I just really enjoy watching you and I think you are so goid plant parent! I always learn something new from you, thank you for geving of your time for all of us :)
Your kitties remind me so much of mine, not only because I also have a black/white tuxedo kitty and a brown tabby, but because I always have at least one of them glued to me. ❤ Yours seem much better behaved around your plants than mine!
aw lol I love the tuxedo kitties! They're so cute! We adopted them as siblings together and they were just so little 🥹 The tabby definitely follows me around all the time lol. They're pretty good with my plants! Sometimes they get nosey but for the most part I'm lucky they don't care too much!
How many plants do you have, and do you ever feel overwhelmed by all of them? I’ve found I have a certain limit. If I get above that, it starts feeling more like work. Also, I love how the new plant in the middle made the neon philodendron look nice and full. I recently did the same thing with a pothos.
Thank you! It's around 175 - 200. I usually can tell when I'm reaching that point because it's my max and I can get overwhelmed easily lol. I'm starting to feel that way now so I'm going to get rid of a few plants that don't spark joy anymore. I love caring for plants I LOVE and enjoy having and I don't want to have a plant just to have it I guess. I definitely want to keep this a fun hobby and not like work so downsizing helps a lot!
Hi Melissa! New subscriber to your channel and have been binging your videos! You have a beautiful collection! I really wish the prices of plants here in Australia were like the USA. Haha I can dream lol.
Hi! welcome! Thank you for being here! It's been almost a year on UA-cam .. so crazy! lol It took me awhile to warm up to the camera and my older videos were so different! haha. It's crazy how prices can be so different depending on your location! I'm definitely lucky I have access to some amazing plants for a lot cheaper!
Aw I always feel so bad when husbands hate plants all Over the house. I really am so grateful my husband almost encourages my plant addiction which isn’t good I know ahahah!!!! #enabler Your plant room is gorgeous 😊
lol I have to admit at the old house I had a lot of plants all over the living space - it was a little crazy haha but he's better about it now - he knows I love them and as long as I don't go crazy he doesn't care to much. Plus, I watered at the kitchen sink so it was always a mess 🙃
I love mine♡ I recently read that if you put them in less light they will get darker green leaves. So I moved mine to a shady spot, like I did with my baltic blue.
They're definitely worth it! I reached out to them so I was interested as soon as I saw someone else use them and I'm happy to promote them since I love them so much!
Your plant room looks beautiful as is🪴💚 but I can relate with wanting to refresh plant arrangements etc.. I just did in my plant office room 🥰💚🪴fall is for decorating..lol
Thank you so much! fall is for decorating yes! lol - we miss last year since we thought we were moving so we didn't decorate. This year the stuff is coming out lol
So do those Thiccly poles feel sturdy? I was looking at some other ones on Amazon and the reviews were not good. People were saying that they were really thin and flimsy flamy, the tabs didn't line up, and that they had to pop out all the square pieces themselves. I've looked at the Thiccly ones several times too, but I hadn't seen anyone use one before, it looks nice.
They do feel sturdy! I haven't extended one yet but I've seen other accounts on instagram use them and they have some tall ones. The other versions are knocking off this company and they're not the same :(
I always go to sleep super early whenever my husband isn't home for the night lol he keeps me up so late! question - did you quarantine the new neon philo before putting them together? or since you're using beneficial mites, does it not matter bc they're going to eliminate any pests?
lol my husband goes to bed early so it's usually me up late. I had it outside for a few days after I bought it and I didn't see anything on it - I'm not so strict on quarantining new plants anymore as long as I don't see any obvious pests. I water with mosquito dunks to kill any fungus gnats and they should be okay. The mites can't reach all my plants but I've been rotating them around :)
Hi there! It's called grafting tape - I found it on amazon when I was searching for something clear to use. I can link what I bought! It came as a two pack - one clear and one green. It's not super sticky but it does the job :) www.amazon.com/dp/B07SS3QF1S?tag=onamzmeli0992-20&linkCode=ssc&creativeASIN=B07SS3QF1S&asc_item-id=amzn1.ideas.27D4Z5CKST4WL&ref_=aip_sf_list_spv_ofs_mixed_d_asin
haha I completely understand - it was so much better having this space for a plant room. I think he slowly got more used to them but as long as I don't go crazy or take up the kitchen all the time like I used to lol
I don't typically take my outdoor plants inside but I do have a large variegated scented geranium that I'd like to bring in. I'm concerned about bringing in pests from outside, do you have a method for dealing with that on yours?
My zone still gets too cold to leave them out or I would - this is the second year I had plants outside and honestly, I just check them over well and hose them off with water and that's really it lol. I'm using beneficial insects so I don't want to harm them buy spraying pesticides. I'm going to use them every 6-8 weeks. If I spot a certain pest, then I can treat as needed I guess for that plant.
Omg I felt this so hard because I hate my var. micans. It’s so underwhelming:( and now I was educated that we have the “halo” one and there’s a REAL variegated one that looks way different so yeah I’m mad about that too :(
I buy them off of amazon or I pick up the cheap bags at my local hardware stores here. The kind I'm using is a 3 pack for around $50 and they're 150g each - the quality is better than my local bags and there's more in them. www.amazon.com/dp/B01BJE4VAU?tag=onamzmeli0992-20&linkCode=ssc&creativeASIN=B01BJE4VAU&asc_item-id=amzn1.ideas.1OODWALE01UEU
If you break down the cost of all the supplies to make your own + your time to make them, it's a good price! You get 5 of them and they use way less moss and all you have to do is fold them up - it's a lot easier lol I dread making my wire poles - such a task!
Sorry but the vari micans I've seen have all looked kind of sickly or unwell(leaf shape and variegation pattern),is that just how they look or do they actually struggle? The price you paid was a steal unless the prices have dropped majorly
I got it from botanicaz and they marked them wayyy down since I purchased. Someone told me this is the halo one - I didn't know that! And the aurea has the beautiful yellow variegation. It just appears weird to me lol I like it but I don't love it yet. I need to see it grow out more - I'm not sure what it looks like as it grows out.
I LOVE....your night time repots and chats. Thank you.
Sammmeee.
Glad you like them! Thank you!!
Love watching your repots.
Thank you so much! :)
I love pulling the sheathing of that way I can see how much it’s grown since the last time I pulled them off. Call me crazy!😊
Loved the repot video. The micans looks 1000% better with the new smaller pole. Thank you !!
Thank you! I think so too! That pole was SO big 😆
I just really enjoy watching you and I think you are so goid plant parent! I always learn something new from you, thank you for geving of your time for all of us :)
Thank you so much! I love sharing and helping so it makes me happy to hear that! thank you for being here and watching! 🥰

