Any guesses on what this sold for? Give it your best shot!
What was your favorite part of today's flip?
One of your worse pieces so far. So disappointing..
I am going to say $250?? And the best part was covering the blue paint that wouldn’t come off.
My favorite part is you didn’t give up and figured out another design!
Loved everything...except the stencil drawers. It would have looked so much better. Had you paint washed the drawers before stenciling ... Or just left the stenciling out completely. Otherwise, good job!
$850
I hate most furniture transformations as they just "re-paint" in some hideous grey colors and replace hardware and think it's worth $$$.. I LOVE that you were able to strip and restore the wood to its original beauty. The light, natural wood grains are beautiful. Wow, the understated template pattern roll over the drawers could have destroyed it all--but it looks amazing. I can still see the natural grain. It really elevated this very simple chest of drawers. Very nice.
Love how this one turned out! There's no way the plywood on the sides would have stained well, so great decision to move forward with paint. Loved seeing you use the carbide scraper. Awesome job with this one!!! You do great work!
Thanks buddy! I almost said “sorry Barry” when I recorded that part! Lol I’ll get better at it eventually.
Kara that came out fabulous. I love the stencil it bumped it up a few notches and came out beautiful!!!
I sure wanted to love the finished result but just could not. Especially with all the hard work you did.
It's SO BEAUTIFUL!!!!! The color you chose is amazing! The stencil on the row wood was a brilliant idea! The knobs are fantastic! I love everything about this transformation! Thanks so much for sharing
I have that very dresser. Found it in a barn of property we bought in 1984. Still in the same condition I found it. It may be time for an update.
I’ve always liked the nicks and dings and scratches. It has been in my living room since I found it. Half the veneer gone and third drawer won’t open. Never has. I’m retired now and all the kids and grands are gone.
It’s her turn.
That is awesome!
@@LemonstoLemonadeFurniture had a fire on Sunday. Lost my shop. My dresser was in there. I had just started. Life is weird. Grass fire that spread. Just the barn and 4 old semis that have been parked. When the grass fire hit my oil drums and fuel tanks, it was over! (Truck yard).
I'm sorry that happened, I know you must be heartbroken 😢
Sometimes the furniture makes the decisions for you! This is lovely! Great job!
I adore the outcome. Vintage and antique furniture pieces are my favorites.
I think it came out beautiful!! My favorite part of this flip was the reality of flipping, This was truly making lemonade out of lemons.
Thank you so much!
This is by far my FAVORITE piece you have ever done. This is just the look I love. I don’t even know if I commented the first time I saw it but it is worthy of a second. I WILL be doing something like this in my own home. I don’t flip I just watch and learn. I’m so thankful for you, you stay right with your flipping theme. So many channels get bigger and bigger and then go away from the roots of what brings us to you. I’m all for growing but this is what me personally love to watch most of all. I don’t stay engaged when I watch what goes into stores or more about merchandise rather then flipping. So CONGRATULATIONS to you. Have a wonderful weekend
Thank you Di. This was def my fav flip of 2023!
I suggest using a dryish brush to dab paint on the stencil areas..keeps paint from running under edges of the design. Also it is good to use 3 colors (dark, medium, light) for the design...gives depth and interest that keeps the eye moving instead of just an unlively flatish look.
That blue paint did NOT want to go! Great job - it looks fabulous!
This was a diamond in the rough!! Your plan B was an excellent choice - understated but such stunning results. 👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you so much!
Your chair is beautiful. I bought that chair in 1976. I always loved it. I found a nice footstool to match.
That’s so cool! I love that you found a footstool to match!
What a difference ! You did a fab job of restoring it.
Thank you so much! I appreciate you tuning in! Hope to see you next time!
Stunning!!!! I had a cabinet that had drawers on one side and a door on the other that had been natural wood, pale yellow, blue, hunter green then brown! Lol When I tried to strip it, everything came off down to the blue. That blue refused to come off. I tried a heat gun and finally wound up using a scraper. It had plywood panels exactly like your piece, and I ended up painting those and doing a wash over the rest, it was a nightmare and took forever, but it’s absolutely beautiful now.
