2022 Harley Low Rider ST Changed My Mind

- 💭 Low Rider ST is a motorcycle I didn't think was for me. I made a video about it expressing how the fairing wasn't of my style choice, but after seeing it in person.. getting seat time in various conditions, I can say not only did I get it wrong, but the Low Rider ST changed my mind.

HD should have provided a 2 into 1 exhast and made both panniers equal size.
Like all of your other bike reviews, you nailed it on this review. This is what you need to do full time.
That’s what the giveaway bike is helping work towards. 💪🏾
The speakers on Low Rider ST is an add-on accessory. Also, Rockford offers a clip-on control accessory for the sound system. Would’ve been beneficial to have it on the ST to try out but ayeee, we take what we can get. 👌🏾
Hey Brandon are you heading down to the national biker Roundup in Gonzales Louisiana
@@Mr-pi7bd not this year. Out of vacation 🥲
@@Shadrach666 spoken like someone who can’t afford one so you hate. We don’t care. 😌
@@BrandonBicasso awww is that what you think? You assume a lot, but know nothing. I can get any Harley I like, but I would Never get one in grey no matter the model.
Can you fix your bike?
I've seen a million of your videos and while I cannot afford an ST......I just wanted to say your videos are great! Keep up the great work.
Putting all that retailer competition bullshit aside, I really love my Indian Scout Bobber, but the Low Rider ST looks really, really well done. The front reminds me of old diesel trains from the 1930s, I like the engine and everything looks incredibly high quality. I wish everyone who bought one a lot of fun with it! Great motorcycle!
I went from a Bobber to the LRST and have zero regrets.
Brandon- I put a 25$ generic Bluetooth remote on my handlebars- and control my phone from it - solves music control easy !
Yep, there's always a work around :D
Awesome Bicasso. Sorry for not watching earlier. Have travelled across Australia with wife dog and trailer in tow left last Wednesday arrived 5.5k kms later on Sunday and have been setting up home for the missus and dog. Been busy mate. Great review
Love the bike but how can you get comfortable if you are over 5’10”…At 6’1” my knees are higher than my hips.
I'm wondering if the posterior cylinder is cut off with the 117 engine of the Low Rider ST when you stand still at a trafficlight f.e. to reduce heat. I think this happens with the touring models.
Had I not already place an order for a different bagger, I would have VERY likely scooped one of these up since they are more available.
Good video Brandon. You always tell the truth about how you feel about whatever you are reviewing without bias and it is much appreciated.
I enjoy your content and appreciate your opinions generally. I am considering the 2022 Low Rider (S AND ST) as well as the Chief Dark Horse. Which bike would you choose for the biggest smile ? I currently ride an FTR 1200 S and a Street Bob 107 (Stage 1), and thinking of changing to only one bike, and come from a sport bike background...i would appreciate your thoughts.
Chief has better tech. 4 inch ride command on dark horse means you don’t need to mount your phone. Plus cruise control. But this bikes fairing looks sick, and comes with bags, and probably has a better suspension.
For me as a chief owner I really value the tech, and my big windscreen that has quick release is great. I mounted a big Bluetooth speaker for audio, and once I upgrade the suspension to a premium aftermarket one it’ll be awesome. love my leather bags too.
Hey Brandon. Nice post...clear, concise and appreciate you explaining about the music system. PICK MINE UP TOMORROW FROM SYKES IN EAST SUSSEX U.K. safe riding dude
Ayeee! Sure thing. If you get the music system, make sure you get the handlebar control remote that comes with it. Harley corrected me on that but at the time, it wasn’t available on the bikes we demo’d.
Is the lowrider ST the same as the lowrider S with a fairing, bags & speakers?
My biggest issue with this bike is Harley picked to two most boring colors to choose from. Your only color options are black or grey. I wouldn’t buy this bike mainly because I’d have to spend lots of money repainting it so it wasn’t so blah. Other than that, it’s a cool looking bike.
Yeah, they're going (IMO) off what most people do to these bikes. Gray/Black is a typical color with this segment of the market.
I’m bummed that they got rid of the midnight crimson color.
It’s cool and all but, I’m still waiting on the Bronx… until the end of time
First person to open the bag
Not feeling the flop open
That's so limiting
the fairing is too ugly. looks like japanese cub
When riding a harley. The exhaust is your music
Wow, I'm surprised you liked it ?
How does it compare to the Chief ? I would think that a 116 Chief would be comparable especially if you put an aftermarket fairing (w/ radio-stereo) on it. There is one aftermarket that I forget the name of but it would be equal to what H-D has on that bike.
