Bearded Dragon VS Crested Gecko: Which Makes The Best First Reptile

today we take a look at the comparison between the crested gecko and the bearded dragon. well take a look at the differences in care between the two and which one i personally thinks makes the better first reptile.

A crestie was my first reptile as well!! AND I got it from the excellent Wally Kern of Supreme Gecko who was very helpful and knowledgable and helped a young college student (me) get started on the right foot. I think that based on the amount of space and upfront costs required for a beardie compared to a crestie that the crested gecko is the better beginner animal. But, as with most things...it truly depends on the person and what their preferences are. If they have their heart set on a beardie, then chances are they will be more diligent about its care and upkeep than an animal they are less passionate about.

My friend has a Beardie and tried convincing me to get one but after doing the research I found Cresties to be more for me since then I've had my Crestie for 1 year now and shes doing great I have a full bioactive setup and give her treats of Locusts and Mealworms.

Definitely awesome video great information, you hit it right on the money. I had a crested gecko for a little while, but then it jumped on my daughter and she freaked out and didn't like it anymore. But they're definitely awesome little lizard. My votes towards a crested gecko for a beginner. Keep up the good work.

Great video!! I think a great topic or one I’d like to see would be reptile lighting. Like the difference in a heat bulb, plant bulb, or uvb then maybe the different uvb for a dessert or tropical animal

I have a beardie and my brother has a crested gecko and i would honestly say that for housing crested geckos are easier but for handling and ovr cuteness i would say beardie wins so i would say a tie

I picked a Bearded Dragon had my Bearded Dragon for 9 years he passed away in his sleep a month ago. Is 9 years old considered old age for Bearded Dragons? I’m thinking about getting a crested Gecko next.

Bearded dragons are supposed to live up to 30 years….

@@sergiowadros1109 I have never heard of anyone owning a Bearded Dragon for that long. Care sheets say the average lifespan for a Bearded Dragon is between 8 to 15 years old. It also depends on genetics.