Yes!! Sounds just like this crazy project!! It was worth the save in the end!
I love seeing the beautiful wood grain!
Thank you for not painting it white like others do!
Awesome job!!! Lovely!!!
Im not sure about hardware, but the rest is beautiful!
That’s what I thought too. To me the top small drawers look out of wack due to keyhole in the centre. Maybe one centred handle would be better? But I absolutely love the design on the large drawers! I’m going to copy this style on my old waterfall kitchen cabinet.
Sweetheart anything you do is absolutely fabulous
GOSH , I just LOVE it, well done, it is amazing ! Great Job, yes yes, make more like this one, awesome idea !
Thank you! Will do!
I was not crazy about the color you chose and I didn't like the knobs you chose but it did come together better than I thought. I may have chosen a different color and different knobs but I do like the stencil on the drawers and I think I will be doing that on an old dresser I use in my main bathroom. It was a lot of work but I was impressed with how you handled it.
A perfect piece of furniture which exudes beauty and class you really did a great job
Thank you so much!
Yes, the furniture does lead the way at times! Very nice results!
Yes! Thank you!
Thank u so much. I have a piece very similar to this but in flat black paint with cast iron knobs. U have inspired me to get back to it..❤
Loved it, very fresh and airy! BIG job I can see. Well done.
I love it. Good for you it looks like a brand new antique! ❤️
I thought it turned out gorgeous! I only wish you’d had metal or glass knobs but what you chose was very appropriate and cost effective.
and Mrs T WOW what a great job you have done here. The piece looks really lovely well done
Now thats bad ass
I'm blown away with your transformation on this one. I couldn't visualize what you were doing, which made the reveal especially amazing.
Loved the finished dresser. A lot of hard work and rethinking choices along the way. You know what your doing and it shows.
Thank you so much! That is such a great compliment!
I think I would have continued to wear a mask for all the scraping & sanding. Nice job!
The dresser turned out great. Love the stencil. I love the grain of oak but not the orangey color. You nailed it.
Wow! It’s so beautiful! Great job sticking to it!
Thank you! 😊
Thank you for video I have a much needed project for my daughter dresser now I have new tips and ideas 👍
Wonderful! Good luck!
When I first saw the colors you'd chosen, my expectations were low. And how wrong I was! I absolutely love this piece and it would fit in well in my home. Great job!
I Love the final look.💖.... ( but I do have to say that I think I would've done the sides of the drawers also.....)
Agreed. Even if to just cover up that ugliness, or at least sand it off 🤷🏼♀️
Wow!!! You did it again! You’re so talented. Love the colors you used. 👍
Omg, I didn't think it was going to come together. It is truly beautiful!!❤
Thank you! 😊 so very much!
This is the most beautiful dresser I have ever seen! I would love to see a companion piece in the same style. Breathtaking! 💕🥰
Thank you @lorrainegreen6782! This makes me smile! So happy to hear! Hope to see you next time!
Wow that is such a beautiful transformation. Such cool skills
Thank you so much 🤗
Cottage chic! Sp pretty!
Thank you! 😊
It is amazing. Totally worth it. I love watching and learning from you. Thank you
You are so welcome!
So pretty! Would look so nice in an a entry way.
I think so too!
It turned out super cute! Although, I was crazy about the pulls.
Absolutely lovely! Your dedication, care and hard work truly shine brilliantly ! I've recently aquired a similar piece, most original hardware with key for drawers, completed with an amazing horizontal oval mirror. Thank you for the inspiration of wonderful ideas I've gotten by watching this vid. I was a bit intimidated by the layers of paint but now I am motivated to start. Thanks again!
Thank you @kimkessler1187! This makes me smile! So happy to hear! Hope to see you next time!
Great video! I just stripped a mid-century hallway bench and posted a video. Love giving old furniture new lifw 🙏🏻
That’s awesome! Thanks for watching!
Love the new paint job!! It looks stunning !
