I have been using a Wilson Cellular Booster for over ten years. My newer one is like the rest, Wilson wrote the book on increasing Cellular signal gain. My booster works well from anywhere in my Explorer and also works well within a few hundred feet from the vehicle, outside of the vehicle. Trick is getting the right Antennas.. Thanks

Agree wholeheartedly. I put Wilson cellular boosters in our company field trucks and a few cars around 2010-2012. The difference in performance was very noticeable. Driving through the Rockies for a business trip, I left the booster off during the trip out. I found many places- often valleys - where I had poor or no signal. On the return trip I turned the booster on and found strong signals everywhere, even in the valleys where I'd previously had no or weak signals. We've had similar results working in rural locations throughout Montana, North Dakota, Wyoming and New Mexico.

For the record, Wilson Electronics bought out zBoost (a competitor) years ago, and owns the brands: Wilson Pro, zBoost, and (you guessed it) weBoost.
When installed correctly and matched with an appropriate antenna, the higher end/industrial Wilson stuff (amp: $500-$800+, ext.ant: $200+) all works fairly well, and quite consistently.
But in my experience, the lower end weBoost/Wilson products? … well … they work about as well as you’d expect them to work if they said “D-Link” or “LinkSys” or “Belkin” on them instead of “weBoost” 😎

@@razvanafloarei6256 They help with making mobile data (eg. LTE) connections more stable but you’re not necessarily going to see more speed or faster data transfers.
If you play first-person shooters on your phone, you can expect better latency (in general) but if you’re uploading 4K video to UA-cam, a booster antenna isn’t going to cut much off of your nap time.
Of course… “Your mileage may vary.” 😕

You have all my thumbs. I've been looking for quite a long time if it's worth installing signal booster on my grandparents house, since the walls are twice as thick as regular walls. There are spots in the house with reception, but seems like for such a small coverage by the internal antenna is not worth it.

My neighbor has one, confirmed by going outside and getting the symbol above my bars, and suspiciously since then my signal is completely gone inside. Used to be perfectly fine, some small issues every once in a while, but now I have absolutely NO signal inside.
I'm currently standing outside getting eaten by mosquitoes just to be able to use my phone. Never had to do that, I USED TO BE ABLE TO PLAY GAMES ONLINE ON MY XBOX ONE, IN MY ROOM, USING MY HOTSPOT. CANT EVEN GET TEXTS ANYWHERE IN MY HOUSE NOW.
RIGHT after my neighbor gets a signal booster.
    I'm livid.

Money spent is relative. In your case it is just the cost of doing business. You must look at it in terms of the value of the service it provides. A homeowner may not see the value unless it is imperative for work or for loved ones to have consistent contact via mobile phone service. Most communication antennas are directional that carry good signal. FM broadcast line of sight. AM does not. Over-the-Air TV antenna-line-of-sight.

On my 18th year working for AT&T. If you are in a residential area just enable Wi-Fi calling on your phone. We don't even sell the repeaters anymore since you can just hand the call off to your router. None of these "boosters" are going to be great because the FCC regulates the signal output and there are strict guidelines they have to follow as to not interfere with other devices and emergency services. There is a reason the carriers pay millions of $$ to carry specific channels in each market.

Is there one that would work over about 1/4 mile? My house is down in a valley with no cell signal, but I can go up a hill a few hundred yards away, within sight of the house, and get a signal. If I could set something up on the hill and point it this way that would be fantastic.

    • @ecospider5

Get a cellular service that works over WiFi and you will be much better off. If you can only get internet over cellular than grab the cellular at the top of the hill, convert it to WiFi internet then use a directional 2.4ghz antenna to get the WiFi to your house.

Remember when ISPs were like Starbucks; seemed liked there was one on every corner......not anymore) & I pay for 1GB down/up.....which is roughly $250/month. What I get......10.9/8.2, down/up respectively. I’d say that’s sad, very sad.....but I know ppl/businesses that have it worse.

Does it work to boost internet connection on smartphone mobile data?

ATT just informed me they will no longer register non-ATT boosters. If you need a booster, you MUST use their booster through a landline internet connection or run the risk of jail time and fines.

Nice video; except for the looped background video. Extremely distracting. No like, because of it.

Maybe not in ur daily life. How would shoddy cell signal in one's house not affect daily life. Especially in North Las Vegas 1.5 miles, if that, from tower and ur phone don't ring downstairs. And u gotta go upstairs or outside to call out.

At one full minute into the video, you've yet to get to the point. I hope it gets better cause I'm looking for information not charisma. Not that you have any charisma .
