Your video really helped me set this up! Thank you Mike! The only difference it’s 2023 and it cost $25 for the unit from T-Mobile to get it. Where I live where I only had one bar for six months and drive cause kept dropping so I called T Mobile and they sent me the CellSpot. It is supposed to have a video attached to it but that was not working and they said I probably didn’t need it but honestly after talking to T Mobile a few times even though they were trying to be helpful your video was much easier to follow.☺️👍🏼
Glad it worked out for you, sometimes all you need is just a little extra direction to make things go smoothly, happy to help. Thank you for commenting, and Liking, and subscribing!
UPDATE: STILL INSTALLED AND STILL WORKING I LOVE NOT DROPPING ANY CALLS ANYMORE, PLEASE SUBSCRIBE AND LIKE AND COMMENT, THANKS FOR WATCHING, MIKE
Yea but for 2022, T-Mobile inventory of these are coming direct from China, so they are basically non existent this year supply-wise. I know someone who ordered on in May 2022, and now it is end of July 2022, but received nothing yet.
@@utubestalker.dotcom i think it is worth the wait... this thing works great for me! i do mention at the end of the video that according to T-Mobile each CellSpot must be registered to the residential address on your bill, and only used at that address, so if you move and change your address, the cellspot gets re assigned your new address, so it goes with you. Oh and thanks for subscribing, and liking, and commenting, i have subscribed to your channel alson
Great review, especially, the instructions on the set-up and cable, that is, rolling up the antenna cable line...
Yess, funny, i wasnt going to have that thing running around my dining room looking ugly, and once i figured out it still worked jammed under the furniture, i was good to go, thanks for commenting liking and subscribing, oh and i subscribed to your channel also, thanks, Mike
Great video. I installed my cell spot just like you instructed but ALL THE LIGHT ARE NOT LIGHTING UP...Only 3 lights. Not sure what's wrong with mines?
thanks for subscribing, liking, and commenting, i have subscribed to your channel also... perhaps you should try starting over from the connection phase and follow the instructions again.., i know my cell spot took about 22 minutes to connect, maybe you should start over, be patient, it may take a while to connect, in fact if it has been plugged in this whole time, maybe take a look and see if its connected, but if not then try starting over by unplugging and disconnecting everything then start from the beginning and try connecting, hope this helps, good luck, Pipefittermike
@@pipefittermike636 mine took about 45 mins it went thru an update.. before starting.. this might help.. they say sometimes it could take a few hours.!!😵💫👀👍

If you start a call on the mini tower and then leave your house will the call get passed over to a regular cell phone tower or will the call just drop?
The call definitely transfers over to the next nearest operating tower… thanks for subscribing, commenting, and liking, I appreciate it!!
Just ordered mine today
Good Luck with your install, i know things will work out for ya, for me, i just couldnt stand to drop anymore calls, omg, and this really did the trick. thanks again for subscribing, commenting, and liking the video, i really appreciate it, and i have subscribed to your channel also, Pipefittermike
Any update if you are still using it. Thanks for any update.
OKAY!! JUST LOOKED AT MY PHONE, AND I STILL HAVE THE 4 BARS ON MY IPHONE THAT I GOT THE DAY DAY I INSTALLED MY T MOBILE CELL SPOT, YES, ITS STILL IN OPERATION AND STILL WORKING, AND TO THIS DAY I STILL HAVE NOT DROPPED A SINGLE PHONE CALL SINCE I INSTALLED IT!!! THANKS FOR LOOKING, SUBSCRIBING AND LIKING MY VIDEO I APPRECIATE IT!!
What if you have no bars at all? (Phone is showing SOS). Will this cell spot still work? Is the antenna to receive or send out the signal?
WOW, THATS A GOOD QUESTION, I never heard of sos on a phone before....the antenae is a mini cell phone tower, not sure about the nuances of the device itself, but you might have to have a signal to begin with..... hmmm...... it did say it is for weak cell phone signals.... i am just not sure if it will work when there is no signal to boost, if i was to answer i would say if you dont have any cell signal to begin with then you probably arent going to boost anything.... sorry , but that is just my opinion, and sorry i took so long to answer, Mike.
Thanks for subscribing, liking, and commenting, i do appreciate it, pipefittermike
I have a non-contract prepaid carrier that utilizes the T-Mobile network. Do you know if I need to be an actual T-Mobile customer for this to work?
