What makes you decide to release remasters? Is it when you need a break from having to create new songs every time and are starting to feel burned out? Is it when you're listening to your old music and something catches your ear and you can't shake it? Or do you have a list of ones you want to update that you're working your way through over time? And how do you choose which songs to do? So many of your original versions sound so perfect to me already, but I'm sure an exceptional musician like yourself spots all sorts of things in tracks after they release that you'd love to tweak.
@@werewolfjedi38 It could be anything.... a vocal being too quiet in a section, a snare drum having too much low-mid thump, a guitar having too much fizz, a kick drum not having enough clarity in its midrange etc etc etc...
I'm surprised Gav's never done a song on Gael, now that I think about it. It's got such a perfect premise too, Ringed City being the masterpiece that it is.

One of my all times faves. The subtle transition from talking about the dangers if the fire should dim, to it becoming a question on if we should let the fire dim... So great
This has always been one of my favorite parts of this song and I'm glad I'm not the only one hearing it like that. "Should the fires fade? Should the cinders dim?" It starts out like the singer's terrified of the very concept, but as it repeats it starts to sound like a genuine question.
@tyrongkojy true, but then you have to consider DS3's End of Fire. You aren't letting it fade slowly, but rather snuffing out the dying embers all at once.
@@tyrongkojy We see what happens if we allow it to continue, its the rotting of the world. It's a world that struggles & misery eventually comes, the age of dark is an age of humanity. Yes, indeed. It is called Lothric, where the transitory lands of the Lords of Cinder converge. In venturing north, the pilgrims discover the truth of the old words: "The fire fades and the lords go without thrones."
We this is a nice surprise this morning! This is the earliest I have watched a new Miracle of Sound song, only 41 minutes after it came out. I am glad that Miracle of Sound is still doing well after being around for over 12 years. I remember the first few songs I listened to back in 2013 were: Gordon Freeman Saved my Life, No One is better than Commander Shepard and original version of Take Earth 🌎 Back. 😊
Miracle of Sound is still around, doing well, and with the upcoming tour I'd argue better than ever. I'm wildly hyped to see what venues he's going to other than the one announced. And honestly, if it comes down to that's the only venue he's performing at, I might just have to snag a flight up to Ireland to take a little vacation and a concert.
The way lighting changes in the final scene to sync up with the piano strokes is an amazing touch. Song is still fantastic after all these years and the addition of footage from DS1 and 2 makes the video even better for me (the atmosphere of that DS2 announcement trailer will forever be top tier)
I discovered Miracle of Sound late… during lockdown. “Fires Fade” was one of the first songs that sent me down the rabbit hole of VGM (I’m not a gamer) and I haven’t popped up for air yet.
Who else wants a Mega-collab of those? I personally would add Charismatic Voice, but I understand that it would be difficult to properly contain the grace of their voices in the one song.
I'm so happy for the remaster, this is one of my favourite songs! I've listened the original many many times, but it's been some time. Now I have a reason to listen more!
I found this song years ago, I appreciated it while the video made me curious about dark souls 3, at the time I was gifted a PS4 so I decided to buy the game and give it a try. I ended up playing the whole trilogy and all the other Fromsoftware games too, dark souls had a huge impact on me and my taste about fiction in general... So thank you for creating this song ❤

Fantastic remaster of a fantastic original song! To paraphrase a comment I made on the original, I absolutely love the repeated lyric of "Should the fires fade, should the cinders dim". It can be read as either a warning (Should the fires fade, the world is doomed) or as a genuine question (Should the fires fade?). Its super clever, as these two readings apply to each side of DS3's main conflict/question of if the Age of Fire should be prolonged once again (Side note, but I still have absolutely no clue what some people were thinking when they said this song "didn't fit the tone of Dark Souls". It's like the only thing they took away from the series was that things are bad, whilst completely ignoring how each of the games follow a random, unremarkable person who endures defeat after defeat, yet never gives up and eventually changes the fate of the entire world)
This has been one of my favorite songs by you for so long, I just happened to look it up only for this to show! I am in love with how it turned out, I never knew I needed a remaster of it until now
By the gods Gavin your ability to capture the vibe of any game or movie and still put your unique twist on it with an original song is always stunning to me!
