I prefer the longer videos and I think the 2 episodes of rehab and a fun road trip is brilliant! Thank you for sharing and have a great weekend to come👍🏻🙂
I love wagons, and how honest you are with attempting to spend as little as possible. The longer videos are great and the editor is truly a master at picking great content with audio levels everyone can understand. You do not pretend to be Chip Foose or Boyd Coddington you are a family man just trying to make in this world, and try to have a ton of fun along the way. When your whole family gets involved, and pitches in to make something always unique and fun together that makes these vehicles even better and more fun to watch. It takes a lot of guts to do this full time and bet on yourself; I am damn proud of you and support you as I can. You always are able to adapt to any situation, improvise a solution when necessary, and overcome any obstacle in your path. Great video, I am looking forward to the series. Thanks!
Don't feel bad about the way you paint engines, That's the exact same way Cummins paints engines when you spend upwards of $45,000 for one! I swear they assemble it and then dunk the whole thing in a vat of paint or something 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I absolutely love the longer videos, especially with multiple parts. The process of going from a hunk to something actually usable is an absolute delight.
The “use what you got” motto of your channel makes it one of my favorites to watch. Every time you don’t buy something and instead use a close-enough equivalent (i.e. leftover tractor paint, trunk lid for floors, etc) it is so satisfying to watch. Poverty genius is what makes us humans so great!😂 🤘🏻
I love these 2-3 parters. You get to see the finished product and your plans for the vehicle. Instead of the “What ever happened to that car?” Really enjoyed the current wagon revival. Keep up the good work!
I don't go out of my way to like any new UA-camrs, but after seeing a bunch of junkyard digs episodes featuring you, and getting a kick out of your style I decided to give your channel a shot. I've only seen the one other video, that GTO one, and that was worth the watch. I'll make sure to watch a few more episodes but so far it's entertaining. I never thought I'd watch an hour plus long UA-cam videos but I find myself watching more and more of them.
22:11 "these gloves aren't fire proof" Man i just about came out of my chair at work. I just got done setting my shirt on fire (and i mean fire fire not smoldering) last Saturday while using an angle grinder because i thought it was a cotton shirt. It wasn't. I went up like i was soaked in gas. I had a welding helmet on so vision was limited. I was like. Hmmm. Why am i suddenly warm? Saw a flame coming up at my face. Somehow i only lost some hair. No burns. Thank God.
I love you guys. This channel is an example of "content is king" . PBG doesn't need fancy cars, glossy garage floors and fresh brand new sponsored parts. Ya'll get it done like the rest of us that wrench on our own cars in our driveways.
Longer builds is why I'm here! I found your channel when you dragged out a 1960 Pontiac that we never got to see again. But than you did the Holy Goat and that had to be 20 videos.
I love the multi-part builds you do. This looks like a really cool car and not a model you see every channel working on too. This should be a great road trip car.
Nice longer video - well worth the Low-Buck Club admission! TIP: Soaking bucket for smokers - use kerosene with your cleaner. You'll use less cleaner, you won't go 'BOOM', and you can use it practically forever (let it setle, salvage kerosene by coffee filters, add more cleaner, top off with more kerosene and off ya go).
What sort of cleaner would you add to kerosene? I was buying some kerosene based stuff for my parts cleaner but the price has gone ridiculous so I’d like to mix my own.
"Word", like the cool kids said in the '90's... I've got kerosene over 30 years old. Smells a little off - gawd knows what stuff it's collected over the years - but still cleans parts. Diesel is my favorite cleaner now though; impossible to flash off (in my experience), available everywhere, fairly cheap (even after FJB) and leaves a nice kinda WD40-like coating on your metal stuffs to protect from rust.
@@glenns5627 - Or 'Wicked nizzah!' as the cool kids around Boston would say in the late 60's and 70's 😎 (My kero's grodier than your kero ... lol) The coating is the one reason I don't like diesel - aside from the "perfume", but everyone has their likes. I still use motor oil and Assembly lube - more motor oil really (especially seating pistons down - how do these guys do that dry?) but not doing so much anymore but bikes and small engines so, who cares?
It was priceless when Jess pulled you from the newer more expensive car - she adds so much to the channel. Another great episode. Love the longer the buildouts with cars with character like you are building on now.
You, Mortske and Kevin are my top car video channels. You are all knowledgably and entertaining and you work on all brands. I'm a Ford guy but the three of y'all treat all the brands with the same respect and disrespect.
