothing in common with it, the inner frame is entirely different, the weapons, armor, thrusters, control system, sensors and core concept are all completely different. there is nothing of the MK-2 in the barzam. full stop. the existence of the refined barzam only proves my point that bandai had to go out of their way to introduce a more MK-2-esque version of this mobile suit because of how weird it would be otherwise
Yeah, they had to explain how dafvq Barzam became so different from Gundam Mk II decades passed the Gundam Zeta's initial airing 😂🤣
So if the Gundam Mark-2 were produced in greater numbers; was it meant to serve as an elite special unit for pilots/ squad leader MS?
RMS 156 Griffon next please.
I still want that 8 bit version of Believe. I can't find it anywhere. But again, great history on MS I was not aware of. I want a refined as a kit now for my grunt collection.
look at Studio Megaane
Which mobile suit was better? The Refined Barzam or the GM III? Both used the Mk-II backpack
Nope, the Crotch Cannon is now officially renamed The Nut Buster! Seriously, I can't unsee it now!🤣
Remember the time where Barzam was used by a Original Character that isn't from Gundam ?
BARZAM DEVELOPMENT VIDEO?!?! LET'S FUCKIN' GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
Are you still planning on covering the gelgoog.
Are you considering doing a video on code fairy 🧚♂️ video about the oyw
One odd question thats been wracking my brain is did the Barzam and Bawoo related in some way? Both had the Blade antenna and mono eye but aside from those aesthetics is it just coincidence then that they look similar?
Mind if I ask when is the next part of the What if Armaro got the Alex?
I have read that the Barzam has successfully lower the cost to just as the GMII but I forget where did I read that
The thumbnail is literally you vs the guy she tells you not to worry about.
So this is what you meant
This might not be the style you're going for, but could you do a video on how overdesigned some of the suits from these newer zeta-prequel shows are compared to how suits look in Zeta?
Why does I feel re zeon become the donor of titans mobile suit.
really want a BR-GM hg kit tbh
man look at all the hizack variation
you are adopted 6:47
you are still adopted 24:23
🤣🤣🤣
huh. i didn't really like the standard barzam design. but seeing the model kit, it kinda looks pretty cool actually. i might have to consider getting one
GRRRRAHHHHHHHHH BARZAM SWEEP 💯💯💯💯🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Waiting for that Aqua Woundwort add-on, then IT'S ON!
welp, the video is barely a week old and we've already gotten a new barzam since then
Do the Domd next please!
Where do you source the images for these videos btw? I'd love to have some of the images of these Barzam's I've not heard of before but idk where to find a lot of them after a while.
You just need to do a video covering advance of zeta as a whole.
i am a simple man. i see Barzam i like
Ayyyy more Titan suits LETS GOOO
Can go over the History of the Bawo
BarGM looks so cool i wish it gets a kit man
Im actually building mobile suits in space engineers. I mass about half the weight of the FA Refined barzam.
Trying to understand how the Primrose fits into the Woundwort hurts my brain, and now there's another one?
My favorite grunt suit :D
Because it ALWAYS comes back to the Hazel.
Wake up guys more development history
I wouldn't be surprised if the aqua barzam's shoulder fins were somewhat based off of an evangelion's shoulder fins
the rgm-87c BR-GM looks amazing
too bad it never appeared in the unicorn anime like the byrlant custom
I've always thought the GM III was the mass produced MK II
