That's right small car to sport hatch back
Malaysian huh?
I'm Malaysian and I say that Lotus really helped in Proton's handling. Our cars aren't fast but when you hit it up hills and tight roads... that's whasuuuppppp
I NEED MO POWA BABY FROM MO POWA BABY DUDE!!! BRING HIM BACK ITS NOT THE SAME 😱👍😥😥😢😢😭😭😭😭😭
👍
@ Donut Media Yeah really, it's not the same. 😔
I about blew a gasket when you didn’t mention the LT5 during the Elan section; you even showed a C4 ZR1! But then you came back and made me smile. Designed by Lotus, built by Mercury Marine, the only non-GM engine to go into a Corvette and the father of the Northstar series of engines.
Consider doing an episode on TVR, they made some interesting stuff and have a brand new model coming!
They did it!
@@santhoshsridhar5887 Yup, quite a while ago! I saw it immediately after it was uploaded :D
i’ve literally asked for lotus so much and it’s finally here😭
"Even a small motor could make a 1200 horsepower."
Infinite Rift lotta power baby
I mean in relativity, the Honeywell AGT 1500, which powers the m1 Abrams main battle tank, is small, when compared with a 747 engine. And that produces 1200 horsepower so he wasn't wrong.
I'mma show this to my ex to prove size doesn't matter
Yep. Have you seen a k series 😂
BTW - I'm not saying he's wrong - I just like the quote.
I always love this channel, best videos. Watching this specifically to research for a song I'm writing called "Lotus". It's kinda about my dad. Did not disappoint
My Proton Satria GTi had “Handling by Lotus”. So basically, I used to own a Lotus.
no joke, Proton is the only other manufacturer that has the same exact suspension calibration/test rig like Lotus has in Hethel.
@@mimimimeow
Exora's handling is so good, I have the 2011 model
Yeah my saga flx can take corner in 100 kmph without any doubt.
You are over exaggerating, for example current Proton Persona and Saga models technical handling by Geely technology are underrated testament.
@@ThePaulz80 I'm pretty sure we're talking about Proton BEFORE they were sold to Geely.
Hey James, you forgot to mention the “pop up and down headlights!” I hope you’re doing better and back on your feet soon!
Headlights go up, headlights go down. Up. Down. Up. Down. Up down up down up down
I had a 2006 Elise convertible, and I can confirm that it was the best car I’ve ever owned. Absolute beast and insane on corners. I loved it. Traded it for a mustang and have regretted it since. If you want a lotus there are plenty for sale under 24k within the 2004-2008 range that are in great condition and will be your new favorite car 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 thanks for the video donut, bringing back some good memories 🔥
7:38 is like Elon Musk spending his time trying to draw the cybertruck lmfao
OMG lol
James had a heart atack
Nos energy drink. Nowhere to be found ..
Coincidence, I THINK NOT
I called this the first time I saw him with that crap. Those drinks are literally poison. I don't know how anyone drinks them.
Watchandjewelryloft LMAOO you’re saying that like NOS is what caused the heart attack. thats a dumb assumption especially since he has a family history of heart problems and is not healthy...
That's funny
GenericUsername nos helped I’d say tho
:) I drove and exige on Silverstone. It corners so fast I went a little dizzy. It handles so well. The guy teaching me showed me how it was done. He drifted round all the ferraris and carried so much speed he was on their arse down the straights. The whole time I could hear the little super charger wizzing. I was (and still am) a crap driver, but in that even I could catch up with ferraris round the corners.
Quotes of the century from Rob (my teacher) "the Apex is over THERE!!"
"Drive the car, your letting it drive you!"
"ahh, stay in second, she likes being overrevved" (through a chicane)
and finally "Don't drive slower, break harder"
The fact that I just now noticed James is chasing a letter from DAD in the intro is sad haha
Oh snap 😂😂😂😂😂
OMG, that’s cool... sad
And then pulled away by a BUFF horse
Wait, what? Haha
11:54
James: where is he?
Me: uhh I hate to break this to u but he had a heart attack
Like they predict it 🤣
I know, it was like foreshadowing.
