    This is, without doubt, the most thorough, well shot, well lit video that I've seen about putting in a spacer lift kit. My Supreme kit came today (2"+1 1/2") and I will have this video handy during the install. Letting me know what tools I'd need was great. Actually showing the steps from side to side was excellent (most just say, "Do the same on the other side"). I have subscribed. Thanks for the good work.

    Did mine today and used this video every step of the way so thank you very much! Very simple step by step, only thing I would say and this may just be in my experience, facing difficulty getting my tirerod out and refusing to beat it with a hammer I was able to still do everything with it being in place so in the end just one less extra step! Other than that thanks again!

    With all of these vids I was able to do a leveling kit on my truck, did a 2.5” front with diff drop and a 1” block on rear. Didn’t want to stress the suspension too much 3” too much on front. Thanks for these great vids!

      Jason Dexter 1” block rear, 2.5” spacer front. Tires are 265/75/16 on stock Toyota rims man. But I actually removed the spacer and got beilsteins 5100 on front and got beilsteins 5160s rear, I just left the 1” block. The rides a lot smoother now, paid less than 800 for shocks just took it to get an alignment so around $900 out the door. I recommend this set up man.

    • @ExtremeTerrainToyota
      @ExtremeTerrainToyota  5 років тому +3

      Ride quality won't change dramatically, but do expect things to stiffen up slightly due to the changed geometry angles. No torque wrench was pictured in this install but it is recommended that all major components are torqued back down to spec. Thanks for watching!

      Yes, but don't get crazy. If you hear any loud pops or bangs make sure you inspect things before getting back on the road. Specifically look to see if the lower shock mount in the front is bent (most common, but not common at all).

      i just put a 2" on the front of my taco, and it is now higher in the front and i just ordered 1" blocks for the rear. its not a full on TN tilt by any means, but i can notice it. i measured the wheel to fender, and there is now 7.5 clearance in the front and only 6.5 in the rear. so, a true level (using blocks, new coil-overs behave a little different) for gen 3 tacos is 1 inch lower lift block to the rear than whatever you put on the front. if you look at the before/after in this vid, you can see that the front is a bit higher on this kit as well.

    • @ExtremeTerrainToyota
      @ExtremeTerrainToyota  4 роки тому

      Sounds about right to be! You can always get in touch with Supreme Suspension directly if you want to double check, but strut spacers normally never are the same height as the lift given (if that makes sense). The spacer itself in combination with the rest of your front end suspension will give the truck lift, not just the spacer itself like what you'd see on solid-axle applications. -Zach

    • @ArbitraryLifestyle
      @ArbitraryLifestyle 3 роки тому

      Yes that's correct. The level of lift is roughly double the thickness of the spacer.

    Great video, but it looks terrible. It already looks like the back is lower than the front, so I imagine it’ll be dragging @$$ every time it leaves a stoplight. You have to have some rake, ppl. Even if you don’t ever use the bed you’re suppose to use (ya know, since it’s a truck).

      Brian Carpenter I have a 2/1 and it sits perfectly. Still has some factory rake, but it’s not as severe. I load my truck regularly and it never really drops below level. I can’t recall the brands I used, but it’s a 2” suspension lift in the front and 1” block at the back. The whole thing cost me $400 to have installed, including mounting and balancing the new Method wheels and Toyo ATII Open Country tires.

      IFS strut spacers are a little different compared to traditional coil spring spacers. The height of the spacer itself is never going to match the advertised lift height like you're saying. But the spacer itself *gives the lift height to the vehicles* with the help of the other suspension components. This will lift your truck 3" just fine. 😁 -Zach

    I’m confused, the guy in the video keeps talking about a strut assembly, but I don’t see one😏 As a strut is an integral component of a suspension, meaning it is a part that integrates all working parts of a suspension into one. A strut is a part that combines the duties of an upper control arm, a steering knuckle, a coil, and shock into one assembled part. A coilover does not do that, a coilover only performs the duties of a coil and shock. And a coilover has been what has been used in Tacoma’s since they were first introduced to the market in the mid 90’s. As with most other present day IFS light duty trucks, they utilize a coil over, rather than a strut to spring and shock dampen. A strut is a component that is more commonly found in cars, and crossover SUV’s.
    Sorry for the book, anyway, besides that tidbit of misinformation, the video was very informative.

      This lift kit is made specifically for 2005-2020 Tacomas, I'd recommend looking into a kit made for your specific truck to ensure proper fitment. -Zach

    What’s the actual size of the coil spacer ? It says 3in but got mine and it’s 1” 3/4 .....

    • @ExtremeTerrainToyota
      @ExtremeTerrainToyota  5 років тому

      With how the front suspension is set up on these trucks, the spacer itself is not going to equal the height it provides. I would double check all of the part numbers on the box you received to make sure it is the right kit, and if everything matches you're good to go! -Zach
