Go Red for Women: Real Woman Brittany Scheier

Brittany Scheier, 29 (Houston), was in her last semester of law school when she woke up in the middle of the night with weakness on her right side, tunnel vision and problems speaking. Fortunately, her roommates were home and rushed her to the hospital. Because of her young age, doctors mistakenly thought her symptoms were the result of drug use. An MRI revealed Brittany had suffered a hemorrhagic stroke. Now she wants to educate the health care industry about strokes in young women.
