My Dad said sorry but we gotta go! We didn't want to, but had to! I am 😊 glad to see this! I missed some of the show!

UNBELIEVABLE PERFORMANCE! KING JAMES BROWN was A DYNAMITE PERFORMER! His backup DANCERS COULDN’T KEEP UP WITH HIM! The ultimate CHOREOGRAPHER! NOBODY THEN, or NOW, or in the near FUTURE, could out dance JAMES BROWN, PERIOD! GOSPEL, COUNTRY, SOUL SINGER at his BEST! May he rest in peace, UNIVERSALLY MISS, AND NEVER FORGOTTEN!
James brown was ideally a musical iconic genius. He made music that was appealing to the ears.Crossing over intro several genre.whether funk soul jazz or Pop classic. He made his band into well dressed and coordinate professional players. He was pure genius.
I do agknowledge that, i see where hiphop taken its influence from, but hiphop has negative vibes while this music has positive vibes. I prefer funk/soul music over hiphop easily. Ofcourse James Brown is legendary, rappers are no match to his charisma. Just my opinion.
@@WildBoy4FunTime true/real HipHop is positive. It wasn't til the late 80's when HipHop started to change it's message. There's still some positive HipHop out here. I think you're referring to rap music, now that's trash my friend.
@@WildBoy4FunTime Hip Hop and rappin was positive at first. When it went mainstream around the late 80s early 90s with the introduction of Gangsta-Rap, that's when all went downhill. It's a shame really.
None of you sound you know what you're talking about in regards to hip-hop. James Brown was sampled widely throughout the 1980s in hip-hop, but his music was not used since then and modern hip-hop is closer to electronic music than to funk and soul. Hip-hop has many forefathers and inspirations. It is an amalgamation of the cultural knowledge of an entire people, namely black Americans. It is still evolving to this day and has never stopped evolving. To claim otherwise is simply an ignorant statement. Yes, James Brown had a massive influences on hip-hop, but in the same way he had a massive influence on all modern American popular music genres. Blues and Funk are at the core of most of them.
From Kansas City on, this is the funkiest thing I think I've ever seen or heard! James is at the peak of his powers here - his vocals, his moves, and his rhythmic energy defined funk for generations to come! His band is jam-packed with jazz talent, and he lets them blow at length! For James Brown at his finest, you need look no further than this!!!
How in God's name does this Audio mix live sound better than ANYTHING recorded Now? So big and warm, and so well balanced instrument to instrument... Give me Old analog any day. For those in the know.