I think your idea for a series culminating in an awesome road trip with the family is a great idea! It would be cool to get to meet you when you come to Galveston.
Jess is such a trooper and a great addition to the channel love seeing her on. I've sent countless people to her etsy store to help support her and you
I don't know who needs to hear this but concerning heater cores, CLR works great for clearing them. My XJ's was plugged solid. Took it to the local shop and they tried some kind of acid and it didn't work. Me being cheap didn't want to pay $900 for them to install a core. Me, also trying to get out of ripping the dash apart, thought hey, this stuff works on all sorts of things, worse that happens is it doesn't work. Disconnected the heater hoses at the core, attached clear hoses, started filling to upper hose until it wouldn't take anymore. I angled the other hose upwards so I wouldn't lose any CLR if it started breaking the clog. 3 beers later I saw stuff seeping into the other hose. (About an hour) I let it cook for another 2 beers then put the lower hose into a bucket. I blew into the upper hose with a air nozzle (set at about 5 psi) and a big glob of junk came out then the CLR flowed. Rinsed system with hot water, put more CLR in, let it cook overnight. (I was 10 beers in by this point so it was sandwich time) Flushed more crap out the next day, rinsed with hot water, done. Had heat again. So yeah, maybe give Calcium Lime Rust remover a try. Save some $. (I really think adult beverages are key in the process.)
Love the longer videos with the road trip format. It's always great to see these machines doing what they were meant to do. I'm looking forward to the next one!
When you said you were critically low on Self-Tappers I immediately yelled "We're gonna lose the shop!" This is gonna be a great build. I love the styling of these old cars. Incidentally, I also said "That's an AC Delco, that ain't gonna fit a Ford" when you got the Master Cylinder... I don't like to gloat but... I was right.
Absolutely brilliant videos, you make real people believe that too can fix, repair or build their own car from the comfort of their own garage with basic every day tools. Your a real guy who smokes and swears and loves to include your family, to me your genuine. Please keep making videos
I love this kind of video where you build something you plan on having your family in. Some shortcuts that are funny but still making it relatively safe.
Thank You Dalton for some excellent Thursday Eve entertainment! Saw a bit of the Live wher you and Buff were cleaning the 460. I've ALWAYS appreciated your " What is the commitment level, what it the cost level" thinking. THAT is what people with no sponsors, and limited to no money DO! I have this and this, I can make this work, because I need this to work and get to work tomorrow. We will go from there. I just put a man door on the back of my garage, two opposite side door hinge jambs and a header , swing it how it needs to be, and make it work! Amazing what can be done when you NEED to do it!
Man, that was fun, but I will be back to terrorize the back roads in this family wagon soon… might as well test it before it goes on a long haul road trip
Every week I look forward to Daltons wonderful antics. And what I really enjoy is that he is actually very knowledgeable about cars but doesn’t let that stop him from having fun !!!!
I wish I seen your way of working on cars a few years back.. I found an adorable vintage Jeep Commando for sale at a local junkyard .. I wanted it ! ... my loveone insisted it would be too expensive and too much work to restore.. metal was a lil dented and a lil rusted, but no significant damage or rot.. and as you show, we could have grabbed metal off of many things .. hell, our old old washing machine had heavy metal sides..lol Sure it may not be highend restoration, but it's keeping these vehicles around.. and drivable ! ... and it would have given us something else cute to drive. I really appreciate seeing how you fix up these cars, trucks and vans !
It looks like doing wagon restos are high right now! That 60 Ford looks like my friends from we hung around from 1968-1972. He drove a '60 2 Dr Galaxie w/292 and Ford-o-Matic auto. A slug mobile we called it. I like the longer videos on auto rebuilding and then a trip to see how much falls apart, if any! Dalton, you and your brother are very good at what you choose to do, that's what makes life interesting to watch. Dalton, you are one of a kind, meant in the good sense.
I absolutely love the longer build vids and I really relate to your emphasis on doing things on a realistic budget. I was typically only in to Japanese/foreign cars until I started watching you and JYD, now I need me a big ol' American V8 in my life. Great content as always!
It is. If he hasn't sold it, Iwill get you some photos and details sooner than later. As I understand he hasn't listed it and all interest has been word of mouth.
