@@derp195 Correct! Aside from buying time, it's also just a deterrent cause if there are a lot of bikes parked together, a thief will pick the least secured shiny bike. But if a skilled thief with all the tools is determined to steal your bike, they will find a way.
Cargo bikes and scooters are way to go and cheaper to maintain. No driver's license, gas, insurance, emissions or tag. Save lots of money in the long run.
Did you even watch the video and listen to what they said?...its a "café lock". It's to lock while you run into a place for 60 seconds... With this lock it's not designed to enable the user to take their eyes off the bike... It's for temporary use.
i dont understand how everybody under these videos thinks the lock just comes off by cutting the zip ties, its pretty obvious that would only make the lock fall off a bit but still have the bolt out that will hold on to the tire making the bike unusable if its locked, cutting off the zip ties only works when it is unlocked
That's assuming the lock itself will just slide out of the frame with the wheel. I can't tell just from looking at the bike in the video whether that would happen.
Dutch Bike Bits has the best selection.
chain locks can be cut very easy so you may need a bigger lock that will resist cutting.
No lock is 100% secure, they all just buy you time. Good chains are great - it's always a matter of security vs convenience.

I mean. I could litterally jack a car up. Steal the wheels, and than every part of the car by just unscrewing everything.

So bring your own back-wheel, cut the zip-ties, take out the unsecured wheel with the lock and you've got a 1000-3000$ bike?

at best you make the owner put that lock into their bag for the ride home and use another 2 zip ties to put it back in place again