Years ago I was listening to Chris Rock talk about the Black Experience in America on the the WTF podcast with Marc Maron. He said, almost as a throw-away line, "There's nobody Blacker than James Brown." I think of that quote every time I watch or listen to the Godfather of Soul.
James Brown & The Famous Flames! This show . Los músicos mexicanos tocamos sus temas porque estaban llenas de ritmo muy especial que prendió a la humanidad de todo el planeta tierra. Estampa Rock Colección hace un grandioso homenaje a la leyenda, legado, icono de la música universal.
The thing the new kids don't realize is there was just no Freedom like this. this was the Breakout. With people like Jimi Hendrix JB Tina Turner a Renaissance. Let this be an inspiration to the new ones and there are a few. Soul brothers and sisters paved the way.
Omg, best version, 10 minutes long, of Its a Mans World! I stood right under him, before there were barriers in front of the stage, when he did a concert in Munich 1973. His sweat rained down on me every few minutes! Amazing times!
He was incredible! This is 1968 a time of war and terrible racial tensions. JB was able to rise above it all and unite society with music. Simply astonishing!
Damn, there is no doubt A LOT of recent artists, dead or alive got their styles and sound from JB. He most definitely created a whole new genre of music in his time that lives on today in many artists. Amazing natural talent, he was. Him and his band were tight as a drum and funky as hell. No one can compare JB to anyone before or after him. He was in a league of his own, only to be modeled after. Thanks for the upload. What a treat.
I totally agree I saw this performance I was blown away I seen a little bit of him and every artist after him like a tiny bit of him everywhere like he’s legendary when do people speak in high volumes And not to mention diverse that’s when you know you got a legend on your hands you seen music genius he loses himself in that music boy wonderful to watch so natural naturally inclined thank you UA-cam
I had the pleasure of watching him perform 4 times in 1 week in 2004, he was still absolutely fantastic. He had 3 female dancers in their 20's and he outdanced them, they were blowing hard and he was still going strong
James Brown is the best in the world everybody learn from him he is the soul motivated the spiritual originator there is nothing like James Brown and his band listen to him he gets every action of sweat nevertheless he is the best James Brown show the world that you can be what you want to be love you again k a n n a always and forever young man
Got my headphones in couple rolled enjoying the vybez. Timeless classic. You hear that loads of genre's of music was born from this. Got to respect it. 😤💨💨💨💯💯👊🏾👊🏾
This man was a genius. He knew if he started his shows in Europe the same way he did in the USA, it might not work as well. Tone down the MC intro, start with familiar songs...slowly funk them up as you play and he owned that audience. Having what had to be best touring band of the 60's is also pretty fortunate too. Thank you so much for posting!
I remember a old friend told me that he went to a James Brown concert in 66,he was in boot camp and him and his buddy were the only white guys at the show. He said it was the best show he ever saw. I think Mississippi.
Over my life I have seen a lot of great James Brown performances on film, but this maybe the BEST which is saying a lot. Poppa Got A Brand New Bag was off the charts AMAZING!!! HEAVEN SENT.
James ranks as one of the best artist in America. Fact. He is sampled beyond belief. He was instrumental in civil rights. James prevented riots. He was gold but he was a product of his era.
In 1968 the entire James Brown experience perforned in a NHL hockey arena in Toronto. What a night! It was imposible to hear much, but the sight of 20 or so thougholy rehearsed elegantly dressed people playing "for the people" is as fresh in my minds eye today as it was over half a century ago. Watching a Frank Sinatra concert on You Tube recently reminded me of that night, Why does Frank Sinatra play the biggest venues in the world and Mr Brown, while he is a star, should be as big as Mr Sinatra?
Too many distractions for kids to master instruments in the numbers that they used to. Hell too many for me to take advantage of opportunities when this guy was prime innovative talent. Now the world of distractions is in front of them available for indulgence. Some of us didn't completely realize how fortunate we were to have our cultural environment or that it would nearly vanish in our lifetime. Generation Z doesn't generally have any idea how comparatively shortchanged they are by their abundance of media.
I feel thankful to live in a time where it's possible to rewatch a masterful music performance from more than 50 years ago. What a gorgeous performance and how wonderful it is to feel like you're back to a different time and place, if only for an hour and a bit.
❤❤❤❤2024 This Is Truly a Legendary Show 1968 I was 7 year,s Old Wow God Father Of Soul James Brown The big Payback And Living In America in The 90’s a True Superstar in the music Industry Never will be Forgotten Music ❤❤❤❤
I am proud to be black because of James Brown. He was an untrained musical genius. Grew up dirt poor during the Jim Crow era in Augusta, GA. The man was brilliant. Just brilliant.
i see him a few years before he died he was carrying his girl friend around the stage most enthusiastically lol looks like the family have settled the court case now.but i would urge them re-release the original sound recordings on 45 rpm one of the last things he said was.we need to go back to 45,s i think what he meant was analogue records make the music more special.cause sacd just dont out do or match a quality 45 analogue mono 45.ive got about 50 45s by james brown lol & quite a few original lps they still sound great.but sadly most vinyl reissues are digital now even though he said lets go back to 45,s peace ...
And yes, James Brown was brilliant. He created a genre of music and he was a beacon for the hopeless and the oppressed in the height of the Civil Rights era.
Vizionand, am trait momente de inalta admiratie pentru televiziunea franceza, pentru ca a facut, la vremea aceea, posibilul din imposibil. L-am urmarit pe "Dynamite", cu nostalgia acelor vremuri. FANTASTIC! Multumesc UA-cam!!
James Brown performed in a very small venue (Keystone Korner) in San Francisco in '82, with our table being less than 10 feet away. The band was as 'tight' as they come. And James, sweating profusely, truly was the hardest working man in show business.
He did the same thing in a similar place in N.Y.C., called the Lone Star Cafe (13th&5th Ave) around the same time . #1Soul Brother, The Godfather, Mr. Dynamite!
JB had a groove in his head that he sent out to the world. his own unique groove undeniable Thank God for all the live performances that are recorded that we can watch and keep the man alive.

James Brown is a master showman and the JB's are always tight. i've seen James Brown many times at the Apollo theater. this show brought me back to those glory years . RIP.... thank you for posting
it wasnt yet the Jbs , the band was renamed in the early 70’s after the departure of important members like Maceo, Fred Wesley, Jimmy Nolen who came back one or two years after. Bootsy collins and. his brother catfish joined the band to replace musicians
Believe it or not, my wife went to a James Brown show, and she was the ONLY person in the audience. The club was empty. But James gave it his all, as per usual.
No artificial celebrities there, all the real thing! I saw James live once and was lifted up musically and spiritually. Spent half the night in a hotel with half the band and met Freddy Westley. Greatest bunch of musicians you could be with. James was hard on the band and expected perfection and the band was impeccable, tight and always dynamite! The funkiest band on the planet! God Bless them all! RIP James, thank you for years of real soul and genuine performance! Thank the band for years of the tightest, funkiest, soulful band on the planet! Amen

Fantastic band!
like Buddy Rich Mr. Brown was a cruel boss: one wrong note and you had to pay- either with less money or you got scolded very severely.
With a front man like that, no such thing as getting worked too hard. You'd be embarrassed not to bring your A game to every gig.