Wow, Thats a good question, i will take a guess here, if you are are not an actual t-mobil customer, i dont see how you can get it to begin with? Maybe call your carrier and ask them if there is anything they can do for a poor signal? I wish i had the answer...... but calling them might get ya somewhere, hope this helps, Mike
Amazon sells them.
It should still work. I am about to order one for Google Fi, which also uses t-mobile towers.
Will this help me in a mobile home with metal siding? I only have one bar at all times.
Well i dont know.... however if you call t-mobile and your phone contract is with them, you can probably get it free and delivered for free, and you can figure if it works yourself, with minimal work, it worked for me immediately ..... Good Luck, i would try it, what have you got to lose, hope this helps, Mike
+1 on Michael's recommendation.
@@chuckhortler2814 glad it worked out for you, Mike
Do these work for all t mobile bands? If I buy one 2nd hand, will it still work?
WOW, thats a good question, but remeber i got this from t mobile directly for nothing, so i dont know how you can buy one used, t mobile sent a disclaimer sheet with it that says if you cancel your contract with them you have to return it or be charged.... they didnt say how much or whatever, but i would imagine its kinda like using a cable box from your cable provider, you have to turn it in when you cancel or quit or be charged for the box.....hmmmm. Oh and also mine works with my I phone XR, so that is an old phone already, i think its old tech now.. and its still working, so if you find a used one, i would say it will probably work, good luck anyway, hope it turns out for you, thanks, Mike
according to Tmo each cellspot must be registered to the residential address on your bill, and only used at that address. Cost of cellspot if charged is greater than $400. It works with all devices that run on the Tmobile network as far back as an iPhone SE 2016
Does this device plug right in to my T-Mobile mini tower via Ethernet cable?
Im not sure i understand the question..... because this device is the T-Mobile mini tower.... it does however plug int your router... hope that helps, thanks for subscribing, commenting and liking, Pipefittermike on you tube....
Can you use the 4g booster with 5g home internet?
yes. the "g's" are not directly related! 5g home internet is a 5Ghz signal broadcast from your internet router.
4g is 4th generation (roughly... I don't think they use normal people math in counting "generations") cellular service. 4G operates at 700 MHz-2500 MHz frequency ... 4G LTE may operate at higher frequencies in some of the hybrid deployments from various carriers.
the cell spot is broadcasting a cellular native signal to your phone. You don't have to turn on wifi on your phone to get signal when you're close enough to this device and it's connected to your internet (hardwire, ethernet cable hooks to the Cell Spot). You're not connecting to the cell spot over wifi.
Went from (1) bar to (5) bars BAM! Order one now.
and its free.....!!
@@michaelmason636Exactly!
Does the cellspot help with text messages
i would imagine so, but i am not technical enough to understand how.... hmmm i am gonna say if it comes across the signal on your phone then its all about the cell signal, and thats what the cell spot is all about, improving your cell signal.... thanks for commenting and liking and subscribing i appreciate it , and i have subscribed to your channel, Mike
How does this help when I’m in the car or going for a walk
this will not help if you are in your car or going for a walk, it only helps your signal at your house, if you get dropped calls at your house, this will make your signal at your house better, no where else..... sorry......
Unplug the wires and take with you in car or on walk. 😂
I just bought me a cell booster for whole house because of Wi-Fi go down you are back with no signal or weak signal
How long does it take for all the lights to jump on ?
Up to 2 hours
@@RasLn it took mine to connect about 22 minutes. thanks for asking

a few hours (Sep 2022, model: 4G LTE v2 )
Depends on your Internet connection 😂
u did not speedtest to know if it really have an effect.
Does it use your home internet ?
No, it uses your closest cell tower and turns itself into a mini cell tower…. It is to increase your cell phone signal…!
Just got box today & with no freaking instructions geez
OMG, this is exactly what you tube is for..... glad to see some one can actually use this video, hope it helped and thanks for watching, liking and subscribing, i appreciate it, and i have subscribed to your channel, good luck, Mike
Bcoz of this our regular internet speed decreases ??
Not sure why that is happening…. Hmmm… I checked mine in several different situations…and the internet speed is always the same… I wish I knew why this would be happening, but I can explain it…. Perhaps check all your cables, make sure they are the latest, or get some newer ones, I know it sounds ridiculous, but this has happened to me before, on hard drives, on cameras etc… sorry, I hope this helps!!!
You should do a speed test AFTER you have disabled your Home Wifi. I am returning the one i ordered for a refund. To Me its just a Wifi Router using your home Internet. They misleading everyone with the Name of it -- it should be called T-Mobile Home Wifi Router, NOT Cellspot Booster.