I like the idea of 2 or 3 segment builds. I love those old land yachts and it was sad that one was so rotted but it was put to good use for getting your long roof back on the road. On the broken motor mount I would have drilled a couple holes through it and put bolts, washers and nuts to hold it together. I have done it a few times and it worked fine for temporary mounts until the new ones arrived. Ford did make a 2 door version of that wagon but they are rare. I am looking forward to seeing this build completed. Hopefully the parts car you picked up has a good windshield in it for you. .
You're a hoot as well as a genius. So, here's a fun way to keep the oil filter oil from filling up your armpit. Find something sharp and maybe threaded and shove it in the bottom of the filter. Then drain the oil. When you get back to the filter it will be drained. Keep up the restore multi episodes or don't. Either way I'll keep watching.
ive been waiting for this video cant wait to watch, dalton my dad and i are putting a bbc and th400 in a dj5 hopefully it might turn into a drag and drive car, that wagon is badass btw
Build, road trip🤔 Yess! This is an excellent idea! Maybe you could add a few meet n greets along the way. Maybe a surprise visit to some lesser know garages like mine in Oklahoma lol. Thanks for your dedication to the craft my friend.
Best part about Thursdays is waking up and finding that there is a new super secret special video featuring a total POS cool car just for me (I’m sure other subscribers can see it too, but I pretend they can’t until after I have viewed it)
For the record I prefer longer format videos! I’m not a fan of the short format culture that’s being pushed so hard these days, I feel like it’s giving everyone ADHD. 🙃🐿️ I love the wagon, it gonna be sick! You also scored big time with the parts car, what a deal!
This is a great project you are building. I hope that you are able to complete this build and have a fun adventure and a safe trip to Galveston Texas Beach. It will be a whole lot of fun watching this. You have a ton of power to play with as well. All you need is to make the wagon as reliable and safe as possible. SEATBELTS! I live in the Philippines and there is not any automotive building here that I have seen. So I look forward to your UA-cam show. Keep is real and Keep it safe. The hardest part will be feeding the beast of a engine that you chose for it!
Thought of you the other day as I self-tappered a bearing plate to the OUTSIDE of the top of a shock tower. Don’t worry…it’s a Derby Car. And then just for good measure I shot half a roll of weld at the whole thing, an entire tube of epoxy, and even some spray foam.
I enjoy the slower more careful builds! My favorite part of a project to watch is the time after it is pulled out of the weeds, but before it's perfect, working through everything and just making it work again!
You build it we will watch. Absolutely you are on my bucket list. Spending a day or two working on one of those treasures. I really need to learn the art of the self tapper.
Love your content, my fiance and I are wanting to start doing stuff like you. I watch all of your videos as well as Junkyard Digs and several other's that are in with y'all's crew. Thank you for all the tutorials I get from your videos, please continue making content. That is amazing y'all are coming to Galveston Texas for the beach. My fiance works in the Island. One day would love to meet you guy's! Good luck on the build and thank you for the inspiration. In my opinion I think the slot mags that came on the wagon are a perfect fit for the car!!
I love this old wagon so much. Gorgeous. The longer format videos suit me perfectly. I nearly hooted when I saw the run time. Your content is top tier. That said, the thing that got me most in this video is that you're doing all this to take Jess to see the ocean for the first time. How do you make magic happen in your life? This. This is how. Yet another reason I appreciate you, Dalton. I'm so happy that you decided to try the UA-cam thing. Keep living that amazing life, brother. You've absolutely got this.
I've a 62 Fairlane 500 I've got here in England that I've had for 7 years after buying someone else project and getting in deeper than I'd like to admit so it's just sat. It's in about the same condition as the wagon and I'm just going to do what you've done to get it on the road. My son's got his prom in about 2 months and I'd love to be able to take him in it. I've said it before but I love your approach with these cars. By the way "just because I know how to do it right, doesn't mean I will" would make a great shirt. Keep on doing what you're doing.
You make mechanic work look so easy-- I know theres lots and lots of time consuming work involved- Thanks yall! Heres to a funtastic summer...Buffs garage next stop!😁
Im really looking forward to watching you build this car. I like the idea of a "series" type format. You dont have to do it all the time but sometimes is alright.
It amazes me that you can get away with just patching the floors like that, in New Zealand, Australia and many other countries you would have that car impounded, pink stickered (ordered off the road as an unsafe vehicle) or crushed. If you tried to import a car with a repair like that, they'd almost laugh at it and prevent you registering the car until the rust issues were fixed...by fixed I mean butt welded repair sections, like AMD do, or from a donor vehicle, it has to look factory or you're out of luck.I wonder if the USA have different rust repair requirements, State to State? Glad I don't have a car that rusts lol. Awesome channel, Dalton, don't go changing on us...