I’d have to ride them side by side but it would be close to splitting hairs on performance. Character and heat management is what I’d pay more attention to.
Been waiting for this review to come out! Crushed it as always!
I really want this bike. Your comment About the tight hips concerns me a bit though since that’s me :( I guess I’ll have to make sure I focus on that when I test it out.
Lol do some yoga exercises and you’ll be fine. I’m glad I mentioned that so you would be prepared for it.
Professional video you the man
Had a go on LRS 117, didn't like the peg's shop said they had a 114 with forwards on it take that for a spin .... 50 min's later came back big grin on my face and signed the paperwork lol ... Don't need panniers as when going away there's a van that follows as he can't ride a bike anymore. Great video honest and to the point
Sure thing. The pegs are definitely a little weird but it's a great ride when you find that sweet spot!
Hey Shoutout to @HerTwoWheels at 0:35. Nice video Brandon. It's a great sign of integrity and intelligence when you can change your opinion after being given new information.
For sure!
I know it’s apples and oranges. But just for shits and giggles. What’s faster, the new nightster, of the low rider with the 117?
Nightster. Power to weight ratio on that bike is wild.
The Lowrider S and ST are on the Softail platform.
That color, gray, uhh remind me of a glue in the old days that smelled so bad it made you throw up, this color still makes me feel like throwing up.
Oh wow, lol
What color do you like? Gray or Black?
Gray.
I know you have ridden the Triumph Rocket 3 as well. Since they are in the same category how do you compare the two?
Oof. I wouldn't compare them fully. The power and handling are different Imo. I'd probably spend more time on the Rocket since I like muscle bikes more but I could go longer distances on the ST.
If I were in a bulldozer and this bike was on the other side of an orphanage...... I'de be riding it. I love it that much.
Oh my lol
I haven't come across your channel before, but I've come away from this video with two pieces of feedback. First- nice production quality! I'll definitely come back for more. Second- still no face reveal for Blockhead 😀maybe someday..
Another great video as always. Have to admit that bike might be a sleeper. Will definitely test one
Lemme know what you think 💪🏾
I would love to have that Harley your rebuilding I’ve always wanted one great channel by the way 🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻
The bags came off the sportglide series. My question is.. is the fairing hollow? Where you can upgrade/ add different/bigger speakers into it?
Great review. But personally, I just can't get past that front fairing.
My cousin just bought one. He let me ride it around the block. I was gone for a hour. This bike is way nicer then I expected. I ride a roadglide now I may be buying this bike.
Slowjoe
the two different sized bags ruin it for me, my OCD makes me tap out immediately
Will have to consider it. Had an older Low Rider, a Road King, Dyna Glide, CVO Soft Tail Found my Fatboy Low SE was perfect for me. Wish I never sold it.
Hey Brandon, I just got a 2022 low rider S almost a month ago my dream bike, took it to get its first 1k service yesterday, been loving it, I went from a z400 to the low rider s so I was a little worried about if it was gonna be sluggish but I’m honestly surprised at how nimble they are for 690lbs, and the 117 is awesome there’s torque pretty much everywhere in the power band, question- do you wish they used the 2022 low rider s gauge for the st instead of the rider gauge?
I do.
Didn’t make much difference for me but it was odd seeing that at first. When you look at how the S is designed, it requires you to look down at the gauges. Less of that on the ST but definitely can be more of a challenge given how small the indicators are.
💯👍👍
👍
everything feels like money because the bike grabs a lot of money….
Very comprehensive, not focusing on specs. I really enjoyed this video, well worth the wait. And great editing too, I liked how you incorporated that shot of the Cardo when talking about the media controls, or lack there of lol
What that song you was playing from your phone?

Always got the music in the video description. Love this one.
🤘⚡️🤘✨✨ great video!
clam shell bags are a bad idea
everybody seems to like it! i just dont like the look! it might be hella comfortable! but for now i am young so looks are more improtant then comfort :D
Great video
not a fan of the fairing.
Bicasso THIS close to being an honorary Californian at this point
Great video brother. You look comfortable on that bike. 🎯🎯🎯👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿💯💯💯
Definitely was.
I can't wait to try one of those myself!
Love the Star Wars-looking colors.
I didn't even believe these bikes exist outside of HD pressers. Until I've seen ONE on the street.
I hope it's affordable 🥺
🤢
Fairings cool AF but needs full sized bags tho
Hey Brandon nice review. I have a 2020 Sport Glide which has the same bags. As you say I didn’t even notice the bags, until I saw a Laidlaw video where he pointed it out. Thanks for keeping it real😎
Always!
