- Alabama Shakes experienced a meteoric rise following the release of their 2012 debut and took their time crafting their sophomore album, expanding on their soulful blues-rock sound. Last week, timed to the release of their new CD, Sound & Color, they performed live at KCRW's Apogee Sessions as part of NPR Music's First Listen Live series.

this is a really creative guitar part in Future People - it seems simple but it really isn't. And i'm super impressed she can sing and play it live. i didn't realize she played guitar in the band - thought she was just the vocalist. respect

It's not just her range that is impressive, it's her range of tone too: she's singing all sorts of different styles here.
she is amazing. to either sing or play guitar like that would be ace, but to do both at the same time....just wow.
the songs are so damn clever as well, the parts are extraordinary and original. so many awesome changes, and perfect musicianship. can't hear to much of this...
