The right bag on that Challenger is not connected on the front inside bolt and needs to be fixed. They do not move that much.
The rear pegs are not OEM, they're aftermarket.
I'll give you the plastic comments.
The Challenger does have adjustable vents, again research before video.
Firm up the suspension on the Challenger if you need to - it'd way easier than on the HD (research).
The 2into1 on the Challengers sound sick. Just saying.
Really, you don't know if it's belt driven or not. Come'on man..
The RPMs are coming up fast and "you have to shift fast" because it revs much faster (shorter stroke). Not a bad thing.
I do also agree with fit and finish being better on the HD. Hopefully Indian improves that.
Some people who like Harleys will never even consider anything else, and good for you as a Harley salesman in that respect. At least you rode one, although I think you already knew what your review was before you started. HDs are my second favorite brand and I'd love to add one to the garage, but despite the Challengers short comings in "fit and finish" it is by far the most fun, reliable and comfortable bike I've ever owned.

Heyo, I also have done this comparison on my channel...recently. I don't get into a big huff about which bike is better or not however, for the price IMO, the Indian Challenger hands-down is and was my choice. I think the Indian is a more complete package in what you get for your money. HD is IMO too retro and there are too many things that I would have to change right out of the box to make the bike comfortable which also makes the bike much more expensive. Since the RG shares the same frame with the SG it turns good too however, there is not a big enough difference in real-world driving to sway my choice away from the Indian. Nice presentation of your thoughts, people ride what they wanna ride and there is nothing wrong with that. Competition between the brands is good for progress.

Personally i prefer the Harley, back in fall of 2021 I was looking for a new touring bike and thought id keep an open mind, to be fair i have owned Victory, Indian & Harley. I liked the liquid cooled engine on the Indian and i did like the low centre of gravity but thats where it ended, i found once on the bike it had that same disappointing feeling like you have when you get into a new Toyota, it just had that cheap plastic feel and pieced together with plastic, probably produced cheaper but sold for the same price.
I did look at the Chieftain but i could not get over that stupid looking dash, i fell like johnny 5 from the movie Short Circuit was looking at me while i was driving, very poor design for a dash and very plastic, just like a Toyota.
I ended up buying a 2021 Street Glide and while i know its not perfect out of the box, part of the fun of owning a Harley is the ability to personalize it anyway you want, ive replaced the seat, bars, shocks, lights, doing a stage 2 over this winter and several other things, but its personalized to me.

Lol, this is the most ridiculous and transparently biased review I’ve watched to date. When deciding to buy a bike, I looked at the RG and the Challenger. Even though the bikes weigh the same, the RG was top heavy. To say the Challenger isn’t well-balanced is way off the mark. The suspension of the Indian is much better, you can’t even try to deny that. As for torque, both bikes have a good amount. But there is a huge disparity in HP, winner being the Indian. The HP is what you need when you want to pass a vehicle on the highway while doing 70mph. On the Indian while in 6th, just twist and go. No need to start dumping gears. And the bags on my Challenger don’t move like that, don’t know what you’ve done to that bike. The Indian does have adjustable vents in the fairing and a belt drive. Come on dude. If you love HD, that’s cool. I love Road Glides too. But the Challenger is so much better than a Road Glide in nearly every way, it just comes down to personal preference.

The saddle bags on the challenger are not latched all the way, the covers are meant to pop off without tools to access the fuse panel and adjustable rear shock. The windshield on the challenger is awesome I can drink a water at 95mph with it adjusted right. Not mention the performance is night and day difference. Those rear pegs are aftermarket on the indian. The indian doesn't vibrate so all those pieces don't move around while riding. The indian has twice the suspension travel front and back. The indian also makes more hp and torque. You don't understand the sounds of a liquid cooled overhead cam engine. A stage 2 107 Harley is still way slower then the challenger with slip-ons.

The HD has been modified and still doesn’t perform like the Indian does.

  • @davidefland1985
    @davidefland1985 Рік тому +4

A biased video here. It’s either your choosing looks or form and function. The Indian has inverted forks, adjustable windshield, rider modes, liquid cooled overhead cam, gear primary. belt secondary opposite side drives. Only one oil to change. Superior suspension no need to spend a couple grand more for better suspension like HD. HD advantage more dealerships. All things the Indian offers are a big plus to me. But to each his own. Freedom of choice. HD finally figured out they could make more power by using a 4 valve head. Something Victory was already doing. Indian is dominating the bagger races with a smaller motor than HD is using.

