Truth be told I adore Metallica and have seen them a couple dozen times. This song is a masterpiece! For a moment just listen to the music. Then listen to the full package. It moves me to this day and will again tomorrow. As a unashamed long time fan I can think of a long list of their songs that move me. It's powerful on a dozen levels. Words to live by... Everyday brings us something new. I will never forget the first time I heard it. I was blown away!!
"They give you a dose of adrenaline, and then they make you wanna cry... a beautiful musical manifesto of a mood swing." - Sounds about right, well said!
Look up Howard Stern's UA-cam channel and his interview with the guys. He takes a video call from Elton John, who basically moves James to tears when he tells them this song is one of the most beautiful songs he's ever heard. So powerful when you know that James had doubts about even showing this to guys, let alone getting it on the album.
Anyone who knew just basic guitar playing had to learn this track back in '92 when it came out I was a beginner / bonfire playing kind of guitarist back then, and learned basic finger picking because of this song :)
Love this song. Always have done, had the album on cassette when it came out. My wife and I had Apocalyptica's cello cover played as our wedding entrance music with this version played as everyone left afterwards.
I was a K-Pop fan for 9 years, before I left last year July (the fandom bullied me out of the fandom). Nothing Else Matters is the first song of Metallica I was ever exposed to and it still holds a special place in my heart. I always believed that metal bands did grunting (''screaming''), which is what turned me off in the first place when it comes to metal. But this made me give metal a chance.
Well hi welcome to the metal side. IF you want some more bands that don't scream and grunt/growl then check out Iron maiden, Judas Priest, Black sabbath, Megadeth. Im sure you've mostly likely heard of the bands and know at least a few songs by them. Also the band Ghost (Cirice or Dance Macabre some good started songs), the most Pop like out of all the metal bands, but their still one of my favorites. If you can get past the "Satanic" imagery which is like some comedy horror Scooby Doo movie skit then your fine.
Back on your channel. God, I forgot how beatiful you are. Nice reaction. *Edit: I usually watch the video and pay attention on the reactor when they say something. In this video i was 100% of the time watching you.
EMINEM has two new songs out The King & I with Ceelo Green and From The D 2 The LBC with Snoop Dogg and he has officially announced a new greatest hits album that will include a handful of new songs just like all of his greatest hits albums do.
It wasn't grunge that killed Metal in the 90's, it was this song. After this song got played on every radio station in the country, every other thrash band started pumping out "power-ballads."
Even if you don't love Metallica (and I do) I completely agree with you. Seen them live on far to many occasions and they bring it every time. The volume of works alone allows anyone to find several they love. 🤘🤘🤘
I do think react channels work best when they feature new undiscovered bands instead of the obvious choices. But this is a fantastic song one of my favorite
Best Metallica song ever, this one. I think it’s older than you though. lol Bang up to date the K-Pop fan could do worse than looking at some J-Rock - for an upbeat but gentle song from Nemophila try “Life”. You’ll see how it applies to this and how far on the world has come… or not. Also, as a K-Pop Dan, have you heard of Rolling Quartz? Korea’s answer to the Japanese girl’s rock / metal scene, they’re really rather good.
I thought you'd done this one already then I realised that was Unforgiven, haha my senile old brain can't even tell Metallica songs apart now. I do like this and to be honest the whole album is excellent, although they have been going downhill since then.
@@GiddyKitty Off The Black Album it's the track Sad But True. Favourite of all though then probably Creeping Death or Fade To Black, both off Ride The Lightning, which, for me is their greatest album. If you haven't heard either then maybe they van be for a future video?.
I just found your channel. This is out of left field but you should check out the Lamia by genesis. I don't know why I'm suggesting this but it came to me for some reason
Pausing is ok, but please back up the song like 5 seconds if you do that. It restores the flow of the song when you back it up just a bit. Like your first pause here you pause juuuust as the guitar was about to kick in. That transition and the drop/kick just loses its effect when there's an interruption of commentary the instant before it happens. Just hit the left arrow key on your keyboard and it'll back the song up exactly 5 seconds.
love the reaction/feedback on this video....Metallica is a multi-dimensional band that has a gift for mixing their lyrical writing with their intentional energy driven instrument playing....to me, this is a ballad for anyone's playlist...For Whom The Bell Tolls, One, Master of Puppets, Creeping Death, and Unforgiven are some of my favorites...but seriously, the list is too long to keep typing...
'Nothing else matters' was a love song written by Metallica frontman/ guitarist James Hetfield to his then-gf (they broke up eventually)... trying to have a relationship while on tour w/ Metallica. (The late) Michael Kamen arranged orchestral strings that u can hear in the background... Kamen would compose & direct Metallica's 'S&M' concerts when they were accompanied by a full orchestra. If u think the band in the music video look p...ed off... they were. The recording of this 1991 album was difficult... they were arguing and fighting over the direction of the album, and the tension & turmoil in the studio would end up getting 3 members of Metallica divorced at the end of recording. James Hetfield (instead of Kirk Hammett) did the guitar solo here cos the song was personal to him... I don't really like the song... too poppy & sappy... ☹
I'd do the studio version of Fade to Black next! It's on the softer side of their discography, like this one.
Hands down my favourite song of theirs, found it at a time I really needed it.
DEFINITELY a contender of mine as well😍
this is one of the best powerbalads ever written full stop
AGREED.

Id also add the performance thay did of "Nothing else matters" together with Miley Cirus was absolutely stunning
A classic song by a classic band. There are so many other songs you can do from Metallica. Thanks for the reaction Rana!

Ahhh that's pretty cool actually 😊 kind of a flex too to know how to play this song 🙊
Yeah this song was THE source material for "my first arppegio", 1990s edition
" a beautiful musical manifesto of a mood swing" ...i liked that
Thank you🥰

Was it the one where someone edited Johnny's voice and he sang "human fecal matter" ?
HAHAHA YESSS😂 I posted a little part of it in part 2

Hi Rana, I,m surprised that you reacted to this song. It's been two years perhaps since I requested this song. Wow.
Come to think of it, i`ve never met a single person in my life who doesn´t like at least one Metallica song and there´s reason for that.
GOOD POINT!!

Reminds of satirway to heaven. Dunno why. But it seems to have a lulaby quality to it
My favorite of all time, finally you reacted to it
one of a kind song
what do you mean by 'escalate' ?

Please, react to Diana Navarro "El perdón", the official video.
She's got an amazing voice.
Thanks.
I agree with every word you say. Apparently you were born to be a fan of Metallica.
You wanna crank it up to 11 do Pantera Cemetary Gates trust me. Or maybe some in the evening or Black Dog by Led Zepplin.
GK,
I know this has absolutely nothing to do with this reaction.
But this has to be said.
Purple is definitely your color !

you need to adjust your recording audio levels because they're picked out the songs come in through distorted