Wonderful, I always try to let ideas percolate when looking at a new project.
Any guess on what kind of paint that is.
I have watched alot of your vids and this is my fave labor of love ! I love old beat up and battered peices that that get looked over and need a hug n some lovins! Bravo to you. It`s so cute.
Yes it did take a lot of work. Looks great you did a good job. The original knobs on my dresser are larger, round and slightly convex. Have a great weekend.
@donnamullins2089 Thank you! We appreciate you watching!
This took a tremendous amount of perseverance and time. Job well done!
@deniseparker6346 Thank you! I appreciate you watching! Hope to see you next time!
I think this piece brought out your creativity! It may have taken more time and energy, but it is my favorite of all the flips you've done! It's the one I'd actually enjoy in my own home. I don't enjoy pieces that look like they came from a furniture store. It's well loved antiques with great patina or painted with charm for me ( and also the market I live in - Mid Atlantic region). Since this is your business and not a hobby, I get that you have to pivot and generate alternatives when executing plan A is no longer a wise decision. What rule says plan B or even C isn't even better! I think this project proves that point. This project also proves function can also be beautiful! Kudos for giving this old piece a new life.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate the compliment! I appreciate you being here!
I picked up a dresser like this off the side of the road. It needs a lot of wood glue and screws! Lol Once the dresser has the needed support, you have given me great ideas to work off of. My dresser is still in the trunk of my SUV because like you I was stumped! Lol
Thank you so much! I appreciate you tuning in! Hope to see you next time!
Beautiful piece. You loved it back to life. 💛
LOVE THIS PIECE! I think it might be my favorite so far. Thank you for all of the knowledge you share. You’re a joy to watch❤
Thank you Kimberly! You made my day!
I feel bad that I simply don't care for the stencil. EVERYTHING else i love! You attention to detail and quality work is phenomenal! I know you said you did the stencil so it wouldn't just fade into the background and I certainly appreciate your creativity. Someone else's taste and preferences will love the stencil and help you get top dollar.
No worries! everyone has their own style. And YES it sold really quickly for the asking price. It went into a nursery which is pretty perfect for this piece! Thanks for watching!
This piece turned out beautifully in spite of the challenges you faced. You do such beautiful work!! ❤️
Thank you so much!
The stencil is my favorite part! This turned out gorgeous!!!
It turned out great! I have a dresser that was painted blue and I mean blue everywhere…on the inside the drawers…streaked all over the place and I’m having a hard time removing the paint. It’s so frustrating when you have a piece like that but you did a great job!
Oh Wow!! I’m Loving the paint wash & the wood grain showing thru!! Also the stencil with same paint wash is gorgeous!! The subtle character with your amazing staging is Fabulous!!! 🌸💓🌸 Kuddos to you going out of your comfort zone for this lost homemade Beauty!!!👑🌹💓
Wow what a labor of love. But totally worth it. Looks perfect. You made it work !
Thanks so much! 😊
Even though it was a lot of effort and elbow grease with the paint removal, the decisions you made with the paint wash and stenciled drawers were wonderful! Everything came together and you created a dazzling piece…wow! A real beauty!!🎉👏🎉👏
Gorgeous flip! Love how it turned out.
Thanks so much!
It is so pretty now! An unbelievable amount of work but the results were worth it.
This is gorgeous! You should do more wood restoration! Wow!
Thank you so much! I do love restoring old pieces!
I use my heat gum with my scraper and it helps a lot
Some strippers are flammable...assuming yours is not.
Thank you for this amazing video! I’m so glad you’re not using a fancy surfpro or a paint sprayer, and that you’re showing an alternative way to paint your pieces when they don’t go according to plan… stuff most channels wont show. And also, the finished result is absolutely gorgeous!! Subbed. ✅
Glad it was helpful! Oh yes gotta show all the ins and outs! Lol it’s a learning curve for sure!
I love, love, love how the colour you used on the stencil work is the same time as the grain! This piece is gorgeous. Great work!
