The discovery 2 is also the first car I've ever driven where the sport mode actually feels like a different driving experience. Part of me thinks they intended it to handle like that but couldnt justify the fuel economy, so they made it a button.
Crowd James (that’s what I’m calling him) might have been on vacation oooooorrrr he jad a heart attack and has beeen listening to the pop up headlights remix???
I've owned two Disco 2's in my life. I flipped the first one on the trail and walked away with no injuries. I bought the second one a couple months later and I am still dailying it to this day. No other 4x4 can come close to the capabilities of a stock Discovery.
I'm still on my first D2. Had it 4 years and thrown a bunch of money at it. How do you justify selling one and buy another knowing that it could have serious issues soon down the road where as the one you've gotten rid of you kinda get to know. Unless of course you've totalled 3 of them.
I really hate the way the discovery went from super cool first series for affordable people up to the discovery 3 for "rich" people with the "i don't want to get stained" kind of vibe. Series 1 and 2 rocked!!
Hope you feel better, James ! Couple of things about this video : -The Land Rover Discovery won every Camel Trophy they were engaged in because they were the official and therefore main car of the event ; -The 2,7 l TDV6 is not from Jaguar but from a Ford/PSA partnership ; it was fitted in Peugeots, Citroëns, Fords, Jaguars and Land Rovers ; -From 18:55 to 19:08, you're showing footage of the Discovery Sport, which is to the Discovery what the Range Rover Evoque is to the Range Rover, but they awfully look alike...

My fathers discovery was still being driven by someone in 2016 before it was declared SORN. I barely see them on the road apart from ones which have been heavily modified. My dad used to have a Discovery 3 when I was a kid, and I thought it was a very nice car indeed. Ours was a 2005 (55-reg) HSE model with the 2.7-litre TDV6 diesel paired with the 6-speed automatic, and it was finished in a dark metallic blue (called Buckingham Blue) with the 'Alpaca' cream leather interior, which looked really nice.
