Poland recently requested the purchase of over 800 of the newest US JASSM cruise missiles. The US State Department approved it. This video explains what sort of missile Poland is buying, when might Poland get those missiles and why are those missiles a big deal. Plus, how the said purchase gets Poland to the point where it’s gonna have the second-biggest cruise missile arsenal in NATO, trailing only the US.

I didn't yet watch video. But I must address this. As there is a lot of misconceptions about 500 HIMARS meme. The launchers are themselves irrelevant. Poland actually need replace a lot of short range missile launchers of Grad standard. And because HIMARS is modular, the idea was to use them primarily for Polish made Feniks-Z 122 mm missiles. And have also option to fire GMLRS and ATACMS from any of those trucks. Because agreement with US was not yet signed, alternative deal was made with South Korea. What agree on such option. What also allow Poland to use South Korean missiles on different launcher (as US refused compatibility deal with them in the past). Depending on negotiation result, the exact proportions of Homar-A and Homar-K would be decided in future.

Russia saved you, you wouldn't even exist today without their gigantic sacrifice to defeat the germans who would have slaughtered you all.
And when it comes to the time afterwards: say thanks to NATO, which was created by US fascism to continue 2.WW.
Russia wanted peace, instead NATO brought war and by that Russia couldn't just retreat one-sided for serveral decades.
When it eventually could, your corrupt politicians sold you out to western fascism for nothing. Congrats.
If Russia would have wanted Poland, it would never hat let you go.
It never cared. The peaceful disolving of the USSR is 100% proof for that and that NATO didn't do the same but instead marched eastward is proof for its fascistic aggression.
Without the nukes, the USA would have already sent you as cannonfodder eastwards, just was it had done with the german Nazis, the USA had supported even during the war, including during the attack on Poland that was stopped by the USSR. the USA only went in for the looting, when their Nazis had learly lost. Not to finisht of the Nazis, but to save them and keep the majority of them in power, integrated into NATO and of course to take over Europe, which even today is the USA's little b****.

I wish my country was doing the same. We are one of the richest countries in the world without using a fraction of our resources ,just up north, If we develop our natural gas, oil ,diamond, and gold, we would be by far the richest country per GDP. America develops every inch of their natural resources, and so does Russia. But that's the only thing Russia has for their economy. America's got other things, and so do we .We just have 10% of America's population, but our quality of life, according to the UN, is far better than America. America is the best country in the world, if you're rich. But I just heard the California government is putting minimum wage up to $20 an hour. If that's true, I have great respect for him. And your crime will go down because no one's going to work for peanuts and have nothing. So your taxes will actually go down. Because people cry about paying more for their fast food. I would move there now. And I still don't like your healthcare system ,but I hate the cold, and I make more than $20 an hour But t I'd take a pay cut. My company is actually from America , so I wonder if I could transfer to Los Angeles. That would be awesome as long as I'm making at least $20 an hour. Because I saw a lot of TV shows, you guys pay $350 or more a month for health insurance that's crazy.

What the westerners don’t understand is that russians are willing to sacrifice EVERY PIECE OF COMFORT they still may have (though most of them are living in really bad conditions) just to feel that the West is afraid of them. That’s their coping mechanism. You need to understand, that they’re living in day to day gloom and misery, so every tiniest piece of pride is worth their last micron of comfort.

Mass production of cheap long-range drones is a better idea, especially since Poland could produce them itself. But unfortunately, armaments are not only practical matters... but also politics. • @Digital_Griffin
      @Digital_Griffin Місяць тому +3

Cheap, long-range drones are useful, but they aren't the best at everything. Compared to an expensive, purpose-built missile, cheap drones will have far more trouble penetrating heavily defended airspace, especially as all countries race to develop better drone countermeasures. They are also far slower and less precise (unless manually piloted, in which case they become vulnerable to jamming instead). Not to say that Poland shouldn't invest into drones, but drones and cruise missiles are two different tools for two different tasks.

