One thing that might be worth noting for people is that the prinarchs that survived the heresy essentially all went absent for 10,000 years shortly after.. Guillaman mortally wounded and placed in stasis. Vulcan Mia. Russ chasing heretics into the eye of terror etc etc. their absence is partly why the imperium has decayed so much. Upon his recent resurrection Guilliman was disgusted by the state of what ot has become, but feels he can't tear it apart as the faith his father hates so much abd the fought so hard against is the only thing holding it all together. So for the events of sm1 Roubute is still essentially a corpse held on the edge of death. He becomes active again in-between space marine 1 and 2

Introduction Video for 40K
1 Hour Long
That checks out
Oh Byf and 40K is a treat my ears weren’t prepared for
Please please please don't stop the 40k lore!
Thank you so much for making this video. I've always looked at 40k from afar and decided to jump into Space Marine 2 as my initiation. This is such a great story and this makes me excited to keep playing. Knowing me, I'll probably start reading the books soon...
Byf you've opened a can of worms I don't think anyone can close by making this video
He becomes active again in-between space marine 1 and 2
Reject the Traveler, embrace your duty to The Emperor ✊️
Just off what I’ve heard, to do a ‘primer’ of overall warhammer 40k lore is like dipping your toe in an ocean. I have a feeling byf is gonna have a lot of fun with this.
Well boys, he has finaly started the plunge
I’ve watched most of your Destiny Videos , and now I look forward to hearing you talk about my other favourite sci fi setting. I will probably already know all the stuff you will mention but that ain’t gonna stop me from enjoying you getting into another Lore Heavy series 🤟🏻🤟🏻
Bungie executives fumbled so bad, bfy now doin 40K
It’s honestly kind of sad what Pete Parsons has allowed to happen to Destiny. Creator after creator jumping ship to WOW and other gsmes
I've always wanted to dip my toe into the wonders of war hammer 40K lore, but had no idea where to start. This is such an incredibly convenient, starting point all with a complete game to dive into if my interest peaks. Thank you Byf for doing this! I plan on watching this video a few times for the patterns to set in. I'm so freaking excited!
The billions of dead normal human soldiers aren't even remembered?!?!!??!?!?! What a future.
As a massive space wolfs fan is so great to see byf covering 40k have t played the tabletop game in years but god it was fun and the lore omg is massive
Warhammer is such a big universe. I have two guys I talk to on Xbox, that talk about it so much. And I’m somewhat learning. So lots of lore incoming.
I can’t explain the excitement I got when I saw your name on warhammer thumbnail. Please do more 40K content. Your channels story telling is top tier. I’d love to hear you talk about this universe and its lore more in depth.
As a fan of 40 k and a fan of byf partly because of how you do your content partly because your voice is soothing and I am probably gonna sleep to this tonight
YESSSS. I stopped playing D2 a while back but missed your voice. Excited for this vid!
I quit destiny a few years ago, but I've missed your videos and hope to see you do more Warhammer 40k lore ty.
This was absolutely fantastic. The chain sword line was literally my favorite.
Awesome job, Byf! My husband got me into 40K. He's a big fan of the series! I will have to share your video with him. You did a great job of introducing the world of 40K and I look forward to...hopefully...future videos from you of the series.
Yesssssss!!!!!! Holy crap I never would have dreamed the day Byf did a Warhammer 40k lore video!
I literally didnt know a single thing about 40k other than the name, and that there is a LOT of lore. Absolutely perfect video.
I'm so happy Byf is doing 40k/Space Marine 2.
I finished the campaign, and oh boy, there's SO much to delve into!
I am so incredibly happy. I got chills when you said the grimdark bit.
My brother, I cannot wait to watch you embrace the world of 40k.
BYF!!! Amazing!!! I recently got into Warhammer 6 months ago, and I am so stupidly happy to know my favorite lore lover is branching over to this fandom with me!!! Immediately sent this to everyone I know who loves your content but were on the edge about getting into Warhammer
29:47 - 30:00 _I have _*_never_*_ had the threat of the Tyranids illustrated to me with such a statement as the one you used in this instance._
*_Well done Byf!_*
Please keep pushing in this direction, it’s a great change of pace and the idea of 40k lore videos with Dynasty level production value sounds absolutely amazing
I'm honestly thankful you begin to cover the lore and events here too, looking forward for more like those!
Awesome to here Leutin getting a call out and I can see why this is such an accurate and excellent video
Hell yes! I'm so happy right now! Byf is a master of lore and I'm so thrilled he's covering Warhammer 40K now! One of my favorite voices now comes to 40k to bring us lore. This is great!
You tackled a beast of lore in this one brother. I’ve always been super intimidated by even starting.
this is a great great news seeing Byf doing Warhammer 40k videos is heart warming.
Man I was really wanting the “Greetings Astartes, MyNameIsByf here.”
There's already a big lore community but I'm glad you're going to be joining it Byf. You'll have a much better collection of subject matter here
You have been my favourite lore youtuber to watch for years and now you are making the journey into one of my favourite franchises, today is a good day.
I didn't know how much that I needed to hear Byf say, "In the Grim Darkness of the far future, there is only War." Now I have and that is how I will always read it in his voice for the rest of time. Thank you good sir.
Seeing Byf join the Warhammer 40k crowd is the best good surprise of the year! Welcome to the party.
been enjoying building my army of necrons in real life, now im gonna do the marines next
YES! Byf, this is exactly the kind of universe that you can excel in. There is so much deep and interesting lore that spans literal millennia, and you can dig really deep into the past and theoretical future of this universe. Don't abandon Destiny, but definitely expand to this universe if you're interested! I'm all in.
Ive always wanted to explore 40k universe. Byf and his lore content seems perfect for this universe and im ALL FOR IT
Byf could probably even make my prep cook routine sound epic. What a voice
Grabbing popcorn and waiting on @Luetin09 to see Byf on his turf. 2 Lore daddies with amazing voices. The 40k world cant handle it.
Three minutes in and I'm loving the inculsion of the Dawn of War soundtrack! Brilliant stuff!
Man. I'm so glad Byf covered this. I just bought the game over thr weekend and I was super confused as to why Titus had to redeem himself after that fired mission. I thought I had missed a viral plot point while reading tutorials.
First time player of a Warhammer 40k game with Space Marine 2 or anything related with this universe, gotta say the game has been so cool and the names and stuff so attractive that came looking for info and found your vid. Thank you man even tho the trip is just starting you made it very interesting with your narration.
Thank you SO MUCH for this. Space Marine 2 is my introduction to the Warhammer universe. So this is GREAT lore info.
time to watch byf again. it's been a minute.
I was just thinking how you would be perfect for 40k. It’s such a crazy universe and your quality of lore coverage would bring it to life.
BYF on 40k lore??? Let’s freaking gooooo!!!!!!