Brad Lemmond 13:50
Oh man...It’s ironic poor James recorded this episode 5 hours before it happened
Lotus did win a grande prix in 2013 with KIMI at the wheel
The evora is my favorite lotus model ever, great elegance to its lines, practical with 4 seats and a truck and a Toyota drivetrain, decently comfortable, looks like 120k but is 40k. Manual only, quirky enough to be very very doug friendly, properly fast and handle amazing. Ticks all of the boxes excluding the weird key immobilizer lock unlock system
You can disable that. I did it with my Elise; makes a world of difference. check lotustalk.com
Still waiting on "Up to Speed on Tommykaira"!
Hell yeah! Their skyline rebuilt was the reason why I like them.
Hear hear
I want to just listen to this video in the background while I do stuff but the dude is just so funny that I end up sitting and watching the whole thing.
Guess you never know what you have until it's gone.
Rest in Peace, kid who shouts "More Power Baby".
2006 - 2019
Lotus is a car company that runs through the veins of almost all technological leaps of automotion. Sad they have never really hit big :-/
3:26 That is gorgeous! The front fenders turn with the wheels. Serious leg-burning exhaust setup!
I burst out laughing the moment the video started with the flower blooming! You guys are comedy gold! So glad you're back James! Pls bring Bart in for a cameo one day :)
),:
I miss bart, glad to see james james doing better
William Ruiz what happen to bart
@@JoseGarcia-jp8gs i think he had a kid, and had to leave donut
i think he got busted by his wife 😅
My dad was actually the only certified lotus tech in all of Nevada for about 2 years. Was actually pretty fuckin sick to come home to 3 versions of a lotus in the driveway
All the engineering and physics people laughed at “HOLY BERNOULLI”
Bring back Bart, Donut.
WHERES MY BOY IN THE CROWD😭😭
Hopefully in the cringey character graveyard.
Starting to miss that guy…who knew?
I’m hoping he was just absent today.
The Exiges S is one of the greatest drivers cars ever built in my opinion. My friend owned one for 3 years sold it for the same price. I'm buying one when i graduate college.
Colin: Simplify then add lightness
James: Simplify then add LIGHTING LIGHTING LIGHTING !!!!!!!!!!!
Wuup Datas why is there a hurricane out side
@@tamoracemo2048 if there is a hurricane, I hope crowd guy didnt get caught in it.
Our boy in the crowd is not getting his attendance medal this year 🥺
Thank you so much!
Truly the best informative Lotus video I’ve ever seen. True masterpiece.
I am 6'6" 230. In a Lotus, I always do the lotus position (i.e. crammed in the smallest space possible).
"Holy Bernoli" is legit the best thing I have heard in a long time!
Legend has it that the reason the Esprit, Delorean, and BMW M1 look the same is because an angel came to GG in a dream and showed him the most beautiful, divinely crafted wedge, and he dedicated his career to slapping four wheels and an engine on that sucker.
Whoa, and what about Kimi’s “leave me alone, I know what I’m doing” F1 Abu Dhabi victory in 2012?
Or the Melbourne win in '13?
2012 Lotus F1 team was technically the old Renault F1 team with Lotus as their title sponsor. The true Team Lotus sadly defunct back in '94.
*Bwoah
"simply then add lightness"
American muscle car guys have tuned out at this point.
@Donut Media please do not ever lose your producer.
The part that James missed saying "...1200 horsepo... uh..." maked me to laugh like a dumb xD
Got to love the required James bond clips.
Lotus doesn't get near enough credit. They are such a legendary and revolutionary company.
Up to speed on Proton , malaysian viewers where you at ?
Here. but how did the saga just have a perfect durability even though it look like it can explode with just a touch of a green pea
Here
Thank goodness Proton sold off Lotus to Geely so they get adequate funding now.
they'll get new guidelines too and thats not a good thing
Hands down, the most entertaining car show on UA-cam. Keep up the good werk
"power makes you faster in the straghts subtracting weight makes you faster everywhere" Anthony Colin Bruce Chapman
James, it’s great you’re back and doing well. Best wishes.
Still never forget the phrase "Lots Of Trouble Usually Serious"
What was the least reliable thing on lotus? I want to know?
@@salami99 The car. The newer ones have toyota engines though which was a genius idea
"I only make a million dollars for each of this episodes"

I missed the “More power baby” guy