While there are a ton of reasons to buy these, there’s better options available: a Cessna.
Ukraine has shown on the sea’s that cheap and low cost drones can be immensely powerful. A Jetski with explosives and a target can deal a lot of damage. Flying drones with an explosive on it can also deal a lot of damage and are often too numerous or cheap to be shot down.
A new Cessna with all the tech upgrades is between 1/3rd to 1/2 the cost of a Jassm, has the same range, does not need to be air-launched and a lot more weight it can carry. And you don’t need a new one, you can buy a used one for as cheap as 30.000 dollars, or 20 you could buy for the price of one Jassm (although likely the amount of Cessna’s for that price won’t be as big, so 150.000 could be a good back of the envelope estimate). Or you could buy the cheapest Cessna model with any equipment you don’t need and come at a cheaper model. In fact, you don’t need an aircraft rated for multiple flights and capabilities. You need one that can fly just once. So using cheaper stuff you can probably start mass producing your own.
Imagine what you could do to Sevastopol Harbor’s military infrastructure if during a regular drone strike (possibly with one or two Stormshadows) you add 10 Cessna’s with 2.5 tons of explosives (Jassm and Stormshadow 450kg) and slam them into the ships and infrastructure there.
Look, Cruise missiles have a valuable role. If you want something specific destroyed you want an accurate and powerful missile to hit it reliably. But large scale wars are massively influenced by how cheaply you can destroy something, and there’s hundreds to thousands of targets that don’t really need a cruise missile but could be destroyed using cheaper alternatives. A Cessna with 2.5 tons worth of explosives is a simple back of the envelope idea which could make cheaper cruise missile capabilities for anti-air saturation or targeting one of the many many lower value targets that you still want destroyed.
The opening of full scale non-nuclear war with Russia or China is expected to have a mass cruise missile launch anyway, so anti-air installations will be busy, reloading or out of position anyway. So the Cessna’s would be able to reach most targets and deal their damage.

theyre developing drones too, but you cant go all out on drones imo, especially the low tech ones. just because theyre proving effective now doesnt mean a lot of effort isnt put as we speak into developing cost effective countermeasures. imagine you build numerous factories of these things and 3 years from now everyone has anti air that can tackle slow moving targets. remember how songs were written about bayraktars? when was the last time you heard of one

@@Nathan_Yahoo but that is literally all the justifications to use off-the-shelf capabilities first.
Buying secondhand Cessna’s (and other cheap aircraft like Ultralights) off the market and stuffing them with explosives with some drone software (which now doesn’t need to be as miniaturized) should be an easy way to get dozens if not hundreds of drones with a large capacity and proven record of capabilities, then develop a handful of drones on the side that do the same but cheaper. It cuts down on R&D, it gives you these capabilities right now to experiment with while the military hasn’t adjusted yet, it is literally better in every single way than developing them from scratch and risking that in the future a good countermeasure is developed.
Also, it is extremely unlikely that these drones will disappear completely. Even if they can only use internal navigation techniques they would still have an important role to play in long range strike capabilities and saturation of enemy AA capabilities, and the Cessna’s would then actually be the best option since the lower accuracy can be made up by sheer explosive power you can pack into them. Even as “just” a smart munition meant to hit supply depots behind the lines (for which I would look at an 8000 dollar Ultralight with +/-100kg payload), they would be valuable tools.

@@TheDemigans im sure poland can develop something better than a cessna drone, its not like they dont have their own drone program already. i think the missiles are a good idea. kamikaze drones seem more like a weapon for harrasment during an active war, missiles are a deterrent, agressor has to think twice when you have a larger capability to strike targets on very short notice

Literally, storm shadow missiles have been shown to be better at destroying high value targets constantly than the cessna, and the jassm is better than the storm shadow. You aren't attacking harden target with them like you can with jassm because they don't have a bunker busting warhead. Good news, we "simply" need to produce more. Bad news, when you don't make large contracts with the companies making the products. They start loosing their capability to produce in large numbers in a short amount of time. When war arrives, it is too late to ask for more.
