TOTK sages are SO BAD. TOTK sky islands are GREAT The fact that you can "ride" the dragons in TOTK is amazing, always wanted to do it. The "extra" dungeon in BOTW is not so bad, but the Boss was so much fun. Both endings SUCK. Why is it so hard to have animations like A Link to the past or OOT during the credits?
7:26 I have to disagree neither of these Games have good music, if any Zelda Game should be annominated with best music in the Franchise its Skyward Sword have you heard Ballad of the Goddess?
I was always hoping for a Republic Commando type game but with federation troopers versus space pirates kinda thing with cameo appearances from Samus maybe once or twice. I feel like Federation Force and it's reception has murdered that dream.
I agree. The sages in ToTK had repetitive cutscenes. If they had changed up the cutscenes to show a different aspect of the battle vs Ganondorf, it would've been pretty dope.
One of the things that bothers me about TotK is how grindey it feels. Way to many resources to manage, and the menu design doesn't help in the slightest. Discovering that almost half of the map (the depths) main purpose was just gathering rare materials was really dissapointing
Old Zelda is superior because it doesn’t make combat in the late game like the N64 version of the Ocarina of Time’s Water Temple in terms of menu annoyance. Weapon breaks, find new weapon in the menu, and repeat for every silver and gold enemy. TotK makes it even worse because of the fuse mechanic. Weapons in BotW and TotK are the Ocarina of Time Iron boots of those games because of the STUPID durability system.
I think where the sages worked was in their story before their awakening as sages. Each of them having their own catastrophy. In particular was Tulin who had his own little arc of growing into being the hero he needed to be. That said, since Sidon, Riju, and Yunobo all had their arcs in Breath of the Wild, they really didnt get much more than a fun story and dungeon. Though I did enjoy dirtbag drug lord Yunobo while he lasted.
Ergh. Music. I honestly don't have many nice things to say about BoTW's music. The remixes of older tracks were generally solid, but the rest of that game's ost ranged from mediocre to outright bad. The one new BoTW tune that really sticks in my head is the one that I have the most grievances with, that being the battle theme for the Guardian enemies. The Guardian theme has a first second or two that tries to establish a tone, which can fit with the 'What th- no!' response you might have if a Guardian takes you by surprise in the game world, but then the music quickly devolves into sounding like someone is just sweeping his hand back and forth on a keyboard.
The only point I'd have to strongly disagree with here is the story. I didn't find the memories in BotW compelling in the slightest, to the point I was just doing them for the sake of it by the end and I can't remember anything about them, whereas TotK's memories genuinely surprised me on a number of occasions. Great video though, looking forward to the TotK one!
BoTW just seemed like a more grounded (literally) and polished fantasy game. ToTK was more like they were throwing in cool ideas that neither coalesced into a fully unique experience or respected the games base and original vision. I thought that there were some things, if they were introduced in the first game, would be a great improvement. But as a whole, BotW is definitely the more solid game.
I think if you combined the best expects of both _BOTW_ and _TOTK,_ and expanded their ideas in a few ways, that you’d have a perfect open-world _Zelda_ game… or at least a perfect story 🤷🏻♂️👍
I played both games start to finish. BOTW was a struggle to get through. Or the other hand I could not put the controller down for TOTK. I'm confused on your opinion of the story? Maybe I played BOTW wrong or something but I thought the "story" was non existent. way better story in TOTK. As far as the sages being problematic in Tears, I do agree. the thing is though you can turn them off in the settings if you don't need their ability's in the current area you're in.
What was one aspect where you preferred one game over the other?
My biggest problem with the sages in totk is that their AI is so bad in combat. Hell Kingdom Hearts had better combat AI and that was in 2002
Yunobo was the worst to me. He was also lighting stuff on fire that I didn’t want lit. He was also annoying when he was hovering on my aircrafts

That was the main problem I had with TOTK it reused the same Hyrule from the last Game.

A Dream Game I've always wanted but I know will never happen is a Metroid and Republic Commando crossover.

@@Rundas045Yeah but there's always a chance for the future.
The championships in BOTW are superior. The TOTK are not anywhere near as user friendly.
I prefer Breath of the Wild better. Simpler. TOTK was amazing though. That’s my opinion.
Great video. I mostly agree. I also didn't like the dark world. Can someone please tell me the name of yhe first song in the musicsection?
It’s the “Faron Woods” theme from Skyward Sword 👍

0:22 I'm only half that I love Breath of the Wild but I can't stand Tears of the Kingdom.

Drove me bananas that the story had 0 continuity. Don’t call it a sequel if it has nothing to do with the game before.
