James took blues, and turned it on its head. The arrangements that he created and executed were so brilliant and influential, that even now, artists emulate his vision. Seeing him in this format really sheds a light on the soul of the man. Simple, talented, passionate, intelligent and honest. This was such an inspiring post. What an absolutely wonderful window into the godfather of soul! Thanks James.

James Brown was Not only a father of soul Music. He was Far more than people can imagine.
He was Unique in every way possible. He gave more to charity than any Other star. Elvis was also very generous (but with his friends mostly) James Brown came from a really poor background. he had Nothing accept his God given talent he was born with.
you all should do a bit of a research on this Great Human being.
No one can Ever replace James Brown. He was One of a Kind.
May he rest in Peace under God's wings.

Not only is the music of previous decades so much different, but the contrast between personalities and the way that artists presented and expressed themselves in the past was vastly more interesting. There seems to be a connection between creativity and social behavior. And I think that it's evident when you look at the musical geniuses of the 60's and 70's who offered insightful, genuine anecdotes and the pop stars of today who open their mouths and say nothing.

James Brown would not have been invited to perform at the White House today, that's for sure. His philosophies do not comport with Barrack's. Now if instead his speech was of a kind that stoked the fires of anarchy as a reaction to black people's concerns, that would get him a statue on the White House lawn, dedicated by Mr. O'Bama in today's America.
Great men have no need for prompters or loaded gibberish. They just exude greatness, because that's who they are. I never saw James Brown perform in person, but he remains one of my heroes; for his music and his leadership.

It's so hard and sad the life james brown had to live , than selling himself only losing everything he had for someone else to enjoy wow.

Just saw the James Brown movie "Get On Up" and it was good. Chadwick Boseman did a good job playing James Brown...the dancing was good even though he couldn't out dance James.

@crazydaysful.....I think Chadwick Boseman did an EXCELLENT job portraying James Brown, as well as his execution of Mr. Brown's very, difficult dance moves. But why would you take away points and leave a negative to your comment by saying "even though he couldn't out dance James." I'm pretty sure that it's a given that no matter who they cast in the title role.....NO ONE was going to be able to outdo the original. Let's be reasonable here.

Narvelan Coleman By me saying Chadwick Boseman was a good dancer but he could not out dance James Brown was not meant to be any downgrading of Chadwick.....I was just writing that just to be writing it and it was reasonable.
