I am so glad to see that the "Rockwell B1-B" is still in service! And,there is still a possibility that the B1-B could use this using its "rotisserie mount/launch" system given its size...
No you are not lol, it needs retired it currently costs the US Airforce MORE per flight hour than a B2 Bomber.... roughly $170000 per hour which is why the US air-force has tried for years to retire them and wants them all gone by 2030 to be replaced by the B21.
Right, it is secret information, and a mass majority of the population does not know one way or the other as to "who" or "where" that destructive missile or destructive force came from, if it wasn't just infrastructure failure anyway. I guess you just have to remain open to all you do not yet know.
You don't mention the HF-2 and HF-2b anti-ship missiles from Taiwan. Taiwan has over 1,000 of them. The HF-2b is new, and just being produced now. Their range is 250km. Even if their ECCM is not as sophisticated, they will still be able to take out troop ships, and less well defended ships than the lead capital ships of the PLA Navy, which likely have good defenses. The 400 Harpoons Taiwan has can take those out.
The war over taiwan will almost exclusively be an air and missile war. The US will not be able to generate meaningful CAP over taiwan due to the distance their planes need to travel while chinese aviation would mop up taiwan's air force and the PLARF would quickly degrade taiwan's military logistics with sustained strategic bombardment. the only naval assets used by china will be submarines which will lay mine around taiwan's ports and hunt the few sub taiwan has.
I'd see more usage for launching HARM and it's newer counterpart from ground launchers. Or perhaps stuff like Spear 3/Spear EW. More long range smart muntions to saturate air defense from the ground.

That doesn’t include rapid dragon where cargo planesl such as the C130 and C17 can deploy them on palletized system - essentially turning them into bombers and Taiwan has some c-130s
I had been thinking about a flapless design, by using manoeuvrable weights inside the missile's structure. Possibly also useful for a hypersonic missile design.
The JASSM-ER utilizes a turbofan engine similar to those found in tactical fighter planes, and has an internal structure that allows for additional fuel storage, increasing its range from around 230 miles to over 620 miles. The missile is guided by an internal inertial navigation and GPS unit for most of its flight, which was originally developed for weapons such as the AGM-154 Joint Standoff Weapon. Once the missile reaches its target, it switches to an infrared seeker for terminal guidance.
Their various type anti ship missiles are the whole point of what Taiwan is doing. Oversaturation with Subsonic dated Harpoon missiles, subsonic steath Lrassm, Brahamos and the various missiles Taiwan made will make shooting down most of them nearly impossible
I think LM had better get more production capabilities fast. The US needs 4 times as many as we have for starters. Let's try to boost that production up to 500 per month.
We are not producing anywhere near enough. Perhaps we should see if Australia would like to a production line and we build a third one here. Perhaps we would have one dedicated for the LRASM in the US.
How many are needed to take out an aircraft carrier? Let’s yes it’s 10. The Chinese only have two carriers, so that’s a lot of missiles being produced each year to take out their main ships
It would be nice to have at least one for every ship in the People's Liberation Army Navy and their Coast guard which contains many military ships. It'll also be useful to have some for the civilian roll on roll off ships which would be used in an invasion. Obviously, some of the larger targets would need more than one missile but there are others that aren't worth a missile. The promise that everyone assumes that China couldn't shoot any of these down. They have air board early warning and control aircraft with L-band phased array radars. They have drones with the same types of radars. And they have fighter aircraft with X-Band AESA radars They have destroyers and cruisers with dual band AESA radars. Stealthy me a souls can be detected at close ranges and some are going to be shot down
Imagine 45 B-1 and 21 B-2 taking off from the USA, carrying 24 and 20 LRAS each. 1,080 and 420 = 1,500 of those things hitting 1,500 different targets. Hope China doesn’t do it
no, it turns into an attrition war where chinese rockets fired from trucks on the mainland shell the crap out of taiwan for months while the US can't find or hit these rocket launchers hiding inside cities and forests.
@@Daniel-i8u4l its the idea of dumping missiles out the back of cargo planes. A dumb idea cause those cargo planes would be seen 1000km away by AWACs and shot down by chinese stealth fighters.