The low riders are the shit, just wish Harley would send them with cruise control. Don't so much care for the other stuff. But with a big 5 gallon tank this thing was obviously meant for long distance and should have CC. Mind you, I'm talking about the s not the ST's. Just look at the competition, the Indian Chief they all come with CC.
I'd be curious to know if the ST harness/control cluster would work on the S. Same bike, right?
@@BrandonBicasso it can, the part is $250 and is interchangeable between the low riders.
Havent watched a vid in a minute..its finally nice enough to ride around here..looks like a nice bike they killed the sportglide to release this. 2 into1 exhaust from the sportglide could have worked they already put the sportglide bags on there...aug 7 HD test your metal in manitoba hopefully I get to ride it !
Def get a ride on it when you can! Curious on what everyone else thinks.
Great review! I have a 2021 Sport Glide and had the opportunity to ride a 2022 Lowrider ST for a week a few days ago. I did not want to give it back!
Heck yeah. It really is a solid machine. I'd consider one.
Muscle bikes with hard bags are where it's at.
Thx. Brandon! That was cooool! Love that bike! Bless you brother!
💪🏾!
I get around the music control’s with my Apple Watch and the end of my nose🤘
You Rebel!
I want that front fairing on the softail sport glide
Good review, Grey seems to be the must have colour these days.
Did I forget to mention that the road glide and the other touring bikes also give you that feeling on the freeway? It’s taken me years to finally find the ultimate ride. Just my opinion Brandon. First thing I did to my road king was replace the windshield with a fairing by Memphis shades. The low rider ST was designed for heavy riders as well. So glad you got the chance to ride it.
AHT AHT. You’re getting too close to bagger there! NOPE.
Great review!! Cheers from Cali !
Her two wheels was on a Softail Standard not a Street Bob I don't know why she kept saying it and now you're saying it was a Streetball too they're basically the same bike but not
You wanna fight about it? 👀 I got gloves ready. 🧤
Really digged your straightforward reviewing style and cover
😎🤟🏾
I'd love to try one of those! To me it's like the perfect bike! Just don't understand only 2 colors.
Mostly because that’s what the Low Rider market buys most.
Bro you excel in doing reviews ! keep em coming !
Like the old fxr fairing
I feel you, I ride in a club and one of few that ride without windshields and fairings... something about that wind that I don't want to give it up!
My sore neck after trying to keep up with touring bikes made me give it up 😂😂
Thanx Brandon for the Low Rider review
my indian chieftain with only 1200 mile has a whine more noticeable on hot days today it squealed on down hill slowing for a tight narrow corner just yards form home was 88F have fresh indian oil i added STP pure silicon to aid oils lubrication ,,i know no one with an indian thunderstroke and dealership say its normal ? form time to time i ride a 1997 XLH 883 which is to me one of the best Harley's not for power but for reliability longevity and a Solid MotorCycle.
and if u tune them they wizzZ-along nicely in town n tight spots. Tink 🏴☠🍀

thanx for the update
Bruh I truly like your content and your delivery. You started out on the Indian scout doing your own thing and now they fly you out to different cities to ride! Man how can I follow in your footsteps?
Ayeee, thanks for the words! Quickest way to start is picking up your phone and filming your adventures. I'd say start off sharing your story and go from there. Gotta have a love for creating first, though. It can easily get overwhelming if you ever feel like you have to create a video. Always here if you wanna chat more about it. Hit me on Instagram.
Dope content once again, brother. Always enjoy the quality work from you. I lane-split all the time in CA on a Victory Cross Country a few years ago and it becomes a ballet with bags that wide, lol!
Lol it does 😂 I got used to it but man did I have some picked up moments. The roads were SUPER tight in Malibu. I put my feet down once and said naw… this might not go well.
Really love the production quality of this review! If I didn’t just buy a bike I would’ve definitely considered this.
Preciate that!
Great review. The honesty is great to hear. I wonder if ppl will take off those bags and make it a mini bagger bigger bags
Who knows. Definitely can.
I just got mine 10 days ago. I put the taller boy seat and taller windshield on it. So far so good.
How would u rate it’s nimbleness / flick ability? I do mostly city riding /lane splitting on my bolt at 550 lbs . I’m worried the st would be too heavy , but I do need more power lol
I want to know how the Low Rider S compares to the Chief Dark Horse.
Me too. MarvelKid87 dropped a video on that. ua-cam.com/video/Ts0fWqz9aA4/v-deo.html
I think the ST looks perfect, but the speedometer looks too small.
