Botanist who specializes in plant genetics and taxonomy here! There are actually five different documented and accepted versions of micans. The mican has many forms: wide and narrow, green, brown, and blue etc. There is a variegated green form, brown form, two types of wide form and a narrow form :)
wow :0 that's interesting to know! Thank you for telling me that! I tried to search but didn't find good information online. Do you happen to have any links that introduce these mican forms? I'd love to see what they look like
Very nice to see your variegated micans, I have seen it here in Australia early this year, I don't have it, but it will be interesting to see yours when they get bigger,, thanks for sharing and take care.
Do the varigated micans fill a pot full and thick like the regular micans do? Do they grow similar to regular micans? I ask this because every plant i see has few leaves growing. I love the leaves but id want to grow them into a full basket or thick up a pole.
@@paigewats1375 if it was in perlite when the seller grows it, maybe it's good to follow to reduce the shock it might have. Or you can choose the propagation method you're the most comfortable with. In general they're similar to normal mican, water/semi-hydro propagation should all work well
@@simonetimes4223 my normal method is just rooting in water! But because of the price tag I’m nervous about the possibility of root rot. I’ve heard perlite is the most safe method! I’ll be interested to see what it arrives in. My assumption is moss
Their prices dropped and they are so worth buying now. I love mines. Really nice leaves