Bruh was he maintaining the audience too? Along with the band, dancers, backstage/onstage crews and himself???? There's no one like him.
James brown was ideally a musical iconic genius. He made music that was appealing to the ears.Crossing over intro several genre.whether funk soul jazz or Pop classic. He made his band into well dressed and coordinate professional players. He was pure genius.
It's amazing that he utilized jazz, blues, funk, gospel and beebop, which gave birth to hiphop.
Hip hop can’t touch this!
WOW, I had never seen or new James Brown had a Show... and I was born in 56. I'm bad! I love it and will no doubt I'll see it again. What a Showman!
🙏🙏Blessings forever GOD loves y'all too forever tell everyone you know and don't know. Jesus loves y'all too forever. Teach everyone how to see and enjoy their blessings too forever
Years ago I was listening to Chris Rock talk about the Black Experience in America on the the WTF podcast with Marc Maron. He said, almost as a throw-away line, "There's nobody Blacker than James Brown." I think of that quote every time I watch or listen to the Godfather of Soul.
He's arguably had as much influence in the advancement of civil rights as any of his peers.

I haven’t heard that one, love rock and brown, I’ll listen to it
Chef D'Oeuvre! The sound is amazing thanks to French Tv crew! We are able to witness digitally a CHEF D'OEUVRE LIVE years after !
he's not the godfather of soul he IS SOUL
Indeed. He is the KING of all things rhythmic.
Até que enfim, consegui esse show completo, pela Internet!!!
Muito Obrigado, para quem postou esse vídeo, tão importante para os fãs de James Brown!!!
James Brown at his best. Paris. 1968. You just can't get any better than this.
the late sixties, early seventies was the peak of popular music...It's been pretty much all downhill since then...

No one in the history of music can out perform james brown during this time. Period. Not even close
Michael Jackson not even a pimple on his butt
Before there was Prince, Michael Jackson and others, there was James Brown & The Famous Flames! This show exemplifies his range...😎