I just picked one up and thought the same but now I like it. Took about a day, I think they got it right. 👍 easy to read.
Thanks for the video. I’m tossed between the heritage classic and the low rider ST. Decisions Decisions. Anything you can say to help make my mind up lol
Depends on what type of riding you're looking to do. The classic is very capable with the chassis set up. I'm more into the styling of the ST myself tho so I'd lean more towards it, personally.
@@BrandonBicasso awesome. Probably a lot of highway riding and some twisties being that I’m in North Georgia.
Sure sounds like you did a major about-face on this bike Brandon.
(and things like you commenting on them doing wind tunnel and sound chamber testing; dude you know they do that anyway when they come out with a new model, right?) Just sounds a little fishy, that's all.)
Not really. Just going off what we were given in the press and my interpretation. Every bike may be aero tested, but not all fairings are aero or sound tested. Could be marketing bluff, but there's a major difference in how I felt riding a Heritage Classic compared to the ST. That's why I gave my experience versus leaving it all to specs. Can't please everyone when it comes to a ride review but I do my best to give an experience on it versus rehashing what everyone else is saying.
Comparing the Nightster to the Scout for instance. That's the difference in making a fairing for a bike versus taking one off the shelf and fitting it to a bike. While it worked on Scout, the implementation felt like the latter.
I liked how it looked at first, I was sitting there like yep, this may be a chief killer. But seeing it more and more now I'm like meh. I test drove the new 22 Street Glide ST, that 117 is smooth, but feels completely inferior to the Indian challenger, as well as the chiefs that I've ridden, and the 111 thunderstrokes. It just felt lifeless to me, like not American, not like a HD should feel.
I have a super chief limited you can change music from the left controls and you can also do it with the chief darkhorse
That’s pure nonsense! That 117 is much more powerful and efficient than any Indian engine!

What is the largest size allowable for the rear tire with a stock fender ‘22 Indian Chief DH. Great vid. Can’t want until the final reveal. I’m one of the people that have one on order and I’m still waiting :)
My guess is a 200 which is on my own. 210 is pushing it if it fits along with the swing arm clearance.
@@BrandonBicasso thank you
You guys are making me want a Low Rider ST lol.
Lol, I wouldn’t commend it if I didn’t like it. Hard to find a bike I don’t like these days but I will definitely say whether or not it’s for me. I got this one wrong. It’s hella comfortable and the star is that fairing.
Love the open minded perspective you have man. Ride safe.
You too! 🤟🏾
Great review man
My dream bike
Great video, i have watched multiple videos on the Low Rider ST, I havent heard anyone mention the Aerodynamics that went into the fairing.
Biggest thing that stood out to me. 🤌🏾
@@BrandonBicasso yea I would think Harley would advertise that
Nice review. What stands out to me is the AMF HD (and Kawasaki KZ1000) style wheels of the late 70s. I am a fan of those and that era in general. No computers, no EFI, no fuel pumps, no ABS, no fobs, etc. Just honest motorcycles. Nothing more, nothing less than they promised to be.
you forget all the times they shut down in rain and failed spark plugs and points. Tool bag had always the best seat on the ride. LOL, but yes, I do miss those old bikes, and I just restored a 1973 Suzuki.
@@norseman5041
I knew somebody would go there! Enjoy that Suzuki. My old girls are a hotrod 71 Honda CB350 twin, 77 KZ1000A, a 79 Garelli Gransport moped, and an 85 Kawi 750 turbo. My newest bike is 2003 Suzuki SV1000S....

Does it feel more powerful than the M109r
Off the line, comparable. Has about the same torque specs as the 109 but 100 pounds less weight.
@@BrandonBicasso : I have my dad's 78 low rider
damn bro, you really going to make me trade in my stealth grey indian chief??
Lol, I wouldn't go that far unless you want more highway comfort. Suspension isn't a strong suit on Chief, but it's not awful. Compared to ST, however... there's a noticeable difference not even including the fairing.
@@BrandonBicasso i'm just teasing haha. it's not starting though, and the voltage is reading a cool 12.5V on the battery with a full tank of gas tank.. so until my dealer can bring it in to solve this scooby doo mystery, I'm back on my harley 🤘
Battery could need to be charged. I had some issues with mine even though it read fully charged. Had to get a deep cycle charge on it.
I have the predecessor, a '21 Sport Glide. It has the bags that are the same size. It also has a "bikini" fairing that is removable. Do not like the big ugly fairing on the ST
