- In my defense, my first auditions of this song were solid and dead on. Then I was told to be more acrobatic with my vocals for the blind audition. It felt forced, pitchy, and unnatural. It's just a simple, depressing song and I should have just left it that way.
I love The Voice and they treated me very well, but I was pretty annoyed at the time with that. THANKFULLY, it worked out better for me because I got to be the comeback story! Awww yuuahh!! Hope you like my new version now that I'm five years older and "wiser."

A mysterious lyrics that I love! One of the most iconic songs of all time! This song looks like a work of art or a surrealist painting !! I don't know what to say about this Procol Harum song, but I love this song! There are other songs that make me feel in the same enigmatic way, .... Fun fact, I met Procol Harum a few years ago, was working in a bar in a city they just had made a gig, and they showed up after at our bar. I was fucking speechless, those guys I had heard all my (young) life, legends, were here, in front of me. The singer threw a 500€ bill on the bar and said it should cover the crew for a few rounds. Luckily I was the only one fluent with english, and they were really nice (about 10 or 15 people).
The guitarist however, that's the crazy part about the story, later this night, when the 500€ tab was long consumed, this guy at one point came back at the bar with a half drunk pint in his hand, the same pint of local beer I asked him if he wanted to try 10 mins before and he said yes, and told me "This beer is fucking shit", so I told him alright then, wanna try a more classic lagger perhaps? He said yea, so I pour him one, he tastes it and likes it, he drops the other half empty glass on the bar and just proceeds to go on his way with the new one, I was here like "Wtf this guy is doing" so I call him out and ask him to pay cause we don't exactly do free samples here, and the bloke tells me he doesn't have to pay because he already paid for the one before and he didn't like it and it was my fault because I suggested it. LOL. So we argued for a few mins, it got really heated up, I told him it wasn't my fault if he didn't like the beer before and it doesn't get him a free one. The guy was half drunk, he was really tring to try start shit up and probably about to fight me and as much as it would make a hell of story to kick some famous guy's ass, I didn't want to touch a hair of an old man who had his brain apparentely all foggy, so I just told him to fucking pay or I'd call the cops, and he eventually did and joined his friends.
Not really a good publicity move, but he was a customer like everyone else, and I couldn't afford to lose my job (which I did eventually) because some famous guy decided he wouldn't pay for his beer. Was kinda bummed it was the first and probably last time I was meeting them, and that it happened like that.
This makes me hate the band even more lol. Killer story though.

Personally, I might just like that version better than the original. The only thing is that song doesn’t give you the opportunity to really showcase how powerful your voice is or your stratospheric range.
