I'm definitely going to talk to one of my art friends about motivation. She has a habit of only ever talking about her projects and never actually working towards making them and this video has made me realize that's been negatively affecting my own motivation. I don't have enough friends to have a healthy social life so I gotta put in the extra effort to make sure the wonderful people I already know are being positive influences on me and vice versa.
I can definitely relate! I’ve talked to many of my friends about this and one thing I realized is that people have to wanna change themselves. it’s not worth trying to convince someone to start who isn’t mentally ready themselves. it leads to stress on your part that may be avoidable. wishing you the best, friend🙌🏽😁
Loving how your videos talk about real life situations that can affect art and output, definitely one of the only artists I see talking about topics like this
your desktop is also a part of your desk, clear it of anything unnecessary and surround yourself with things you know help you focus. i can work anywhere so long as i got the right tempo of music playing to help zone me in.
Haha! Thanks, my man! I've thought about it for sure, but I think I wanna stick to the free yt content stuff for now. It's all I have time for atm😅 Down the line I definitely wouldn't be opposed!
You're spot on again with this video! It's such a hard topic to discuss. When you talked about surrounding yourself with the right people, I felt that the most because I've been recently reevaluating where my time goes and don't wanna waste anymore, needa be around people on the same wavlength with similar ambition/drive. Thanks again for the reminder 🫡
Yeah having supportive individuals in your corner always helps with keeping longer lasting motivation and drive for sure! It's been one of the things that I've been super grateful for in my life! You'll eventually find your people too! Keep going😁👊🏽
I was hesitant to like the video because it was at 123 likes and the OCD in me didn't want to disrupt it 😭, but Chris deserves it! 👏 Anyway, yeah, my environment has a big impact on how I draw, what I draw, and when I draw. For the most part, I don't have many friends and my circle is supportive that I draw. They know that while we don't talk every day, we are busy achieving our own goals 🎯 and will catch up once we meet again. It's better to have few friends who are supportive than many friends who are distracting, negative, and not supportive.
Great video! I think motivation is a great way to get started. I never allow myself to rely on motivation but I trust consistency and discipline. I heard that you are the sum of the 5 closest people around you. I need to work on my top 5.
That is the ideal way to get work done, and I can’t recommend it enough. Discipline and consistency is what get’s things done long term! Motivation, is always fleeting so as you said, it shouldn’t be the main gas going in the tank, but having it always makes the harder times a little easier. Thanks for watching as always😁🤜🏽that top 5 is super underrated when doing this stuff! You’ll find them for sure!
this video helped a lot 😭 i find myself struggling with motivation. i know i can improve yet im not motivated to do so. thanks for this!
Of course! Wishing you the best with eventually finding your motivation😁‼️