I would much prefer a comparison with new bikes. When reviewing used bikes there is a larger margin to consider because some people don’t keep up with maintenance which is evident on the Indian. Both bikes are great rides. The biggest plus for me would be the water cooled engine. Indian is more rider friendly ie power windshield, code keypad on the infotainment screen, power locks, 3 different ride modes and adjustable Fox suspension from the touchscreen on the Pursuit. HD hold s big plus in the amount of dealers all over the country so if you have problems along the road. In my experience riding with friends when I had my Chieftain they HD always needed a dealer because someone always had a problem. Also you are comparing a Limited to a Challenger a more fair comparison is a Pursuit vs a Limited. My bags never did that but my RGS opened up in a big bump in TN! I have had more warranty issues with my RGS. My RGS is more nimble in the turns than my Chieftain but frame vs fork mounted fairing so not a fair comparison. So there is plastic…all bikes have that to help keep the weight down which I would think it’s also less expensive to replace if damaged. The side corner panels are plastic on both. I didn’t have to take the left bag off to adjust the shock on my Chieftain with just the side panel which was faster ands easier than my RGS. Point is there are +/- to both. Both are great bikes. One thing I have never heard from the local Indian dealer was negative comments about HD or any other brand. They encourage customers to go ride all bikes before they decide what they want!

Also, regarding the head buffeting, one is just as bad as the other! I have always gotten a lot of wind buffering without lower fairings. You also did not talk about the real time traffic and weather overlay on the Ride Command mapping system. Another point pretty much all stock exhaust sucks which is why we all upgrade that pretty quickly. When you talk about the space in the faring storage pockets a RG isn’t gonna fit anything bigger than the phone you have either I have a regular iPhone 13 and it doesn’t have much room in there. Also the doors are not a gloss black because that’s a Darkhorse they’re all in matte paint so why would they put gloss on a matte bike. You also refer to the chrome on the speakers I have a blacked out RHS and it has chrome basils around the gauges and came stock with a chrome kickstand again it’s a mute point they both come with chrome stuff on a blacked out bike!

I always encourage customers to ride the other bikes and no hard feelings if they like another brand/bike better. I wasn't being negative about the bike at all I was simply giving my honest feedback. The infotainment is better, it has more power, etc. However I truly do believe the Harley is built better. No matter what you do to a liquid cooled bike it will never sound as good as an air cooled. Harley or not. I gave honest opinions on both just being real about my thoughts. Not being a hater at all.

@@motoblend9923 you do have access there’s an Indian dealer a mile down the road. They’ll let you take it out for a long test drive and they don’t go with you on a little 3 mile route. I never said you were being negative I’m just pointing out some other positive factors being that I have owned both. Both have high points and low points and let’s not forget to point out the price points on both. I can get a fully loaded Pursuit limited for about the same as I paid for my RGS in Snake Venom. From the factory they come with full LED lights which is another thing the customer won’t have to change out when you get a bike. As far as the Challenger/Pursuit headlight I prefer the road glide. In the end it’s just personal preference. You don’t like the suspension I like having a Cadillac suspension I’m older than you things hurt after a long ride. That’s why It’s best to have many things to choose from, everyone has different, have different wants and needs and it pushes manufacturers to build better machines and not be complacent.

Just saying something is not right then, if they moved like that I would not have bought one lol

The bag wasn't fit to the brace mounts on the exhaust properly... causing the movement. Loosen both mounting fasteners, firmly press down on the bag while tightening the bolts. This will insure 4-points of contact (little to no movement) instead of 2 (like the bike in your video). The holes in the bags are slotted, allowing for adjustment depending on exhaust system. If the rear tire was ever replaced, the bags were most likely not reinstalled properly.

Hater doofison is 2nd to Indian Challenger as far as performance , speed and looks. HD’s are loud and slow , just like a riding lawn mower with out a muffler. Indian is a far better build. Your just pissed because Indian Challenger out runs hardly a bike doofison

I'm good on Polaris. Sounds like a lawnmower no matter what you do to motor/exhaust.

The Indian will smoke that Harley through the whole range. Let’s be real. The Indian rides and performs way over the Harley. Fit and finish? Really, are you stupid? The Harley has no sculpted parts on it. It is a frame with parts plopped on it. Just look at your gauges and screen that is not ergonomic. The paint jobs on Harleys is not what it used to be. My twenty one year old Harley has far above what you can buy today.

I disagree I think the Harley has the Indian beat off the line. I don't think it rides any better than the Harley. It has a little more top end for sure but not like an insane amount. I prefer the guages and the screen on the Harleys.

@@motoblend9923 That is not what all my RG buddies say when they get on the Challenger. I have a Victory that sits right next to my XL1200S and the ride and engineering are like night and day. Polaris took the V-Twin and turned it into what a Harley should be with bore and stroke to deliver the most power. I have ridden Honda V-twins and they feel mushy but then again so do the batwing fairing Harleys compared to the sportster. Fit and finish? I never really paid much attention to it until I bought the Polaris product and sat it next to the Harley. I understand the plastic moldings that make the design flow from front to back. The matte paint against a black frame and engine with just the right amount of metallic flake in the paint that makes it still a matte finish without being shiny. I was really disappointed in the paint on new Harley's. My 22 year old paint is better than buddies 2022 SG. I did not have the heart to tell him. I can see my teeth to this day on my bike's finish.
