My favourite version.... reminds me of my childhood listening to this on LP.
I really love this version 💕
Last time I was this early Judas was still alive
Thankyou i have searched for years for this version.
Hearing the organ on this is lovely
Songs Lacking:
- This Jesus Must Die
- Poor Jerusalem
- The Temple
- The Last Supper
- Pilate and Christ
- Trial Before Pilate (Aww, come on! That's best scene in JCS!)
- Crucifixion
- John 19:41
And they fucking cut the best parts in Gethsemane. That's criminal, man! Lol
Mom, I want Jesus Christ Superstar
Mom: We have JCS at home
JCS at home👆
haha really good song XD thx for uploading :D
This is the cuttest Madgalene I've seen
Sorry, ALL of the important male characters were played by only 2 guys?
Yeah a lot of "knock-off" recordings from this era did that. Presumably to cut down on costs. They were only in it to make a quick buck after all.
@@JCSZone Wow. Not even here in Brazil we did that! (And believe me, that is something we here would expect from ourselves. We really sucked for a long period of times in a whole number of things, and we still do now tbh, lol). Btw, do you know where that "Could We Start Again, Please" song came from? Is it a Broadway original? And why they don't add the song "Then We Are Decided" from the movie in another versions of the play? I think it's a cool song, actually and it introduces the bad guys earlier. If you know that, I would appreciate greatly if you'd tell me.
@@gabriels.carvalho4852 It has different copyright issues I think but a few examples on here include it. I think if you look up the John Norbart production of the Italian Croce del Sud they both include it.
As for "Could We Start Again, Please?" it was indeed created for Broadway and became part of the show after.
@@JavertRA Thank you very much for the very useful information, man. About the official recordings, which is you favorite one? And which live version?
@@gabriels.carvalho4852 @Gabriel Silva Hmm, tricky. I like the original album, the 1994 London cast with Steve Balsamo and the UK radio with Roger Daltrey. I'm not really a fan of any of the live versions as a whole. But someone on here synched the original album audio to the 1973 film so I like to watch that.
This sounds a lot like the Ivan Jullien big band french version
What is this overture? Did Lloyd Webber write this or authorize this? Why didn’t they just use the regular one?
That's a good question and we honestly have no idea. Apparently a lot of these early knock-off recordings got away with many of these, let's call them "creative differences".
what does "music for pleasure" mean?
That's the name of the record label this recording was released under. It was a popular budget label in the 1970's.
@@JCSZone also was Gethsemane labeled I only want to say?
Yes, officially the full name of the song is 'Gethsemane (I Only Want to Say)'. For some odd reason they decided to ommit Gethsemane from the title.
@@JCSZone mpf put out a version with Dalí's famous painting on the sleeve which seems different from this one?
That's certainly possible, these types of recordings have been released many times under different labels and with alternate artwork.
Superstar sounds like someone who had never heard it before. Phrasing is odd, Bud ah? Not Buddha? Weird, just weird.
This seems pretty accurate @Timothy Lowe