Sorry it didnt work out for you, but i love mine, i went from 1 bar to all the bars and i am happy, however i never disabled my home wi fi and my router is still fully functional, not sure what you got, if it looks identical or what, but my Cell Spot wouldnt work without my router and my cable box............oh well, sorry you didnt have a good experience like i did, but thanks for commenting and thanks for subscribing and liking, i have subscribed to your channel, Pipefittermike PS i have done a speed test on my laptop hooked up to my internet, it is identical from when i started 5mbps down, 25 mbps up , hope this helps with something
Why do you say 5 bars when clearly its 4 bars. You went from 2 to four bars.
this one is not good, because It borrows your internet router and made mini cell tower in your house, It is strong signal and data ( using your internet high speed ). that way, the strong signal can go far way to your neighborhood over 3000 sq feet , they can use your internet free by signal booster without security password , that mean is everyone close to your house using your internet for free by their cell phone, and they can made hot spot and using whole house for free
REPEATED.....Sorry no offense, but you are wrong..... i spoke to the t mobile tech rep, and he had plenty of time to have me perform a few tests on my internet to debunk, your theory and he would like to know where you got this false information from...(just send a link to where this information is on the internet and i will forward it to him..... okay...) for the first test he had me check my internet at the house, my speed is only about 10 mbps and i checked it with High Speed Internet.com, my upload was 11.42 mbps and my download was 59.02 mbps, he then had me drive what i felt was about 2000 square feet away from my house with my laptop, where i tried to access the internet and it would not connect, it didnt mater anyway i noticed once i pulled out of the driveway it disconnected, so no internet. He then had me delete my connection at the 2000 square foot mark and try to find it to connect. No luck not only could i not connect, but there was no connections shown on my laptop for my internet, but i did see all the neighbors connections and they were all locked and required a password, he then had me drive back home, i pulled in the driveway where he had me look for my internet, i found it and it also was locked and required me to put in my password, which at this point totally debunks your claim that anybody can use my internet, he next had me check my phone signal, which was at full bars, then he had me drive, out to about 2500 square feet away from my house where the bars went down to 2 bars, proving that the cell spot was a major improvement. He did also mention that i will never get more download or upload speed from my cable provider unless i pay for it, and right now, i am paying for the cheapest slowest internet possible here in the state of Michigan, which is 55 dollars a month with taxes and service fees. It is a good thing i am retired or i would never had time to talk to the t-mobile representative. Good luck with improving your signal and dont forget to send a link from the site you got your info from, Thanks,Mike
My yellow card isn’t in my box
PS thanks for liking, commenting and subscribing, I appreciate it, Mike
Why use it though? If you have bad service you can use Wi-Fi for internet, and turn on Wi-Fi calls and texts
I don't get text messages and wifi calling even has been spotty (with WiFi preferred).
@@Briaaanz yes, true, and not everyone can get thru if you have only wi fi calling going on...
iPhones only have 4 bars !.
YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY CORRECT, I WAS SO EXCITED WHEN I GOT THIS TO WORK SO MUCH SO THAT I DIDNT LOOK REALLY CLOSE ON THE PHONE, YOU KNOW US OLD GUYS GOTTA GET OUR FACES ON TOP OF THINGS TO SEE THEM.....LOL THANKS FOR LIKING, COMMENTING AND SUBSCRIBING, I REALLY APPRECIATE IT, MIKE
At my home I don't have any bars of tmobile
Im not sure what you are asking?? Do you have T Mobile, what celll phone service are you using? Again, i dont know what your question is? sorry i couldnt help....
I don't know why they don't just increase the power of there signals from there towers I never had a problem when sprint was my carrier for my senor cell services
I agree with you on that, put up more towers in rural areas. Whenever I visit family that lives in the country, they don't have internet services because it's not available and i get maybe 1 bar if I'm lucky. I normally have to drive like 3 minutes away before i get more then 1 bar
What's the point of it using a internet connection when all phone by today support wifi calling lol like seriously
The point is... if you have crappy cell phone reception, you cant get good wi fi calling, it cuts out or drops, just like your phone calls with crappy reception, they keep dropping because of crappy reception in your area. This is where this cell spot comes in handy, especially if you have crappy reception at your house location, which i did, and boy was my wife mad when she kept talking to her sister and the calls who drop every few minutes, thats why i called T Mobil and they told me about this. After my install i went from 1 bar to 4 bars on my signal, and its worked perfectly ever since....hope this helps... thanks for subscribing, liking and commenting, and i have subscribed to your channel also, thanks,Mike
@@michaelmason636 but the thing connects to your home internet meaning it requires it so if you don't have internet at your house you can't use that device which also defeats the purpose of wifi calling
@@theanimeotaku2794 You are absolutely right....if you dont have the internet, or a router, this will not work for you.... i am sorry, but i dont know of another way to improve your signal for your phone, what this box did was create a psudo cell tower and used the internet signal to create it. Good luck, let me know if there is another way, thanks,Mike
Or t mobile could just do a better job, like spectrum does
Spectrum didn't work for us. No combination of their router or our router and iphones/androids worked well for us with calling over wifi on spectrum. Even Texting was super unreliable depending on where you were in the house and how the phone had connected to the wifi router.
