If anything this looks and feels more like a vintage Castlevania game a la Symphony of the Night or the "Sorrow" series(Aria of Sorrow and Dawn of Sorrow from GBA and DS respectively) moreso than Dark Souls. It's sad that and ENTIRE generation of gamers will grow up never having know about those amazing games.

I would like to see a mechanic with the bell enemy. Something like hitting the creature enough times without killing it calls forth a transformation or another creature. Hopefully the team has some interesting ideas for the project anyways. Looks cool so far.
I feel like some of the sounds could be me more visceral sounding for the combat. I don't know if it's you lowering the gameplay volume in the video or it's just me but I felt the slicing sounds didn't have enough grit or satisfaction to them.

I really can't wait...i already loved (seriously...LOVED) the previous 2 games the team made (The Last Door ch 1 and 2) they really seem to get how to translate the "uncanny" and "eldritch horror" into videogame form..which is something that only recently people are starting to get (i still remember the delusion that was, years ago, "Call of Cthulhu DCOTH"..but i reccomend "Clive Barker's Undying" to anyone) I really seem to love 2D style soulslikes...Salt & Sanctuary is one of my top 10 games of all time, and i loved also Shrouded in sanity (PLAY IT!! Very bloodborne-ish) Can't wait, also, for EITR and Death Gambit.

If they could add some more mob (themed buy stage why not, it's not 1980 with 8mb of space on cartridge). Imagine a dragon themed stage with a lot of hybrid of dragon (zombie/dark/animal/etc), or one with a theme like cthulhu (tentacule monster everywhere).

I certainly hope that they can deliver on their promises. What I've noticed from Kickstarter games is that it's taking people a LONG time to deliver all they promise. Usually they just release the game when they feel like it's complete, and after release they start releasing promised stuff. Like Shovel Knight and it's other playable characters, it's taken them YEARS to deliver them all. And there's still one more to go. Same with Hollow Knight, it's gonna take them about a year to deliver all the promised extra content and then there's the new playable character that's gonna come with it's own campaign. Coming back to Blasphemous, it looks really great. But I wonder why this prototype wasn't available for everyone from the very start? It doesn't seem like anything special and it looks like it was always ready to go. I guess it's too unfinished to just show to anyone? Maybe.

I don't understand some of these comments. Why is it impossible for a game to have multiple inspirations. Is it Dark Souls or a Metroidvania? You think it could be both? Possibly a redeem code or something, I recall the Hitman game came with something similar so I doubt it's out of the question.