I’ll take the micans if you don’t love her anymore! I love the halo but the aurea is beautiful as well
I love mine♡ I recently read that if you put them in less light they will get darker green leaves. So I moved mine to a shady spot, like I did with my baltic blue.
Maybe it's the aurea I was seeing then! I didn't realize this one was called a halo LOL I think once it grows more I'll like it better :)
Where did you get your potting mat from?
A girl on instagram sent it to me awhile ago! She knew I loved monstera and she was so sweet to gift it! It's from www.theplantdrip.co
They both turned out so grest :)....still do not have any moss poles! You are making me think this brand to try first :)
They're definitely worth it! I reached out to them so I was interested as soon as I saw someone else use them and I'm happy to promote them since I love them so much!
I know the feeling of having trouble waking up. I worked as a RN for 28 years at least 15 of them might shift. I loved working nights.
Night shift was a great shift to work at my hospital - it definitely is still a struggle lol

Hi. Is that a mini plastic wrap roll that you used to secure the Micans to the pole? Where did you get it

@@plantsbymelissa you are so amazing. Thank you
My boyfriend is so annoyed with all the plants around out apartment but he does understand I love plants… we both can’t wait until we get a house 😅
haha I completely understand - it was so much better having this space for a plant room. I think he slowly got more used to them but as long as I don't go crazy or take up the kitchen all the time like I used to lol
So sad! I thought my bf would think that, but he said it gives the apartment personality and at least its a healthy addiction lol

I didn't realize this was a halo version! Someone else commented that too - I definitely like the aurea one more lol one day!
I honestly love these videos you are doing!
Thank you! I think repotting videos are my favorite to film! Sometimes I talk a little too much if it's just me and the camera lol
Do you buy you moss in bulk? If so, where? I'm interested in making some of these but I can find moss in anything other than small bags!
I buy them off of amazon or I pick up the cheap bags at my local hardware stores here. The kind I'm using is a 3 pack for around $50 and they're 150g each - the quality is better than my local bags and there's more in them.

I want the thickley poles but why do they have to be so expensive?
