- Today I’m taking this Facebook marketplace find and giving it a fabulous furniture makeover using Dixie Belle Paint Products. This piece is getting a dipped finish in white chalk minera paint on top if a paint wash an furniture transfer!

It’s pretty. But I have mixed emotions about painting pieces that are of good quality and have little to no damage. I love wood too much to cover grain with paint unless damage is severe. Does anyone else cringe when they see 30s to 40s mahogany pieces painted? I fear it’s a trend that will be unable to correct itself. The above piece IS pretty and I like the rub on technique. You did a nice job. The handles are cool however I would have toned down the gold color.
I cringe when a new color obviously doesn’t belong with the original furniture style.
I was hoping that she would leave the drawers stained darker but keeping the wood, and the the rest could have been neutral
I lose my mind. You are not the only one. I love chalk paint but it is reserved for pieces that have so much veneer/surface damage that I can’t repair it inexpensively.
It looked so tired, worn, and boring in its before state. You gave it new life and I LOVE it! ❤
I had a piece just like that and threw it out. I have thrown out more furniture over the years than most people ever own. It never crossed my mind what creative people are doing.

We have the same sander. Just a a tip to save your lungs attach a shop vac to it so you trap almost all of the dust as your sanding. And wow love the outcome!

She is sooo pretty! Very crisp and clean yet fun and delicate at the same time! Great job girly! I love pieces like that too, you can do absolutely anything with them and they are the right size to be multi purpose. In small homes, cabins, etc… creative storage is a must have! 😊
