Out of the box ride ability is much more important to me then the party scene. I’m not a pack rider. I’d go with Indian. Basically you just convinced me the Indian is the way for me to go!

I think I remember the Challenger was on loan from the factory. I also remember that Harley, instead of giving Adam time to heal from his injury and putting his contract on hold, dumped Adam on his ass as soon as they caught wind that he couldn't be there poster boy anymore. I've been at brand-loyal Harley-Davidson rider for 20 years and that alone made me consider getting a challenger at the beginning of next year

I was intrigued with your commentary on the Harley Road-glide versus the Indian challenger. I too am a Harley guy and have been for years. However, you have placed many extra dollars into that Harley to get it to where you want it to be. The Harley and the Indian challenger are pretty close in the cost out the door but Indian offers much more for the dollar. For example: The Indian offers electronic locks on the saddlebags, electric windshield, and a mono shock system which provides a much smoother ride, much better lighting system right out the door and as you said they are pretty fast right from the factory.
Honda Yamaha Kawasaki have been building smaller bikes for kids for years. As these kids get older they buy a little bigger bike because these companies have them ready for them right now. When the kids become adults they don’t even think about looking for a Harley because they have not grown up with the love affair that we have for the Harley brand. They look to the companies that they’re very familiar with when they look for the big cruiser type bikes. On top of all that the younger adults today can get a full-size motorcycle from most any brand that is 40 to 50% cheaper than a Harley right from the beginning. That is a huge deal for future sales for the Harley brand. An example of Harley coming out with an all electric motorcycle but the price tag is 30 grand. Not too many young people are going to spend that kind of money just because it’s a Harley. Right now I plan to keep my 2018 street glide but next year or so if I make a change I will take a serious look at what the Indian has to offer. Dave

Adam is talking a lot about the Dealerships and family of HD. I bought a 2019 Ultra Limited and after about 10,000 miles it started knocking. HD tried everything in their power to not do the right thing and warranty the motor. HD cooperate was the problem. I have supported HD for over 20 years and taken up for them many times. The first time I has an issue the people proved me wrong. I just can't support a company that doesn't care about their customer/family any more than that. To make it worse they even made the dealership pay for half of the motor repair after the trade.
My wife and I both rode Harleys. We both ride Indians now. Between the bikes and apparel went spent tens of thousands of dollars each year. So for the cost of a motor they lost all our revenue. Don't quite understand that business logic. Everyone has a right to buy what they want, but this family stopped drinking the Kool aid.

It is all good in a country where you have dealership support. In South Africa that is 1600miles long and 1600+ miles wide, we have ONE Indian dealership. I am based 1000 miles away from that dealership. I would never be able to ride my Indian with peace of mind. We have at least 6 or 7 HD outlets in a 50 mile radius where I live. All well established and well run. Never had warrant issues with any HD outlet here. Indian just does not have the world-wide capacity that HD offers. It's OK in the USA, UK or Western Europe but here in Africa they will not survive.

I cannot fault your logic, but most people here will take it as a Harely win in an Indian cs Harely comparison. Objectively, I'd say you're making HD look bad, because you are admitting that you had to dump CVO money (and maybe more) into your Road Glide to make it a worthy comparison to the Challenger.

If you are looking for a truly better touring bike hands down its the Challenger. I also think you should do a drag race pitting each bike against each other before you let the Challenger go and see which one is actually faster, I have a hard time believing the Roadglide is actually faster.

Brother I love what your doing for fellow veterans. Respectfully the only reason you chose that Road Glide is because you had to put all of the aftermarket parts on it and beef the engine up to do what the Indian does stock. You need to link up with Lloyd’s and see what he does for Indians. This is the first year for that motor wait til he or Andrews makes cams for that a tuner and other things it will smoke that HD. This is one of the reasons Indian does not need a lot of aftermarket parts. I had two Harley’s and my 18 Vintage is the only bike I don’t need or want to put a bunch of stuff on it. As far as the community if they judge you for the bike you ride then they aren’t people I need or want around me. It’s all about the 2 wheel community. I think you should have kept the Challenger to many potential opportunities in the future for that motor. But I will still watch for the Chieftain videos and other things you do. Also work with Ciro 3 to make more stuff for the Indian.

I think you had a concise breakdown of pros and cons for each bike and ultimately comfort based on the customization you have done to the Road Glide won out. I know this is was a very hard choice, because a lot of your subscriber base are brand specific riders, and in a world were majority usually wins you made the right choice. But in keeping multiple brands in your garage you still offer those other riders unbiased comparison views. As a HD Street Glide rider, I only hope HD brings some of the new technology shown in the Indian to their platform of bikes. Keep up the great work.

in my opinion, you chose wisely. It IS about the culture if you plan on riding with or catering to people.
I use to own a VTX1300C honda. It is a Great bike but theres no feeling of family except on Internet forums. No honda dealer will make you feel as welcomed as a Harley dealer will , in my opinion . Honda makes a great scoot, ...BUT”... I have a far superior time on my 99’ Ultra Classic due to ,everywhere i go, I’m part of a family!! And that IS due to the Harley-Davidson culture. They’re welcoming to you no matter which bike you own!
Ride into my local store or one two states away, and you get the same welcoming feeling.
Indian makes an incredibly beautiful bike. Solid, well made machine . BUT the FAMILY feeling just ain’t there. (In my opinion )
Enjoy The Road Glide, and safe travels......

