QOTSA are always going to be defined by their early, genre defining work. But this song is such a great example of a band progressing forward while never losing sight of their original selves. The talent level and sheer ability of the various ensembles over the years has skyrocketed since their original incarnation, and the culmination of that trajectory on this album is truly remarkable. It will get lost to most observers who have either moved on from QOTSA due to the changing times or have written this album off due to the involvement of Mark Ronson.
