    hi. i have a few questions for you. 1) what is the width of the frame between the dropouts on your bike? 2) what is the width of the bottom bracket? 3) how do you tension the chain? 4) give me a link to the shop where you bought this in holland?

    Working on mine since yesterday. I'm using metal stud screws and will glue another tire or maybe a piece of rubber. I will be tryying on another pair of tires another idea, using m4x0.7x6mm set screw. I plan on screwing them upside down so I have ordered knurled point and half-dog point set screws. I think that will work well and I wont have to go through the tire

    Considering they are just some sort of rubber they cost a lot. I had imagined they wouldn't go flat like that or they would lose like %20 max which is acceptable. But yeah, they are worthless cause don't forget that they add crazy weight to your tires.

    I have one one my mountain bike and frequently enjoy shifting under load. I may be missing a gear in the middle. I'm not sure. By the way: I laced it 2 cross not 3 because you get too much angle at the rim when 3 cross.

    I appreciate your choice to use bike instead of cars. Canada is so so car infested and car dominated it's getting very unsafe and insane for anyone outside a car. drivers act as an agent of ciaos in streets and city design and laws encourage them to use their car to endanger other people. it's just crazy

    Seems like I came to the right place. I have a steel frame bike like yours, it's heavy but I want to get it up to speeds of 30-40mph. What power BBSHD do I need for something like that?

    • @urbancargobikes4930
      @urbancargobikes4930 3 місяці тому

      I'd say stock 1,500 watts would easily do 30mph and, depending on your gearing and wheel diameter, 40mph is totally possible also.

    i have a 20x4.0 rim but can a 20x3.0 innertube fit and work for a 20x4.0 ? Lets say if i don"t have a 20x4.0 innertube can a 20x3.0 be a substitute ? My next question is what if i have 20x4.0 inserts can a 20x3.0 innertube fit inside a 20x4.0 inserts ? if so what will be the psi to fill the tire up ?

    I don't see those inserts as a viable option for torquey e-bikes. More or less for analog mountain bikes and cruisers with a larger tire diameter. I do think it is a pricey little product.

    It's not a 33% drop from direct drive to low gear, rather 25%. The ratios of all S-A 3-speeds are 0.75, 1, and 1.33, so you can do the math. However, the percentage _increase_ from low to high does calculate to 33% increase in both steps, ie, 33% from 1st to 2nd, and another 33% from 2nd to 3rd. Also, if you change the chainline by adding spacers to the axle, you would have to re-dish the wheel because it wouldn't be centered in the frame any more. However, if you do it by putting spacers under/over the sprocket (or flipping a dished sprocket, as you showed), it won't change the centering of the wheel, just move the chainline. 😀

    Interesting findings, thank you. I got an ebike with 20"×3" tires, & after I got a flat on a very crunchy & spikey offroad trail, I started looking at options. I went with the puncture resistant liner, and layered the old tube in the new one, and also added latex liquid sealant, & I feel that is pretty good. I saw these & seems awesome but way too expensive, especially now that I see these results. I may still do the affordable verison and get pipe insulation from a hardware store, I wonder if it will flatten like the Tannus. At any rate, I added a small air pump to the tool bag, & would probably add spare tubes & sealant to the bag if I were to take it to work, but that's a stretch from here so probably not unless last resort. I use it mostly for fun in the parks, fishing etc.