Indian rider here, but I completely understand your position. You’ve already put a lot of money into the HD to customize it the way you want it. The culture and support for Indian is not the same for Harley and you will need that when putting 40k on the road. But, I’m glad you were being a “rider” when you made your comparison. Indian will eventually provide more options than they do. When that happens, you might have more to contemplate...

Get the culture bit, but a wholly personally customized HD vs a stock Challenger doesn’t really tell anyone how much it cost to get your HD to a level that would get you to chose it over the Indian.

I really appreciate your videos, especially this video. The point that resonates with me most is the more bang for your buck right from the dealership. I’m just a motorcycle enthusiast and rider. I don’t have a lot of money. But when I buy I look for my money to go a long way. I will definitely be purchasing the Indian Challenger. I ride alone due to my work schedule. I feel immersed in the greater motorcycle culture. And Indian motorcycle culture is continuing to grow. Thanks again. Be safe in your continued adventures. Blessings.

I think you choice was very intelligent. You can’t replace the Harley support and culture. I truly hope Harley takes note that the Indian is a superior bike and makes some huge upgrades. The culture of Harley can only hold on so long if they continue to be outperformed. I would be interested in you riding an electric bike for a while and giving us an honest view of practicality.

I'm all about my Springfield Darkhorse..... And you should reevaluate the power. I don't see how 114 air-cooled bike can make more power then a 108 liquid cooled.... And as for customisation there are 1/2 a dozen custom shops out there making beautiful parts for the Indians.... Giving s shout out to KST customs. All and all I was looking forward to seeing you're channel this summer on the challenger, and seeing what customisations you come up with for it.... Guess not now. I can tell I don't want to see ANOTHER Harley rider this summer on UA-cam. There are way too many....

Adam, first, as a Harley enthusiast, I would love to see you get hold of Harley's Pan America Adventure bike when it rolls out later this year. That would open up a whole new world for you, your followers & your channel.
Second, what you are doing with Kriver and veterans is very special. I know it is a big headache but it would be nice to raffle the Challenger and use the proceeds to expand/improve Kriver as well as donate to programs assisting our first responders & wounded veterans. Causes like these are even more critical in times like we now find ourselves.
Thanks for what you do. Keep up the great work and safe travels.

I understand your choice but your next bike should be something small and sporty. I sugest the 2020 Indian scout bobber. Super light easy to manuver and with upgrades really quick. I live in the mountains and this bike handles very well. There is only 2 upgrades being air intake and 2 into 1 pipe but combined it gives 10% more HP. I've got the OD Green one and love it.

guysmiley his 2017 is already out of his factory warranty so that’s not applicable. Plus with his 2017 starting out as a 107” it had the 4-3/8” stroke so he can’t convert to the131”. He could do the 128” kit from HD though and get very comparable numbers with a good cam and tune.

Hey Adam, Here Carlos from Mexico City my man, I guess you took a wise decision for your particular purpose, your amazing channel, but I think is just a bit bittersweet one because, Harley Davidson let you down when you most needed them, and I don't think the brand deserves your loyalty, but... you have put a ton of work on that beautiful Road Glide, so enjoy your decision and your effort. And this is all you not the Harley Davidson brand, so once again enjoy the ride.

Brother for you I think you are making the absolute best decision. For me on the other hand, a guy that has been rocking a 99 roadking for the past 20yr. I am going with the Challenger because it's right up there with the hoggs and for a trucker like me that just wants to come home and unwind with the wifey on the back and wants the best bang for my buck stock, I may do a little tinkering here and there but after getting used to the looks, I like the feel and fit of the Challenger as is. Already have financing lined up, just waiting to see if I can get a little bit of a better deal here I. A month or so since the economy is about to decline a bit.

Love your channel bro. I was once a Harley owner, but my heart is with Honda and Kawasaki. That being said, you did what you felt was right for you. That's way cool. My garage has my 2008 750 Honda Shadow Aero, 2011 Kawasaki Vulcan Vaquero 1700 full dressed and my 2019 Can Am Ryker 900. I just love riding motorcycles. Been riding since 1982. Started out with a new, 1981 Honda CB650. I might get another Harley just to have, but I needed dependability that my 2005 Harley Sportster 883 didn't have. Keep those videos coming my friend. I love em all.