This Cell Spot device is a huge improvement. We switched 2 phones from Verizon and 1 from Spectrum (which is a Verizon MVNO) to T-Mobile + this device. We knew coming in that there was no T-Mobile signal at our house so they threw in the Cell Spot and told us to try it out.
Got mine yesterday Had 1 to 2 bars no w full signal ♥️♥️ Note They now ask for a $25 deposit which you get back if you send it back, but who would want to
Wow, great you got it and it worked.... kinda crappy you had to pay 25 dollars though, but the good thing is all is well in the good signal department, thanks for watching, liking, subscribing, and commenting, thanks, Mike
So you’re providing the data through your internet connection? And now any T-Mobile user within 3,000 square feet can use your cell tower. But you are paying for the data used to your internet provider. Good deal for T-Mobile maybe not so good for you?
No... apparently i have not explained this well...... in a nut shell its as if i have a cell tower appear at my house location, just like any other cell tower, you need a phone to access it that has a phone number, just like any other cell tower once you drive away from it, or out of range, you hook up to the next closest one. My cell tower is only accesable by phones that are in the 3000 ft range, and right now i know none of my neighbors within that range are with t mobile, and on the south west and east is the lake that i live on so nobody else even hooks up on my tower, yes its a good deal for tmobile because now one of their customers gets 5 bars were before he only got 1, so yes i wont have to sign up with sprint or verizon now. and i dont pay for anybody elses cell use but my own which is 60 dollars flat rate, no extra charge fees a month for two phones from t mobile, and they just gave me one year of Apple tv fro a year, i think its great, and no dropped calls
@BeholdHimNow yes, that would be a valid security issue for anyone who lives in a congested area. Any pedestrian walking or driving within range can use your internet. Just think if someone was using one of these in an apartment, everyone using Tmo service would automatically connect to cellspot because of the high gain. Anyone streaming video off UA-cam will be using that person's internet. If one person uses 2gb streaming and there is 1,000's of other people that do the same, that can really mess you up. Probably better to invest in a repeater/amplifier than an ethernet microcell. That must be the reason why Tmo decided to sell them to people rather than have people rent them. You own it, so you use it at your own risk. (I should note that because the microcell is registered to your address, the internet used is not against your internet service but your Tmobile cellular subscription service. So if you have 50gb high speed on 5G and unlimited 2G data, other people in congested areas will use up your monthly high speed internet on your Tmo cell plan quick)
@@utubestalker.dotcom i am thinking that most of the places you would need this cell spot is going to be a rural area like i am in, with about 8 houses within my 3000 square foot range or in a country setting, these places dont have a close cell tower, whereas in the city like an apartment bldg. you probably are already getting a good signal because thats where they place the cell towers, in the most populated areas, just a logical thought i guess, doesnt mean its true, but what would be the point of placing a cell tower in the country? thats why cities get the cell towers, most people, thanks again for the comments, really interesting, thanks, Mike
Somewhere in the disclaimers it mentions this... it's meant for rural users with no signal near them but have hardwire internet service. really works well for us after years of limping along with calling over wifi. No combination of routers seemed to help our situation trying to do calling over wifi. A couple of older phones would not work at all. Spectrum told us that Verizon in particular would not allow unlocked phones to do calling over wifi. Sure enough a brand new Note 10+ had to be sent back in 2020 because calling over wifi woudl not work on the unlocked phone. A Samsung S21 5G from Verizon would at least allow calling and texting to work at all but it was not consistent and so we continued searching for a better solution.
@@chuckhortler2814 it is nice to sit back and think " ahhh.... now i dont have to worry about my cell phone signal anymore, i can talk to whoever i want for as long as i want and no dropped calls yessssssss......