If the Chinese Navy invades Taiwan there's another bomb they could use called the "Quicksink." The Quicksink is dropped beside the vessel and it explodes under the hull instantly breaking the ship in two. They could probably use 5000 to 10,000 pound plus Quicksinks to bust the Chinese aircraft carriers in two.
First you have to get within a few km of a chinese ship to do that. Good luck when you've got hundreds of chinese fighters and land based SAMs covering.
If this Missile is so good why are we not making tens of thousands of them. If there's a war we will need everyone of these missiles we can get our hands on.
You're not winning a missile production fight with China, for that matter you're not winning a production fight of anything with China. If you find yourself needing numbers, you've already lost.
It's actually 2 different countries... but you can view them as Chinese civil war that never did end. 1 is communist China; the other being R.O.C Taiwan.
I have 2 questions. First, are either of these weapons nuclear capable? And second, what does carrying a stealth weapon like LRASM externally on the F35 do to the stealth characteristics of the jet? If anyone knows, I'd appreciate the answer. Thanks! 🤓
It will obviously compromise the plane's stealth capabilities. This is one of the reason why the NGAD program is being developed as the added external fuel reservoirs were also compromising the purpose of the F35 and F22's stealth capabilities as the new pacific theater will require more range
Stealth is mainly achieved by the top layer of planes so missles and some bombs that are external don't do much to effect it, because they're under the wings! Most radar systems will not detect it until it's to late, meaning they'd only detect when in close proximity. Btw not sure about your 1st quest., but would think one if not both would be capable!
Here we are still making subsonic missiles and try to make them sound scary. They will be very easy to shoot down because they are much too slow. We need to make our new missiles hyper sonic. They need thousands of hidden missiles capable of knocking down large, inner city buildings and factories all over China. Unfortunately NATO doesn't operate in the pacific... tho imho NATO should be rebranded to let countries like Australia, NZ, Japan, Taiwan etc could join if they want to..
If the US upgrades these AGM 158 missiles to a speed of Mach 5 or higher, the US already has a hypersonic missile with high flexibility and great destructive power.

Possible, Smallest Ants Can kill to Bigger Elephant.
Sounds like 30 thousand chinese troops at the bottom of the taiwan straight is gonna be a problem ❤❤❤❤❤

the jizum missle would be effective against china
The only thing that could save Taiwan is NATO membership, the sooner the better. THe world must show China its place
Guarantee WW3 more like. Christ, the number of dumb warhawks in the world at the moment is just fucking crazy.

If the US upgrades these AGM 158 missiles to a speed of Mach 5 or higher, the US already has a hypersonic missile with high flexibility and great destructive power.
Are you messing , China just sink your fleet . Before some clown says they can’t then watch your admiral in the senate “ grifters in the pentagon “ . This missile programme got dropped didn’t it
I wonder if it has Stealth capabilities ?
in what way its superior to bromosh or zircon or scalp?

Russian made missile defense systems would give it a run for its money
Wonder why the Netherlands also are getting this missile system
They're slow, not stealthy, and expensive.
this does not make sense. 1 single type of missile does not balance the 2 powers . You will many long range , medium range , and short range missiles as well as missile defence in order to b full counter the other power .
tsmc inside?
Just like the missile, the name is also long range
i don't think so..
Ukraine Russian war should have taught America 3,650 missiles is just not enough for these high intensity wars. They need 36,500 plus!
China PRC has millions of these LRSM for saturation attacks dropped from these delivery systems
The same technology is available to the Chinese. The corporation that makes these devices are multinational
A 1 million dollar missile that effectively destroy a ship worth hundreds of millions? Seems worth it.
Do they really worth as described though? Maybe some real combat testing in Ukraine is needed. I don't think everyone is 100% sold on them