Don't know which was tighter & sharper: their sound or their suits!
The best music ever, real artists !! Those songs wil never, go away, or die. in the memories, of a whole lot, of people!!
WHAT A PERFORMANCE ❤❤❤
TITO. LOVES APRIL ENRIQUEZ. BABY GIRL I LOVE LOVE LOVE YOU
This Was The Best Band James Brown Ever Had...The James Brown Orchestra! 👍
Oh yes. James even had violinists in his band around that time. That made it special from his other bands he had. I saw them in two other videos.
A jewel. Stellar performance. Priceless. The poor people in the audience had no chance to dance....
He was incredible! This is 1968 a time of war and terrible racial tensions. JB
was able to rise above it all and unite society with music.
Simply astonishing!
NO, 1967.
Back then paris had french people in it. There wasnt racial tensions there like they are now. Paris is an africanized shithole now
Un don du ciel James B
Damn, there is no doubt A LOT of recent artists, dead or alive got their styles and sound from JB. He most definitely created a whole new genre of music in his time that lives on today in many artists. Amazing natural talent, he was. Him and his band were tight as a drum and funky as hell. No one can compare JB to anyone before or after him. He was in a league of his own, only to be modeled after. Thanks for the upload. What a treat.
Yup, some said, "JB danced so good he made Fred Astair & Micheal Jackson look bow legged.
Early buddy guy is pretty too
I totally agree I saw this performance I was blown away I seen a little bit of him and every artist after him like a tiny bit of him everywhere like he’s legendary when do people speak in high volumes And not to mention diverse that’s when you know you got a legend on your hands you seen music genius he loses himself in that music boy wonderful to watch so natural naturally inclined thank you UA-cam
There would be no funk, rap, or hiphop without JB. They steal so much.
Think they died to prove
Every time I see videos of James Brown of this period it makes me feel happy to be alive. Some of the greatest music ever made.
Prisoner of Love is so dope
We want this color enhanced with HD quality! Love this original recording also. Sound is true to form! 😎
That's Clyde Stubblefield on drums. The funky drummer
I remember a old friend told me that he went to a James Brown concert in 66,he was in boot camp and him and his buddy were the only white guys at the show. He said it was the best show he ever saw. I think Mississippi.
The best decade for Soul, Funk and R and B was the 60s. We may be old but we got to see all the cool bands.
Talent was just exploding out of this guy!!!!No one moves like James brown !!
Over my life I have seen a lot of great James Brown performances on film, but this maybe the BEST which is saying a lot. Poppa Got A Brand New Bag was off the charts AMAZING!!! HEAVEN SENT.
Wow! This was an absolute Treat. *The Godfather of Soul* 🕺 🎵💕🔥🔥🔥 Here May 16, 2022
This is what makes america great
?
James ranks as one of the best artist in America. Fact. He is sampled beyond belief. He was instrumental in civil rights. James prevented riots. He was gold but he was a product of his era.
I saw James Brown and The Flames in '68 in Phoenix Arizona - it was fabulous!
@@andrewgriggs7604 I heard he played in Mimico before that, in the mid 60's.
of all the performers of the sixties these i would have chosen to see
I envy you. I saw him dring his "Make it real"Tour in Hamburg in the CCH. A very sterile place but he turned into a speakeasy. What a night!
Absolutely beyond description. I can say that I was lucky to be alive when James Brown danced and entertained on planet earth. RIP
mustve been mind blowing to be there in front with all the colors, sound, feeling, live in person.
James Brown simply the best!
We will never see artists like this again. I hope i am wrong.
quel talent
@@elianeramasamy1296 we had Prince up until recently, the greatest ever
Too many distractions for kids to master instruments in the numbers that they used to. Hell too many for me to take advantage of opportunities when this guy was prime innovative talent. Now the world of distractions is in front of them available for indulgence.
Some of us didn't completely realize how fortunate we were to have our cultural environment or that it would nearly vanish in our lifetime. Generation Z doesn't generally have any idea how comparatively shortchanged they are by their abundance of media.
The best brass section ive heard all those triple quadruple notes they play so sweetly😊
I feel thankful to live in a time where it's possible to rewatch a masterful music performance from more than 50 years ago. What a gorgeous performance and how wonderful it is to feel like you're back to a different time and place, if only for an hour and a bit.
God save The UA-cam! God save who upload these videos!

Literally, he's old school for new artists.
Precisely.
That he or you were born black is just a casualty not to be proud of. The colour of your skin is not relevant at all!
@@OsoMarcol That is a patently naive viewpoint in a nation that was created with racism.
And yes, James Brown was brilliant. He created a genre of music and he was a beacon for the hopeless and the oppressed in the height of the Civil Rights era.
Comes out and performs the very first song with the feel of an encore presentation, like he's already did the entire concert, What a performer.
he's warming up¡¡
God Bless you and this is the best I ever seen fantastic
James was the man and his band was always top shelf. Happy to have found this piece of history.
J'd preferred a "piece" of gram of the 1968 brown !!
Dieu tout puissant, merci de nous avoir envoyé ton enfant, notre frère James Brown !
Can we just appreciate his voice in the slow songs!?
Yes! He had an incredibly soulful voice with a lovely raspy tone.
BEAU James Brown dans tous les sens du terme. Merci à lui à ses musiciens si formidables. ❤❤❤❤❤
Le,plus beau slow c est lui qui l a chanté, comment ne pas, etre amoureuse sur cette musique.
James Brown was a badass. Awesome. I saw him in the 6O's in Miami. OMG EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE. HIGH ENERGY.
I saw him then too in Miami and also in Heidelberg, Germany - mesmerized by the funk and the JBs
And James, sweating profusely, truly was the hardest working man in show business.
that must be a great great memory, i envy that
I was also at one of his Keystone shows and he was magnificent. I am so happy I got to experience James Brown live!!!¬!
Loved the Keystone Korner. Unfortunately I never saw JB there.
He did the same thing in a similar place in N.Y.C., called the Lone Star Cafe (13th&5th Ave) around the same time . #1Soul Brother, The Godfather, Mr. Dynamite!
@@raymondrainey2269 Yep. He was a show all by himself, as was the band. And together? Friggin' amazing!
JB had a groove in his head that he sent out to the world. his own unique groove undeniable Thank God for all the live performances that are recorded that we can watch and keep the man alive.

R.I.P., my friend! 😥
Yep. And when you see this, you have to be thinking how crappy alot of this "music" is today.
it wasnt yet the Jbs , the band was renamed in the early 70’s after the departure of important members like Maceo, Fred Wesley, Jimmy Nolen who came back one or two years after.
Amen