Came across your videos not to long ago and love them! Me and my old man are prepping a car for the rustbelt lemons and seeing you and your son working together warms my heart! Best of luck Dalton, I'll shoot a couple self tapers in our 68' Galaxie in your honor.
The convertible trunk is a great idea for hauling hounds to the woods,I cut holes in my 76 oldsmobile trunk and removed the back seat that way the hounds could run back and forth, ps had to put hog panels behind front seat to keep them from coming up front😊
I absolutely love this longer format. I can not wait to see how this project turns out. I think the the blue/teal/aqua seats will look killer in that wagon.
Builds and roadtrip is the way forward if I have any sway. Living in the UK (where we are under stupid motoring legislation) these projects you do are great to watch.
If your going to Galveston definitely recommend staying at the best western plus galveston suites on seawall blvd relatively cheap great food in walking distance and balcony rooms facing the ocean great place to be this time of year
I prefer the longer videos and I think the 2 episodes of rehab and a fun road trip is brilliant! Thank you for sharing and have a great weekend to come👍🏻🙂

I have allways preferred the multi episode builds, it was actually the silver dollar Chevy that brought me to your channel
This is AMAZING!! I cant wait for this beast to be finished up, it's gonna be a killer build ❤❤
ive been waiting for this video cant wait to watch, dalton my dad and i are putting a bbc and th400 in a dj5 hopefully it might turn into a drag and drive car, that wagon is badass btw
Love how Jess dragged you away from the JAAAGG. That’s a women who you want to stay around LOL :)
Build, road trip🤔 Yess! This is an excellent idea! Maybe you could add a few meet n greets along the way. Maybe a surprise visit to some lesser know garages like mine in Oklahoma lol. Thanks for your dedication to the craft my friend.
I watch you all the way from New Zealand love the longer videos can't wait to see this cool tank back on the road again. Bring on the beach.
New meaning to recycle old cars
Awesome content
Love all the hard work
You build it we will watch.
Absolutely you are on my bucket list. Spending a day or two working on one of those treasures.
I really need to learn the art of the self tapper.
In 1972 I had one of those wagons with the 6 banger and three on the tree. It was so cheap to operate. I loved it!
We'll be hard to miss I think!
Here we have yet another fine video. Thanks for the entertainment, i myself appreciate it.
Enjoy your videos! 84yrs old, been mechanic 1960
0:35 oooohh what a beauty!!! Loove that design. back end is so cool. great find
Ford has helped shadetree mechanics with using the same parts on multiple cars over many years. Gotta love it. Love the channel and the characters. ❤
Dalton, keep up the multi-video builds. Its nice to see all the work that goes into the build.
You make mechanic work look so easy-- I know theres lots and lots of time consuming work involved- Thanks yall! Heres to a funtastic summer...Buffs garage next stop!😁
Love watching you build these cars, Youre very creative with how to fix stuff on them. I dont see myself ever unsubscribing from this channel
High quality building and revival.....brilliant experience to behold...great teamwork is dreamwork 👍💨💨
Love the longer format videos. Especially love seeing a car come from basket case to something cool and one-off.
Im really looking forward to watching you build this car. I like the idea of a "series" type format. You dont have to do it all the time but sometimes is alright.
Nice Dalton! Don't see many of these old wagons getting saved. Look forward to seeing how this one turns out.
I've learned that watching your videos the best ways to turn the sound down and play circus music it's so fun.
Yeah,, definitely the kind of you tube stuff I watch! I love it when there's a roadtrip at the end.
G' day Dalton & team ,Re build and tripping that's good
Please do! The longer format is always more fun! Progress is always interesting to watch!
@ 39:24: "Just 'cause I know how to do it right doesn't mean I'm going to." -- Priceless. :)
Builds and roadtrip is the way forward if I have any sway. Living in the UK (where we are under stupid motoring legislation) these projects you do are great to watch.
Another great video, the 2+ video builds, and then road tripping em are a great idea. It keeps us coming back for more each week
❤nice wagon you don't see them anymore. Thanks for saving that wagon, beuty to my eyes😊
If your going to Galveston definitely recommend staying at the best western plus galveston suites on seawall blvd relatively cheap great food in walking distance and balcony rooms facing the ocean great place to be this time of year