*tone
Love it! Just not sure about the knobs but love the piece anyway!
I just love how great the neutral knobs look.. And the surprise factor with the stenciling looks great. With the paint being so hard to get off. I think that's a tip-off that there could be lead paint. You should talk about that in your next video. It's great that you saved another beautiful piece from the landfill.. Absolutely, gorgeous wood.. I think this piece is absolutely beautiful..
Thank you! I did test for lead before I started. So it’s strange! Not sure why it was so difficult!
I LOVE IT!!!!!!!😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
I think this is just beautiful and I love the stencil too...
Even though I liked the blue, I really thought your end result was perfect. Nice job for sticking with it, and I appreciate the new idea.
Thank you!
You are the Best, Girlie.... my fave finisher. Never disappointed in anything you do. ❤
Wow, thank you! Massive complement!
Super, super great job! It is beautiful!❤
Love this!! So natural and light :)
Yes! Thank you!
😮 I like the other way and a lot of stuff. It had that aged rustic farmhouse farmhouse kind of touchange. The handles put a nice seal around it.
Oh well, each to its own.
❤ I luv it .. I would have picked different handles tho but the color & the stencil being just lite I luv this
Well done.
That truly is a transformation! I felt your frustration with the blue paint not coming off !! Looks great !!
Thank you! Thanks for watching!! Hope to catch you next time!
I liked the stencil so much, I would have liked it on the top drawers too. This piece has a certain charm. You do nice work and I hope you got a good price for your creativity and labor!
Thank you! I was really happy with the selling price! I will try another one of these again if I can find it!
That was pretty creative nice job.
Thank you! Cheers!
Turned out beautiful!
Beautiful and original. Nicely done!
Thank you very much!
Surprise looks fantastic.
Stunning!
Whew!!!! Labor INTENSIVE - and it paid off. SO beautiful! I couldn’t find what you sold it for…..I’ll bet close to $900? Thanks for your video❤️
Thank you! 😊
Beautiful peice. Shape/style. Amazing job love the color
Thank you very much!
Have you ever considered have a soda blaster around for those spots you can’t get with scraping and sanding? I think you have an air compressor so a small soda blaster would only be like $35. If you have a powerful enough compressor they work like a charm.
It turned out beautiful. You do nice work.
Thank you! 😊
Lots of hard work and the paint wash is beautiful. Personally I’d prefer no stencil and different knobs, but it’s still pretty.
Its delicate and pretty.
I might try the color on an orangy/yellow nauty pine desk. I would have stenciled the top 2 drawers, and done a more decorative floral knob to repeat the pattern/theme. Did you put a protective seal coat on top?????
I loved it! ❤
OMG! I just love how this bureau turned out. I know you usually do more contemporary pieces, but you did an amazing job! I also love the fact that you use best practices when you work and it shows. Thank you for sharing this beautiful piece!
Thank you so much! Yes, this one was a stretch for me but I did love the end result!
What a beautiful piece of work!!
Thank you very much!
I love how it turn out! The only thing I would change would be the knobs with something more like a jewel type, to give the piece a more feminine look, since it is so chunky. Either way it looks great and very classy! Nice work!
Absolutely gorgeous!!!
I'm a newbie at flipping...so quick question. Why didn't you just sand first rather then use the stripper and the scraper? Thanks!! Love your channel❤❤
I am wondering that myself
Some possible reasons to use stripper: When you sand, the paint and sawdust are released into air. Sawdust on it's own is enough without adding the paint. Not all paint will scrape off easily. If the paint is tightly adhered to wood, you may cause more damage to the wood by scraping than you will using stripper. The same goes for sanding. Some paints (usually oil-based) have hardened over time in addition to tightly adhering to the wood. In this case, removing by sanding is time consuming while requiring a lot of sanding supplies. Many times folks don't put a base (shellac is a common base) between wood & paint/primer. In these cases, the paint gets embedded into the grain. Paint embedded in the grain is a pain to get out. A stripper is often helpful in removing paint from grain. Some folks also just prefer to use stripper.
